I stayed here 17 months ago with my wife after Wyndham took over. It was essentially a shell with no restaurant and only the minimal of a bar (wine cellar had been removed). There has been a total renovation of the rooms and hallways and wifi is working. A Starbucks with limited hours was added but the place lacks any character. When I asked about a refrigerator for the room I was told $15/night but they were all out. Couldn't find a vending machine on the floor per sign and the bathroom sink was cracked. The rates vary from $89-$137/night for the same room on-line but I can't bring myself to go back to this once great hotel at the end of the month. Maybe if you want a totally quiet environment for a stay this is it and the personnel are great.

The hotel rooms have beer refurbished due to new ownership. The décor is stylish and monochromatic. the king-sized bed was extremely comfortable. There was some type of convention nearby for teenagers. While the large group as a whole was active and energetic, there was no disturbance to other guests.

Hunt Valley Inn has been an area icon for years. On this visit, I was pleased to see that Wyndham was refurbishing the place. I was displeased that no mention of it was made in their online posting. The entrance and lobby were being redone so check in (temp set-up in a ballroom) was a bit awkward as you couldn't park outside the main or temp entrance. And while I guess it was to give me a quiet room during the work, the hotel was more or less empty but I was given a room around the far back of this large, spread out hotel. The room was beautifully done but the hallways and stairs were a bit dirty/dusty because of the ongoing renovations. I wasn't able to sample much else. The staff was very accommodating and said that the main lobby reno work should be done by early Nov 2014. Easy on/off to I-83 and lots of dining options of all types nearby,

It's decent and nice but housekeeping needs major improvement.

I have stayed at the Hunt Valley Inn several times over the past few months when traveling for business. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff is generally helpful and pleasant. Wireless internet is good and fast. The overall hotel decor, which is currently quite jarring and rather dated, is about to be renovated starting next month, from what I understand--a much-needed facelift. Overall, a decent value, no complaints.

The hotel is very convenient to where we want to be. The room was a good size and had a great duvet and a well stocked bathroom. The problem was there was mold on the wall vent as well as shower tiles. The 2nd night the heat did not come on. There was only cool air so we just turned the whole thing off.

Fairly clean, good staff and would stay there again. It's starting to show a little wear, the cable TV went out twice but was fixed quickly and the beds were not comfy....they were a bit hard. That's the first time I've experienced that in a good hotel so I was a bit surprised....of course, it could have been just me.

stayed two nites. hotel was great. exercise room, indoor pool. huge lobby and friendly staff. Just off I-83. Would definitely stay again

The Hunt Valley Inn has been around for a long time. We lived in the area most of our lives and spent time there for parties, brunches and meetings so we know the place rather well. We have just sold our house and moved. We have used the hotel a few times when we have come to visit. The staff is great pleasant and helpful. The rooms are clean and the linens feel fresh. The hotel seems clean and neat and attended to. The only problem is the place is a little tired looking and really in the need of a face lift. The upholstery in the bar is worn badly. When I've stayed during the week it's seems like a ghost town and there is no place to eat etc. I understand that they are in the process of being sold so I hope this old girl gets a new lease on life. The location is good for us and they have kept up appearances so you don't really notice the decline unless you look closely.

The location is excellent, lots of stores and right off the highway, very easy to find. The stores in the area close at 10 pm. So we had to go to Greene Turtle, the service there was terrible. The room had no microwave or mini fridge, the hotel dining area is expensive & the food was nothing to brag about, theres no type of continental breakfast. This place was ok..the best thing about it was that the room seemed clean wich is always a GREAT thing but for some odd reason they dont use trash liners in the cans i dont get that!?!?

warm welcome, nice quiet room, bathroom clean but dated, ideal location with lots of restaurants, etc in the area.

Quiet in a good location, but needs to be updated

I stayed in this hotel about 4 or 5 years ago, and the operation was much better then. This was only 2 steps above Motel 6 quality

The gentleman ([...]) was the first to greet me and I was impressed right away and so was everyone else I came into contact with.

We stayed at the hotel for a sports tournament. We were given the worst rooms that smelled of old cigarette smoke and mildew. Staff not concerned about our comfort. The kids like the indoor/outdoor pool and although they were small and needed to be cleaned. We will not stay here again.

Consistent at a good value
