We booked and paid for 3 nights accommodation at the Princess Benoa Resort Nusa Dua Bali through Agoda (on Agoda it is the Princess Beach Resort Nusa Dua same hotel different name for booking id) booking was made on the 9th of July 2015 while we were in Ubud Bali this was one day before our intended arrival on the 10th of July 2015. The booking went through as normal and we received the booking confirmation email from Agoda with booking number and receipt. The next morning we hired a private Taxi to drive from Ubud to Nusa Dua it's a 90+ minute drive if you go the none tourist route from Ubud and use the bypass near the Airport the cost was 400,000 IDR. We left at 10-45am and arrived at the Princess Benoa Resort at 1-15am on arrival our driver said it looks very quiet as we could not drive into the entrance due to a portable barrier across the drive way. We said good by to the driver and proceeded to enter the resort it was very quiet looking indeed we entered the lobby area to be greeted by three Balinese staff, two ladies and one man who were sitting on the floor in front of the cafe between the lounge chairs, they were making offering baskets and had all the makings spread out to share. We were looked at as though we were aliens, as we approached them with all our bags they said closed! We thought it was a joke and proceeded to the Reception desk, it looked empty and on a closer look so did the cafe shelving which was void of cups, glasses, drinks, coffee machine etc. One of the staff approached us and in broken English tried to explain the Hotel was closed. After a long discussion and them making many failed phone calls we gathered that the Hotel finished cooperating on the 1st of July 2015 some 9 days earlier. The three staff we met were just looking after the property on a shift basis and had no authority or Access to files, computers etc. The Wi-Fi had been cut off and their land line phones were not able to make STD calls to mobiles or to the Agoda agent in Jakarta. As we had no Wi-Fi or Indonesian aim card in my phone we were unable to check availability of other hotels in the area so decided to go to our friends Hotel the Legian Village Hotel Legian Beach in Legian, we arrived unannounced and with no booking and got a room instantlyeven though their hotel was almost full due to Bali Airport being closed due to the Volcanic Ash cloud coming from Java. I contacted Agoda through their complaint email system the minute we dropped our bags in our room. They have in contact with me since and are investigating the problem and have apologised for this stuff up, Agoda are no way at fault as the Princess Benoa did not inform them of the closure. I am sure I will receive a full refund shortly as soon as Agoda can check out my story. This is one of those things that happen from time to time, first for me in 40 years but luckily I know Bali and had knowledge of hotels where we could head for in an emergency. Just happened to be when there were thousands of stranded passengers that were filling the hotels. Safe trevelling, take a deep breath and smile!

we stayed 2nights in last November. The guest was only with us, so able to spend nice peaceful and quiet time. the location was like the edge of the benoa area, but few restaurants near by and local shops too. some facilities would be needed to renovate but not to worry, they will start it from this january. Oka san, it was a great time talking with you, see you next time ! arigato

I booked 5 nights at the Princess Benoa Beach as a treat to myself after finishing a yoga retreat in Ubud. The webpage made it look luxurious and I was really excited about arriving there. I had read bad reviews a couple of days before hand and desperately hoped they were wrong, but when I got there I couldn't have been more disappointed. There are lots of comments about the location of the hotel; yes it is on the wrong side of the road, but its all the really expensive resorts that are the beach side of the road. Credit where credits due, this isn't in the same league or price bracket. When I arrived I asked to see the room first before paying. I was led to room 101. This is the first room when you get into the block, on the ground floor and the doors are two very rickety wooden patio doors that you could pull straight off. As a woman travelling on her own I wasn't happy about this so I asked to be moved. I was shown SIX other rooms that were not up to the standard I was paying for. Room 104 stank of stagnant water. In others the baths weren't clean, the wet room was over looked by a two storey building, there were curtains drawn to hide the view of a flowerbed used as a tip with a set of ladders in it. The bathtubs were outside in a pation made from mouldy moss covered plastic with rusty metal holding it up. All of the rooms were really noisy from the road. There is also an alleyway behind the buildings on the left which scooters were blasting up and down. I was shown an upstairs room where the bathroom, didn't have windows, it had shutters that overlooked the alley. The noise was horrendous. The man showing me round (who didn't speak English, which wasn't really helping the situation) tried to shut the shutters to block out the noise. They didn't shut properly. That pretty much summarises the whole hotel! I think the most shocking thing for me was the state of the sun loungers by the pool. The pool looked gorgeous. The cushions on the sun loungers were ripped, had stuffing hanging out and were mouldy. It just looked thoroughly unpleasant. I said I wasn't happy to stay in any of the rooms and wanted to speak to the manager. I was then told there wasnt a manager. Or a boss? Or anyone in charge? Nervous giggle. No, apparently not. I was told I wouldn't have to pay and so I used the hotels WiFi to find somewhere else to stay. I am now happily settled in at Ellie's Hotel, which whilst a taxi ride from the beach, is comfortable, charming and well maintained. Its also £10 a night compared to £35 at Princess Benoa Beach. I can genuinely not recommend the Princess to anyone. While my review may seem mean, I have been travelling around Bali now for 3 weeks and know what you can get for your money and Princess Benoa Beach just does not cut it.

Had a lovely stay here as the last location of our trip. We stayed for 3 nights. We were disappointed as the wifi was "having problems" when we stayed so we had no wifi for the duration of our stay which was not ideal as chose here because it had a pool & wifi! We wanted to check in online & contact home as it was the last place of our trip. Also for the price we paid we were disappointed as we were getting wifi in places alot cheaper! When we stayed here it was very quiet and often had the large pool to ourselves. I think there were 3 couples also in the resort one or two nights of our 3 night stay. Quiet & close to the beach, however not close to anything else really. There were a few convience shops next door and 2 restaurants across the road but if was a good 15 min walk to a bigger choice of restaurants. Which isn't bad of a daytime but dark of a nightime to walk as 2 girls alone. The room was lovely and clean, air con, fridge & tv all worked well. Bathroom was fab. Breakfast was nice.

It was around NYE when I stayed here so there area was very busy with mainly natives holidaying here which meant lots of busses blocking the flow of traffic into the area from Nusa Dua. The breakfast was good and the grounds looking great but thats about all it has going for it. So if you plan to stay here in peak season then prepare for it. You have to cross the road and walk through a hotel to access the beach. Not much to do up this end so we were up early for breakfast then off in the hire car to beat the long line of busses into the area. We found sleeping with ear plugs was best way to block out the air traffic. The in room safe was not working and the bathroom was dirty. There are porous limestone wall tiles in bathroom with many dirt stains. The service desk staff were helpful but when I wanted to negotiate the room rate or wanted to change rooms they referred me to the manager over the phone. Yes you guessed it there is only one manager whom is not on site early mornings or late evenings. After a long conversation and persistence he finally agreed to lower the rate due to the room not to the standard as advertised. We felt trapped here and will not be staying up this end unless staying at one of the bigger hotels on the beach. Personally we have stayed at much nicer hotels at cheaper rates so will not be staying again. Somethings you should know so no surprises: - lots of air traffic noise - can take half an hour to Nusa Dua in taxi because of the tour buses blocking road - renovation of bathroom needed - bathrooms nothing like photos - hotel photos not showing current condition of hotel - view room before paying - decking around pool is lifting in some areas so tree carefully - wifi only accessible at reception or by the pool not in room - very small bar fridge - large firm bed

I was stayed in this Hotel and being moved from one room to another and from my opinion the room they had are big enough but not clean and more there's something smells like gas or their safety tank inside the room, I can't sleep that night and decide to check out next morning, really BAD PLACE!!

We have stayed in Princess only coulpe of nights between parts of our trip. Nice place to rest, with very friendly service. Room was spacious and rather clean. The hotel provides very good value especialiy if you don't need a place directly on the beach (you have to cross a local road and some buildings to go to see the sea)

On 28/05/09 I booked and paid in full for 5 night’s accommodation at Princess Benoa Beach Resort Bali which starts on 17/07/09. It was done through online tour operator Bali.Indo.com. I got e-mail confirmation from this tour operator (Ketut Sudaya) that my reservation was confirmed by this hotel. Later I got a few e-mails from Ketut Sudaya where she offers to me to rent a car, to arrange tours in Bali. Last one she sent On 16/07/09 morning where she offers to me the airport transfers service. I refused all these offers as her price was more than it cost in Bali. I had evening flight on 16/0709. I checked my e-mail before go and found one more e-mail from Ketut which coming 20 min before where she informed me that the hotel Princess Benoa will move me to other hotel for 2 nights and then the rest of my stay I will back. She said it is caused by the owner of this hotel who will use my room. I couldn’t do something, it was too late. When I arrived in Princess Benoa a reception said the hotel has not any room for me. I was not agree to move to other hotel as I paid $69USD for one night at Princess Benoa and other hotel best deal cost $30USD for one night. And I don’t want to spend my short holiday for packaging my luggage. One hour late staff after phone conversation with the owner found for me a room just for one night and promised to refund me rest of my accommodation by cash next morning. At the morning they refused to refund me by cash and I spend a half day to found other place to stay and to get owner’s and tour’s operator confirmation that they will refund me by Direct Credit on my credit card during a few weeks. I was back to Auckland and waiting for this refund 3 weeks. I sent a few e-mail to Ketut. First her answer was I should wait 5 weeks. After 5 weeks she did not answer me at all. I applied to Dispute Department of my credit card. After all I got my money back. So NEVER USE INDO.COM and NEVER STAY at PRINCESS BENOA.
