My wife & I visited this hotel in July. We wanted a serene & quiet place with lots of greeneries and this is exactly what we are looking for. The hotel staff are friendly, landscape is beautiful and it is located right opposite the Tegalalang rice terrace. Breakfast is simple but delicious. We enjoyed having meals at the dining area overseeing the lush greenery of Tegalalang.
This resort is so calmly located in Ubud high hill, the decorations of the room is so elegant and we rent Khrisna room so it's on the top floor view and it's just so good for relaxing and spending time together with your love one on the holiday
Head over heels loved my stay at Villa Sarna! It was my first time in Bali so I was unsure of what area I wanted to stay in. The location couldn't have been more perfect here, we totally lucked out. It's about a 15-20 minute drive from the center of ubud, which sounds like a hassle but after visiting the center of ubud it's the last place I'd want my guest house to be in. The location appears to be right in the middle of the jungle, walking distance to beautiful rice paddies, and a short drive to everything else in ubud. It was jaw droppingly beautiful. Ubud is a big place so you have to get around by car to see anything. Villa sarna offers free shuttles which is what makes it so perfect - you get to feel secluded while still being close to restaurants and other attractions. The property itself is stunning, every inch of the place is picturesque. The pool is small but very nice. The room was massive and beautiful. The staff was wonderful; kind and helpful. We even got to meet Mr. Sarna himself, he's a good man and it was an absoloute pleasure to meet him. He was able to get the Seahawks game on TV for us which more than I could have hoped for considering it was my 3rd month in Asia and I'm a football fan girl. The breakfast was killer and massive. I highly recommend this place to couples and solo travelers. Might not be ideal for small children since the pool is small and deep. I will most definitely be back! Hopefully next time there's some yoga too! ;)
Ubud was our final destination during our short holiday in Bali and we wanted to stay in a comfortable place away from the busy hustle of the city when we were there. Villa Sarna turned out to be the perfect choice for us. The villa is a little far away from the city center, but this is exactly what we were looking for. On our arrival we were greeting by the friendly staff with a cool drink. We wanted to head out to the city for lunch after check-in, but as it started to rain we decided to order room-service. It turned out that Villa Sarna had the best Balinese food that we had tasted so far. My husband had caught the flu by the time we reached Bali and so we decided to order in our next few meals as well and i must say that each dish that we tried was better than the other. The staff at the villa were really helpful as well and helped us arrange for a taxi to go sight seeing and also for the early morning trek to Mt.Batur. I would recommend this place to anybody who wants to spend a few quiet and comfortable nights in the midst of greenery.
We stayed at villa sarna for three nights in the brahma suit. Great location just outside of the busy centre of Ubud, don't be put off from its location as a free shuttle service is provided regularly which takes around 15 minutes. The hotel itself is very well kept with lovely views from our room. The staff were very attentive for the most part but we were a little disheartened when asked to be quiet when chatting on the balcony at around 5pm! One of the hotels drivers 'Madi' was particularly fantastic, very knowledgable and with outstanding English. Madi offers excursions which we thoroughly enjoyed- we couldn't recommend doing a tour with him more. Overall would definatly recommend a stay at villa sarna.
Reception was warm, room is nice, and spacious, breakfast options are limited yet healthy and tasty. These are all just normal expectations from a 4 starred hotel, but what sets Villa Sarna apart is the green serene surroundings, the ideal mix of orchids, anthuriums, and the flowers and plants surrounding the villas which give the feeling of staying in a forest. The downside I would say, staying in Villa Krishna would be the television, which is the old CRT one and very bulky. The air conditioner vents were leaking with water one night. The location of the exact hotel is around 5 km from Ubud central. This can be an issue to some travellers, but for us it was a boon rather than a curse, and it makes the stay quite peaceful with lot of privacy, and you can enjoy the nature more than a stay in the town. If u take a bike for rent(cheap even for Indian standard) things will be super easy. Overall we loved the experience at Villa Sarna
We stayed here for 2 nights in the vishnu room overlooking the valley and the jungle. We had a wonderfull time, the room was clean, the shower really good with plenty of hot water and the staff was really service oriented. Although the furniture of the rooms may look a bit old this only contributes to the atmosphere and does by no means say the bed is less comfy. There is a complementary shuttle bus going to the city center every 2 hours which makes sure that although you are quite far from ubud center you can go there easily. In all a wonderfull stay!
Villa Sarna is beautiful, comfortable, and a wonderful place to stay. The view from our room was exquisite and everything was clean and presented with thought and care. It's removed from the chaotic setting of central Ubud, and just down the street from a trailhead that leads straight into the rice terrace. Transportation and pickup from the airport are easily arranged and the communication before our stay was excellent and all questions were answered promptly. The staff is also terrific. It's really worth a visit to this place. It's very special.
Although the room didn't match the picture and there were no robes as promised, these were unimportant against the restful and magnificent view of the rainforest that greeted us each morning when we pulled back the curtain. It's cooler in this part of Bali, too cool to swim, and very peaceful but there's a regular free shuttle into town to visit markets and restaurants. Breakfast was good but forget dinner - I think it is brought in from another restaurant. WARNING- if steps are an issue, go somewhere else.
Friendly staff, clean and big rooms with a nice terrace. It's quiet and cozy and perfect if you want to get away from the buzz of Ubud Center. However if you want to go to the center they have a free shuttle service every 2 hrs that take about 25 min. Worked really good. An extra plus for the cute dog ! :)
