This hotel will not disappoint in terms of its cleanliness, modern appearance, friendly staff and top notch security (every time you walk into the hotel you need to walk through and place bags through a security screening, almost like at the airport, I liked this a lot. Made me feel extra safe). Rooms are pretty big and spacious enough for two people. Three people in a standard room could be pushing it's limits. Bathroom is at the very entrance of the room, which I found to be a little odd. Balcony is definitely a highlight, I loved the day beds and the bath out on the balcony, very relaxing. Buffet breakfast was delicious, there is a HUGE range of cuisines and food choices. Milkshake and smoothie bar and pancake stations were a highlight. Quality is also very good. Pool area is nice, very big and the swim up bar is always a bonus. Although I did enjoy these aspects of the hotel the location and the overall concrete jungle vibe was a huge factor into why I probably would not stay here again. Because the street its situated on is a one way street, to get to the front the taxi will have to take you all the way around Kuta to drop you off. This can sometimes be a 40-50 minute trip from Seminyak at night in peak hour traffic. Also because it is so hot in Bali sometimes you just really cannot be bothered walking and it was not ideal to sit in a cab for so long either. That was my only hate with this hotel. Although it is across from the beach there is no beach view. The inside is very much like a concrete jungle. I personally prefer the resort feel. Overall good stay but would not be back, unfortunately the location was the biggest let down for me.
We checked in on the 14th of September, 4 adult female friends to share 2 rooms with twin share beds (this was requested nearly 12 months ago when we booked). Arrived at the hotel to find they had issued us with 2 x king bed rooms. They said the hotel was fully booked and they could not fulfil our request for twin beds, a bit awkward when we are all friends and not really wanting to share beds! The request had been ignored because apparently Expedia booking requests are not honoured. We requested a premier pool view room, instead we were issued with a ground floor room with it's own pool (plunge) which we didn't want, we wanted the balcony so all of us could hang out together. Again, we couldn't change. Very disappointed that we had never been advised prior to arrival that they could not accommodate twin bedding, imagine if we were 4 men travelling together!! Not good enough Stones Hotel. They couldn't even offer us a free breakfast but offered to discount it by 50% still making it $17AUD per person which by Bali standards is still expensive for some eggs on toast. No thank u.
We stayed here for a week and the service was superb from everyone. The staff were very attentive at all times. The food was absolutely great my husband and I loved it and the pool was to die for. Would recommend the In Love cocktails as well!!!
Stayed here for our 3rd time in 2 years. Last stayed in August last year and had a few issues. Received an email from manager expressing sincere apologies. This time around we stayed for my partners 30th birthday. Staff were amazing. We were staying at another hotel for first 2 nights and we asked to come stay a night earlier. Even though hotel was extremely busy they were very accomodating and were even able to get a pool view room for the extra night. Special mention to sa-lu at front desk. Made checking in so easy and stress free. Went out of his way to make a hand made birthday card with a lovely comment. Had balloons and a birthday cake in the room waiting for us after a day out. Baron on front desk arranged late check out as flight was delayed which was excellent. Played a little game with the cleaners left a small tip with a note asking to create some special towel animals and each day had something new to find in the room. Had rose petals spelling out 30th birthday on the bed as well as a rose petal filled bath. Overall felt staff went out of our way to make us feel special. Even though hotel was fully booked pool boys were prompt to clear chairs so could always find a free chair. Breakfast was amazing spread best I've seen so far. This is by far our favourite hotel and will only want to stay here again if coming to Bali. Thanks for making my partners birthday a fantastic day could not take the smile off her face. Highly recommended for the bit more u pay is worth it. Thanks again
WOW! The pool alone is a reason to stay at this hotel. I stayed for three days and it was definitely magical. The hotel is top notch for security and my local guests were asked to bring ID. The only thing I would change is the food. It was a bit pricey and not that great.
This hotel is amazing!! We unfortunately booked our stay at another hotel which whilst it had stunning rooms had a very average pool. After a quick phone call to management at the Stones we made our way there so excited to be able to enjoy their amazing facilities for such a reasonable minimum spend. We identified ourselves at the pool bar as only 'day resort guests' but were treated like we were proper full paying patrons of the hotel. The staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough to make sure we had everything we needed. The cocktails were reasonably priced and delicious!! Honestly I was blown away by how welcome the hotel made us feel even though we were only day visitors. I was so impressed I'm organizing a girls trip in May 2018 and yes we will be booking the Stones!!! Thank you so much for a fabulous day!!!
This hotel has to have some of the best staff that I've encounted throughout our travels, from reception, house keeping and restaurant staff. Very professional and friendly. There wasn't enough that they could do to make our stay enjoyable. It's our first time there but we will certainly be returning.
We were in Kuta for 2 nights and stayed here. We were greeted with popsicles and offered an upgrade bc of our Gold status with Marriot. The room was huge with a balcony and tub on it. The bed is very comfortable and we slept great. The pool is great and we enjoyed lounging there. This is a nice place to stay in Kuta and is right across from the beach. Our room came with breakfast and we enjoyed that as well. Would definitely recommend it, especially for the price.
I went to Bali with my husband for our honeymoon and we stayed at the Stones and what I can simply say is that it was the perfect place to spend our holiday! The hotel is perfect in every way; the staff is very friendly and professional, the rooms are extremely clean and tidy, the food at the restaurant is delicious and most of all the pool is wonderful. I advise you all to try the drinks at the pool bar, super tasty:) Thank you The Stones for making our stay at Bali better than expected!
Stayed here with my sister and mother for mums 74th birthday and organised a package deal through the Marriott website. Package included breakfast, 2 x dinners, 1 x high tea. The breakfast staff were amazing and the manager organised a 'despicable me' cake and singing for breakfast on mum's birthday which she loved. The management clearly run a 'tight ship' for the breakfasts as the selection and freshness are to die for with everything you could possibly want and more. The dinners do fall short with the Indonesian buffet very average. The seafood buffet was awesome and good value for money. Unfortunately the rooms aren't sound proof and you can hear everything that is happening in the corridors and in the rooms next door. Our rooms were on the third floor and opposite where the workers get linen etc and on our first morning the noise, chatter and laughter was extremely loud at 7am in the mornings which is not a great wake up call. I brought this to the attention of the check in staff and this never happened again. The gym was amazing with modern clean equipment and lots of it. The pool had the same issues as most hotels with guests placing towels on chairs and not using these till much later in the day, this needs to be policed! My only suggestion is that on check in guests are advised of where things are in the hotel and also that there is also a pool area at the front of the hotel which is "EMPTY"and has the same facilities as in the hotel (i.e. food, little plunge pools, cocktails). It does however need painting and the rust attended to as it is looking a little tired
