My family has stayed at Maxwelton Braes for four generations. During those 60+ years, the resort has had its ups and downs. A decade ago, it had gotten rundown - and ended up shuttered. I'm delighted to report that it has reopened with new owners who have put a great deal of care (and money) into the place. While they have retained all the historic beauty and charm, they have replaced the carpeting throughout, added much-needed dehumidifier/air conditioners to each room, and are even paying attention to the small details like quality toiletries. Our stay was exceptional; we were treated well at every turn, the staff was accommodating and friendly, and our needs were well-met. I look forward to going back next year!

Overpriced, facility is set up for golfing. We are not golfers.

Thank you so much for your kind words. It has been a joy to work on updates and to be able to retain the charm and character of the past. We look forward to hosting you and your daughter again in the future
