The room was nice and big, and quiet and clean. I like the old school SE Asian hotels. Tai Pan is definitely that type of place. The location is perfect. Close to the nightlife, but kind of tucked away. Easy to catch either the BTS or MRT. Terminal 21 is very close as well. Staying here gave me all kinds of things to do besides hitting the bar scene.

Almost all amenities, including toothbrushes, are charged, and the prices of all room amenities, including pillows, are listed on a table in the room. Other notices included: "When you enter the room, please check the number of bathrobes, hand towels, and bath towels provided. If there are not enough, please contact room service immediately or you will be charged at check-out." When I checked and found there were no bathrobes, I contacted the front desk and was told, "That's not in the room." Overall, it's not a relaxing environment, so if that bothers you, I recommend avoiding it.

the staff was friendly, but the hotel is definitely not more than 2 star. our room was old, worn out and the bed sheets were stained like the bed was not made fresh. the A/C was very noisy and the temperature not adjustable. overall it’s an old but ok hotel and surly not worth the room rate we paid.

Everything was going good till last day. I requested for late checkout at reception and the lady agreed for 2 pm check out. Later the power in my room was shut down around 1:30 abruptly. I was getting ready to leave and i had to do so in dark room without ac. When i asked at reception why power was turned off before time, receptionist Anna spoke very rude that it is out policy. I was shocked at her behaviour and felt really bad. I will refrain from booking this hotel again.
