So, hiccups happen and there’s not a single one of us who can say we’re perfect. And when I communicated our hiccups with Shoes Off’s property manager, they went to work and didn’t stop until everything was flipped rightside up again. In fact, they managed everything so well I absolutely can say BHI Services just raised the bar wayyy up there, and they did so with ease. That said, this was about my 15th year visiting the island, and there will be many, many more to
come. Shoes Off stands out all on its own. The house is lovely and filled to the brim with all the things that make their home your home, inside & out. The views from this house are extraordinary, and this is one of my main goals when looking for my rental each year. And the well-thought out upper level deck space — open, covered, and screened — gives so many comfortable and thoroughly enjoyable options with sturdy Adirondack chairs & footrests and tables to rest your book on while you nap (because thats gonna happen). Oh, and the hammock... fuhget about it! Pure Heaven. Our week brought us plenty of rain, and except for the one or two sideways deluges, sitting outside under the covered decks watching the rain and listening to the ocean and treefrogs made it that much more magical.
