It looks nicer in the pictures. The check in process was very long. They take a deposit of 100$ for a hotel that was not very nice. They give you a code to the room instead of a key card. To access the parking lot in the back was a long process too as you have to call to be buzzed in. The room had a very strong paint or wet carpet smell. Very unpleasant. They didn’t allow outside food even tho the rooms were all stained and dirty anyways. Won’t be staying here again, it’s ugly. Don’t recommend at all.

Disabled vet with service dog was not welcome.
Despite having a reservation and California law that requires accommodations for disabled persons, we were not allowed to check in because my husband is a disabled vet who requires a service dog. We were told at the front desk that service animals are not allowed. We were forced at the last minute to find another place to stay. If you care about the rights of the disabled, stay somewhere else.

Will not stay here again.
Reservation was for a King Superior non-smoking room. Got a room with two double beds. Door to the parking lot was propped open and entry way lined with upholstered chairs. Interior hallways smelled of solvent or oil based paint. Handrails not installed on both sides of the stairs between floors. The parking was inside a gated controlled access area. Parking area is not very well laid out and very irregular shaped due to the building layout. Shower was warm for entire shower. Water warmed up a little by the end of my shower.

This hotel has been in Bakersfield a long time. This is the first time we stayed at it. We have moved from the area and only come back to visit. Always looking for something reasonable, clean, convenient. Loved the old trees around the area. The entire staff was so helpful and friendly we appreciate them all. Sadie, the day hostess was very helpful and welcoming.
