It is a rather small hotel tucked in a smaller side lane. Due to its location, it is therefore quiet – something which I liked. It appears to be converted from several linked houses and does at first exude a smallish boutique hotel outlook. There is a nice koi pond right in front, next to the small entrance. A raised glass lounge deck sits atop the pond which is surrounded by lush landscaping. The sheltered pond is actually quite cooling and proved to be a comfortable place to sip a drink or read a book. Main hotel drawback is the absence of lift. Guest had to haul their luggage up 4 floors via very a steep staircase. Not a problem for me as I only stayed a night. Room where I stayed (203) is large but suffers from lower quality furnishing. Room key is just normal key, not the electronic card keys synonymous with more up-market hotels. Floor is thinly carpeted and feels uncomfortable barefoot. No slippers provided but wardrobe is quite large, complete with bath robes. The writing table is a hurriedly painted desk without any nearby electrical sockets – inconvenient to charge laptop whilst working on it. Room has an alcove where the TV and recliner couch is located. TV has many channels; Thai, English, Korean and Japanese. Bed is big and comfortable but closer scrutiny, say specks of white paint at the edge of the bed just under the mattress. Air – con is centrally control and is very cold – actually a good thing in hot and humid Bangkok climate. Bath has got psychedelic white / black tiling and the light switch is annoyingly located behind the bath door – difficult to find. Water pressure is adequate and hot enough. Didn’t find any nearby convenience store or food outlets. Hotel is within walking distance to the PhromPhomg BTS station as well as the chick EM Quartier Shopping Centre. If Aspira’s management spruce up the level of details and workmanship in the rooms, they may have a winner here. I am undecided on returning, as the rooms are still below expectations.
Except for the great nice pesonnel and the very comfortable bed, the hotel does not correspond to the description. The hotel is very old, dilapidated, difficult to find, at the bottom of a dead end. 4 floors without lift. Breakfast not included in the price. The windows are great fine, dirty and do not stop at all the slightest noise.
Had a really nice queit stay here ! lovely people and lovely hotel ,i mentioned a bath in my request and the second night got a lovely upgrade into a lovely room . So handy to get around just off Sukhunvit road and all the action and skyrail the breakfast is fine and is cooked fresh to order
We booked a superior deluxe room for our trip because we specifically wanted a bath tub. Upon arrival, however, we were put into a standard room (smaller, and without a bath). We had to go back to reception and insist we had paid double the usual price for the deluxe room. After much shuffling of paper, the staff had a conversation in front of us in Thai (without knowing we speak thai) where we heard that they hadn't expected to rent the deluxe rooms out for tonight, so they had upgraded someone else into our room. They then then pretended the AC was being fixed in our room and said we could have it later. After eventually getting the room we had paid for, i was looking forward to a bath. Living in chiang mai, we don't have one at home so, hence why we paid extra for this room. However, the bath leaked and and plug didn't fit, so it was impossible to fill the tub. We really couldn't use it at all . The water trickled out of the tap, then through the cracked plug hole and too-small-plug, then over the bathroom floor where the drain additionally seemed broken. The bath itself was also very stained and dirty. Meanwhile, next door, some hard-core drilling action was starting to get going. There's nothing that says 'happy new year' quite like a pneumatic drill to your wall... I toddled back to reception and explained again that we paid twice the price for the room BECAUSE WE WANTED A ROOM WITH A BATH. The lady said (with a tired face) that she would have someone fix it. We got back that night to be told it had indeed been fixed. The next morning, i excitedly tried again to fill the bath. It was exactly the same. Not fixed at all. So they lied to us. I enquired at reception again. They said they would fix it. They sent a man (who introduced himself as an engineer) to the room who took the plug away, looked at the crack, and said he'd come fix it in a few minutes. He never came back. I asked at reception again and the girl said they'd "tried to find a better plug and think about the drain" but the engineer could not find any way to fix it. End of story. I reminded her (one more time) that we paid over 3000b for a deluxe room JUST to get a bath tub, but she smiled sadly and said there was nothing she could do. Essentially, the management are thieves. How could they not have know the drain was broken? It did not seem that this was a fresh crack The bathroom overall was dirty (see pics) and shabby looking. This is clearly a place that cuts corners. As breakfast was included we went down to be given instant coffee (nescafe, not even real coffee) watered down sweetened orange juice (cheap) and toast with cheap sweet jam. NO BUTTER! We had a choice of 3 styles of egg with meat and noodles, but were then told the noodles were not available. I asked if there was a vegetarian option and was told yes, they would make me something. They asked how i would like my eggs, so I ordered the scrambled eggs. What arrived was 2 fried eggs (with oddly over done yolks yet raw whites, which seemed to have been microwaved). After being given an initial plate of toast and jam, they provided 8 further slices of toast served with my (wrong) eggs. The stairs are quite dirty too. This hotel was more expensive than Novotel etc for one night, and definitely not worth anything like it. Very poor effort from the staff, poor service and a shabby old place. Definitely not a hotel with international standards. Very basic rooms and a horribly cheap breakfast, served by staff who don't listen to your order, and will willingly sell you broken rooms and products. And broken dreams...
Great hotel for the price. The rooms were clean and the staff was super friendly and helpful. I booked a trip to the floating market through them and it was a great trip. The location was great as it was a short walk to the sky train.
This review is an update of my previous one. I have kept the original text but I need to add that since posting this, the manager has been in touch several times and says that he will take the criticisms and act upon them. Not only this, he apologised for the mix up with the deposit, the balance of which has been sorted. On the whole this is a reasonably priced accommodation which could be fantastic with a few adjustments to practices. .......now for the original review........... This hotel is reasonably well positioned for the less questionable bar areas of Bangkok. It is reasonably cheap and is clean. The beds are comfortable and the rooms cool. The security may need a bit of work however. You are given a pass code for the outside door which they say will be locked after 10pm – it isn’t. You will be told there is a 24 hour reception service, there isn’t – if you try and phone from the room it is hit and miss that someone will answer and checking out can be a waiting game since it seems that they disappear upstairs leaving the lobby unguarded; this being an issue since I was told I could leave my suitcase there, which clearly spend a few hours at risk of being stolen. During one of the nights there was a strange situation where a young lady had let herself in to the hotel and was banging on the door opposite shouting out some guy’s name asking to be allowed in. He was clearly having none of it. I asked if there was a safe in the room. I was told that they would bring it up in a bit. This seemed very odd since when you consider the ease at which the safe was carried to the room; it would be just as easy for the safe to be carried from the room despite the extra weight of a passport inside. They will ask for a 500 Baht deposit and give you 200 back. You will be asked to sign a form to say that you understand that it is a non-smoking room so you promise not to smoke (which I had no intention of doing). I signed such an agreement then was shown to a room that smelt of stale smoke. I asked to be changed. The showers are cold. The photo on Booking.com does not represent the surrounding and size of the hotel at all honestly; it is actually down a back street.
Stayed at the this hotel for 4 nights. The hotel is a no frilla hotel. Simple yet functional. No breakfast served, no restaurant. Rooms are wide and spacious. Clean. Bed is comfortable enough. Toilets are big. Not an issue for taller and wider people. No elevators, though it only has 4 floors, it might be physically draining for some people - request for a room on the lower floors. What's very notable with the hotel is the staff's friendliness and willingness to make your stay special. As I have to work remotely while I was staying there, i chose to work on the outdoor area, all my needs were provided- a fan, an extension cord, even coffee! Its not expensive at all too!
The rooms are very clean and comfortable, also very big. Location is great, just 10mins walking from bts, and also very central city. Staff (Dear) is very welcoming and helpful, and nice and friendly! The hotel is cheap but still very good quality! Absolutely a good deal. Will come back for sure!
I stay for 2 day in this hotel look cool and quite . Budget hotel 10 miniute walk to skytrain Asok and subway Sukhumvit station all so near by shopping mall. And the staff very helpful and very nice she alway smile.
I stayed here while visiting my brother in Bangkok. The hotel was very clean and the staff very helpful. Nice sized rooms with plenty of air conditioning. It is also located very close to several good restaurants and the sky train, which is very useful for getting around the city. I would definately stay here on my next trip!
