Initially was a bit upset when we showed up at 3 PM and the room still wasn't ready, but the staff was so friendly and helpful and the room so nice we got over it. It's about a 15 minute walk to the BTS skytrain, but they do offer a shuttle. Breakfast was also very good. A great value for the money.
Have been staying at this hotel when in Bangkok for the last 10 years. I like staying here because of the location (short walk to terminal 21 and sky train ). Also good staff. But the condition of the hotel is very poor now. The rooms are run down and in poor condition. Stayed in family suite and the DVD player and washing machine was broken. Room smelling of cigarettes. Power points broken and the room was dirty. Rooms need complete refit. Definitely not 4 star. Look elsewhere.
My young daughter and I decided to change our holiday plans and found this hotel available and very cheap for a 4 night stay so we booked this up and made our way to the hotel. We were warmly received by the staff on the front desk who's english was very good making our business swift and easy to manage. It is located on Soi 15 and only 300 metres from Sukuhumvit 43 which meant access to Terminal 21 shopping mall as well as the Skytrain was practically on our doorstep. The hotel has its own mini shop and also 30 metres from the entrance is a big 7 eleven store where I was able to stock up on necessary provisions to keep my daughter occupied/happy. The hotel has a restaurant on the ground floor which not only provides room service but a quick phone call from the swimming pool meant I had a beer in my hand within minutes. A large glass of cold Heineken lager cost 95 baht. A really nice touch I thought. The swimming pool isn't heated but it was very welcoming to dip in at any time between 8am-10pm. The pool was never busy and neither was the sun lounger area at the top of the stairs by the pool. The pool is 1.3 metres depth across the whole pool which was great for my daughter. Adjacent to the pool is a fitness suite which was more than adequate for anyone wishing to stay on top of their fitness whilst on holiday. The (non smoking) room was well furnished with a safe and a wardrobe as well as a desk, 2 bed side tables, a television (with printed tv channel listings) on top of a unit which housed the refrigerator. The bed was a double and very comfortable and the ablutions had a nice deep bath, a walk in shower and a sink underneath a big well lit mirror. The lighting and air conditioning is all controlled by a control panel on one of the bed side tables. You are issued with 2 key cards for your stay. I kept one in the room to ensure power stayed on so we could charge our devices whilst keeping the other one to use the lift and get in and out of our room. The rooms are cleaned and the bed is made daily by a very friendly team who will also restock the refrigerator when required. The concierge team were always very helpful and small touches like holding our door open and greeting my young daughter I thought were real nice touches. There are tuk-tuk drivers and taxis on Soi 15 so you don't really need to ask the hotel to arrange transport for you. It cost me 400 baht for a taxi to the airport which I arranged myself. The driver came to find us in the hotel lobby as well, avoiding the heat outside. This drive took about an hour. We also got a taxi for 300 baht to Wat Arun which was around 45 minutes away. I went to watch Port FC v Bangkok Glass FC at the PAT stadium and that cost 200 baht for a 20 minute journey. The only downside I found with this hotel was the cost of the laundry service but it served me right for not using an independent service outside the hotel. For 6 pairs of boxer shorts and a couple of T shirts I paid over 1000baht. All in all, I won't be staying anywhere else on my next visit. This hotel is so nice and quiet and close to the hustle and bustle of Bangkok, superb value and all the staff were very nice. Keep up the good work an see you again soon.
I had one night in Bangkok after flying in from London and chose Royal President as I am familiar with the area it is in and it was a good rate with no cancellation fee. The staff were very accommodating as I arrived around 10am off an early morning arrival long-haul flight. My room wasn't ready but they upgraded me to a suite which was available immediately which was very kind. The room and the hotel overall however are very tired and in need of upgrading. There was a strong smell of smoke in my room and the carpets are very stained. The suite had a small kitchen facility and washing machine/dryer which was handy. The room lights kept coming on throughout the night at different times which was a bit weird and after getting up to turn them off and then waking up again with different lights on, I gave up (jet lag probably helped that it didn't matter to me what lights were on!). I didn't use any facilities other than breakfast in the restaurant which was okay - nothing special. The location is great, just off Sukhumvit and very close to Asoke BTS station and Terminal 21 shopping centre.
We arrived late at night only to find our prepaid reservations were for later in the week, when we had to be back at work. Not sure whose error it was. The hotel had no rooms nights two and three of when we thought we had reservations, had one crummy room left that night-at a much higher price than our online reservation. We took it and asked for a refund for our prepaid reservation. They said we had to call the online booking website. We did. The booking website said it was the hotel's decision and called the manager. The hotel said no go for night one. We did get a refund for nights two and three. But for night one they got double payment. Perhaps legally right based on the booking website small print. But morally wrong. Plus our wake up call the next morning was 25 minutes late. We will not try to stay with them again.
After getting in around 11, the lady that checked us in is unfriendly. When I turn on the shower, the water was sizzling no matter how hard I tried. After frustrating bath, I just wanted to just lie down and sleep and that's when the problem starts. My whole body started to itch. I can't wait to get out this hotel... what a terrible experience!!!!!!
This hotel is just a few minutes walk from the busy Sukhumvit road and the Asoke BTS-station in a quite area. I have already stayed here twice in a deluxe room. The furniture in the rooms are a bit outdated (or classic) and tired, but everything functions properly. The rooms are super spacious! There is a kitchenette with a large fridge and microwave, a large safe, a comfortable seating area, a desk in a working area and huge beds. You probably cannot get a larger and completer room for this price in this area. Rooms could be cleaner tough, but I think it is almost impossible for the cleaningperson to clean this on her/his own in the time given. (Most hotels have way smaller rooms and two or three cleaningpersons to do the job). But cannot complain for the price... It is absolutely a very good value for your money. Wifi is free and the speed is ok. Breakfast restaurant is small and could be crowded. Food is ok. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I will not hesitate to stay here again if I am in the neighbourhood.
We stayed here for one night when got into Bangkok before heading to Phuket. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Very helpful. The lobby was pretty and clean. We could see the pool from our room but we didn't get a chance to visit it but it looked nice. We had a king suite. Everything was pretty outdated and smelled very musty and old. I had troubles even being in the sitting room area because the smell was suffocating. I would stay here again in a pinch but I wouldn't recommend it for an extended stay.
We arrived at the hotel at around 1am in the morning. Checked in and shown to our room. The room was dark old and dated and smelt like mould. I contacted reception and said this wasn't the room I saw in the photos to which I was told they were taken a long time ago. The next day we were offered the choice of another two rooms. The first smelt the same as the one we were in on the fifth floor. The second room was on the seventh floor and had just had the carpets cleaned. It was light and airy, Old but clean. We stayed for 29 days and apart from the first incident I could not fault them. All the staff were extremely helpful and kind. The breakfast was suitable and the dining room was nice. I loved the swimming pool! This is a old hotel in desperate need of a revamp but really the staff made up for any shortfall and I ended up loving it. We have to travel again in June and will absolutely stay there again.
We booked the Royal President on makemytrip.com. After, first getting to the hotel we were in a standard room because we got to the hotel at 3.am. So even though we had booked a suite we had to book a room for the previous night. Because we couldn't check in at 3am. The standard room was absolutely awful. After having a sleepless night. And arguing with the receptionist. If I'm not mistaken her name was Chonticha. She was terrible human being. I told her the rooms look nothing like the pictures. And she laughed and said "Well I look so pretty in my pictures too, but I have seen me in real life" She was awful! After not having any sleep at all. I stayed up most of the night contacting make my trip. It was a nightmare. The next morning I went to the front desk. And spoke to the manager. This manger was one of the best people I have met in my life. Mr. Natapol Siwarungsun. I'm never going to forget that name. He offered us our suite the next morning and we weren't happy with it either. After a beautiful experience of staying at one of the finest hotels in Phuket. We were really having the worst time of our lives at this hotel. Me along with my 65 year old mother and my older sister. This holiday was about to get ruined if it wasn't for this manager. He perfectly understood our situation. He moved us to one of the nicest rooms this hotel had to offer. It was a beautiful spacious 2 bedroom apartment. Clean and decent decor. It wasn't extremely fancy in decor. But, it felt like a home away from home. We had the best shower and the best service. This manager is the best manager any hotel can have. If it wasn't for him and his service we wouldn't ever be staying at this hotel. My mom loved the room and wants to go back to the same suite all the time now. The breakfast was a decent spread. I think we would go back for the same suite and the lovely service of the amazing manager. Hope this helps. All the best, Dimple Rupani
