Always a pleasure going back to this hotel. It is getting a bit worn with age but everything still works in the room, the breakfast is varied and interesting, and the pools are fantastic. The staff couldn’t be more pleasant and helpful.
There was nothing to like about a facade, you are basically presented with an entrance thats magical but the inside is a building thats almost dilapidated.
Huge room with large king bed with comfortable matress and quality bedding. Beautiful furniture and wonderful views. Hotel gardens are full of wonderful statues and exotic trees and plants. Large pool area with comfortable chairs and sun beds. Only thing i can complain about is the food. Of all the places we ate on Bali during our 14 night stay the hotel so called sea food was by far the worst. Sea food soup with No sea food amongst other things. I have a photo of What i ate and none of the dishes look like the pictures in the menu.
Check-in at open air reception was slow and the staff seemed confused with our reservation. Check-in at 2pm, but there was a wait for our room of over an hour. Then, we had to walk all our luggage out to the cottage, altho we did get assistance with the heaviest bag. The room was comfortable. The bathroom had a distinct mold odor, moldy tiles, sink fixtures rusty, and the water boiling carafe was moldy and dirty and still unusable after we attempted to clean it. Bathroom amenities were not replaced, but we did get two bottles of water a day, and they did clean the room, make the beds and replaced towels daily if requested.
Beautiful setting (grounds and location near beach) and reasonable cost. Very helpful on very late checkin (drove me to my unit). However, signage is horrible and I had no map. Thus, I had extreme difficulty finding breakfast or the main building (and was told that breakfast was the same in small outdoor building as it was in the main building only to find out later that was not true -- although even the breakfast at the small location was decent). Also, I had confirmed an airport pickup via email with the hotel and they not only did not send anyone but had no record of the request (and since I came in at 11:15 pm, it was a real hassle to find alternate transportation). All in all, I would stay here again because of beautiful setting, but I would definitely ask for directions and figure out another way to get there since you can't rely on the hotel.
Breakfast was included and was great. Grounds are gorgeous and right next to ocean. Facilities not amazing by US standards- some wood was creaky, only 2 elevators working. Our shower head sprayed water at a weird angle and wicked water to floor, and it wasn't adjustable. This was our first trip to Indonesia, and we were surprised how some things in the hotel weren't the same as back home. But this is to be expected, and we were very satisfied with our stay overall.
Bathroom in serious need of upgrade Overall very nice and that's all
