Beautiful!

We didn't like that they had a band playing after 10pm.

Nice location away from the bussle of Bar Harbor

The Inn is in a great location, in a beautiful setting. Overall it is charming and feels like a throwback to an earlier time. The fixtures and decor do feel dated. Overall a good experience, but it would be nice if there were some investment to freshen up some of the older features.

I love old buildings, love history, so I loved this Inn. This is not the place for those who need all the modern conveniences , but more for those who want to step back in time. The staff is EXCELLENT, the site is beautiful and the dining is exemplary. We totally enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful charming historical in. In a amazing location and setting. It could use some updates but was very comfortable to stay in. Comfortable bed and very gracious attentive staff.

The historic property was in a beautiful location and we had a fabulous view from our room. The front desk staff were lovely, but the good experience ends there. No a.c or fan in the room, and it was quite stuffy. Bugs in the bathroom. Dated decor with stains on the carpet. And the downstairs bar/restaurant was an abomination. Worst dining experience of my life. And when I spoke to management about it the woman tried to force a desert on me and promptly ignored everything I said and did nothing to fix the problem. Basically we stayed for two nights at a property that couldn't care less about us. We will not be back.

The inn is a very interesting building and close to Arcadia Park; however, the Inn needs some updating, did not have an elevator and did not serve dinner. They did have a Continental breakfast in the morning. For the price you pay, I expected full service to be offered.

Not up to date. One lightbulb in my bathroom. Fan fell out of the window. Nice bed and sheets.

Beautiful location!

Wonderful old hotel that is perfectly located. Kind of tired, which is OK...part of the charm. The staff is young and friendly, but for the most part completely untrained. We’ve stayed there twice. You can actually hike right into the park from there which is awesome! We remembered the breakfasts being great the first time we stayed. Not so this time (COVID/staffing impact?). Dinner was not so great either, but a decent (although short) wine list. My current recommendation would be to stay here, but eat elsewhere.

No TV was nice. Hallway was a little loud. Some wall paper was coming down in the bathroom.

Nice location and beautiful views Building and rooms are a bit dated - and not simply in an historic way

The property and staff were very nice and friendly. The room was outdated but clean. There was no TV or air conditioning.

Big summer camp lodge feel with beautiful views of Northeast Harbor. Nice breakfast on the deck and great location to Acadia National Park. A real gem in the area.

This was a classic hotel experience. You can feel the history of the property the moment you step inside the lobby. If you are aware that this is a property that is over 100 years old, then your expectations should match that fact. The room was very clean. The view was very nice. The furniture is classic. The location was about 2.5 miles from Acadia, so that online advertising that this is waking distance is pretty subjective, Jordan’s pond the closest Acadia highlight, is another 1.5 miles from the entrance. For moderately active people, driving to Acadia would probably be preferred. The hotel is also about 10 miles from Bar Harbor Main Street. My husband and I enjoyed our stay very much.

The Inn is a very charming, historic property in a great location on MDI. The staff was very friendly and attentive to any needs. The food was also very good and fresh. However, being an old building, there is substantial noise throughout the hallways and from guests on the floor above you, from thin walls, windows and doors. Additionally, the claw foot tub with surround shower curtain can be a tight space and challenging to comfortably shower. While this is a lovely place, for the price per night, it could use some modern upgrades in sound and bathrooms.

Awesome hotel in a great location. We made the mistake of staying during peak season and it was full of kids and tourists. The walls are super thin and there was constant noise going until 1 or 2 in the morning.

Hotel is over 100 years old and shows it's age. Good character but in need of general maintenance. Room size was great but bathroom small and not practical for getting ready. Setting is great and staff was helpful ownership needs to spend money on some upgrades.

We know our hotel has several amenities missing when you compare it to a new property. We have been working tirelessly trying to get the Asticou-Inn renovated. COVID had a significant impact on the hospitality industry. We understand and empathize with guests staying with us the very first time, not realizing some amenities are missing. Please rest assured we are working on improving this beautiful Inn, which we hope will begin at the end of this season. We do have an elevator. It is manually operated and the front desk is happy to bring anyone up and down at anytime. We do serve dinner, except on tuesdays and wednesdays, due to staffing issues. We have posted this on our website and facebook and emailed guests that had booked prior to this decision, trying our best to get the word out. We apologize your stay was not as enjoyable as it could be and we hope you chose to stay with us next year when things have improved with renovations and staffing.
