The hotel was very convenient to reach every place but the room we took has no aircon and even after complaining there is nothing done instead the receptionist said the maintenance will be coming on Monday whereby my checkout on Monday . So I had to sleep in that hot and stuffy room for 3 days 2 nights stay. The staff was inconsiderate to change our room as well

My stay in Suite twin room

I stayed 3 nights in room no 603 in suite twin room plus an extra bed.Overall the room is quite spacious.The problem was only the beds. My single bed was too hard and it needs to be replaced as it was giving noise when i moved.extra bed for my teenager daughter was not so comfortable.room is equipped with fridge,safe deposit box,a big umbrella, slippers, telephone(we stayed our first night in Adagio hotel, a few steps away from retro 39 and it didnt have a phone in the room, also they charged additional 3 percents if we are using credit cards for payment), no proper places for wardrobe, was a nightmare.so we think this hotel retro 39 is much more comfortable hotel than that one, in the same area.access to bts phrom phong is 3 mins away.family mart and 7 eleven are just a 2 mins walk.some open air food stalls are around, but we didnt eat there as my daughter got diarrhea due to food poisoning in chiangmai a few days before bangkok trip.receptionist and bell boy were quite friendly, one doesnt speak english but very friendly middle aged man.No breakfast included in our package, but we have no issue. our room has balcony, so i can wash some and it will dry in just a few hours afterwards.

Likely to have bed bugs in the room I stayed. Bitten on my thigh the first and second night. After I changed to the other twin bed and wore a fresh bath robe, bitten on the neck and arms.

3 Nights Experience at Retro 39 Hotel , Bangkok

After 8 hours long flight from Doha to Bangkok. Arrived to hotel around 10:20 a.m local time and unable to check in. The desk manager demand to ask 700.00 bath for earily check in. Otherwise, advice to check in 12:00 am. The room was very small and it was ok for couple days. However sewer water smell coming from the bathroom. Especially when temporature rise up nearly 100 degree in city of Bangkok the smell gotten worse. Most often noticed during my stay the front desk manager was friendly, cheerful nor helpful. Not even try to communicate with customer or a pleasant manner. It appear that manager was either shy or try not to make eyes contact with customers.

Good location, Near BTS Station

Close to the BTS station.(Phrom Phong). Many eatery around. Walling distance to Emporium shopping mall. Nice clean rooms. Wifi good. Friendly staff especially the female front office assistant. Would definitely stay here again.

Location is very easy to anything to do . But wall is very thin can hear clearly everything .... N staffs so so . No smail especially female reception . But cheap n clean ;)

Great Value Hotel

Retro 39 is a fantastic boutique hotel with clean and modern rooms, friendly and extremely helpful staff. One of the highlights to this hotel is walking distance to shopping malls, local eateries and the MRT system. Even though the hotel is located close to these amenities, very quiet in the rooms. This is now the second time I have stayed at Retro 39 and will continue to do so.

Good value for location

The hotel is literally 3 minutes walking from Phrom Phong BTS station and 5 minutes from EmQuartier Mall, which has a lot of restaurants and shopping (and isn't as crowded as Siam area). You can't beat the location. I had the smoking room which had a balcony. Room was cozy but clean. My only (small) complaint is that the water in my room didn't get that hot. You'll need to give them a 1,000 baht deposit in cash when you arrive. Friendly service.
