Beautiful historical mansion refurbished into 16 room inn. It was like staying in a museum. Staff was fantastic, friendly and very accommodating. Looking forward to staying there again.

Wonderful in every way

Absolutely lovely place to stay! Every square inch was immaculately clean, the staff were all friendly and had great suggestions for local activities, breakfast was delicious, each room--guest rooms and common areas--were fun to explore. .. I truly can't think of a thing I would change. We also had fun making friends with Boo the cat, who lives next door and is a regular fixture in the parking lot. He is wary enough that cat-averse guests wouldn't need to go out of their way to avoid him, though. Even as a Clevelander, I'd never spent any time in Painesville or the surrounding communities. The beaches were beautiful, and there were more parks than we could've counted. Fairport Harbor had lots of cute shops, and the Fairport Harbor Creamery was good enough that we had no choice but to go two days in a row. If we were looking for another easy vacation spot, we'd happily go back in a heartbeat.

The restoration was impressive, to say the least! Room was fine as far as comfort. The only real issue, was that the room was very poorly soundproofed, and was situated next to the stairs to the third floor. Foot traffic from the stairs telegraphed into our room all night long. Ugh! Made it almost impossible to sleep. So, overall, decent hotel. Just don't rent anything on the second floor on the stair side of the hotel. We were in 203, quite possibly the worst room in the place. Third floor or non-stairway side on the second floor.

We had an amazing time. It was a suprise for my wifes birthday. She loves old places with history, character and architecture. She was in love at first site. The staff was so kind and helpful. They even helped with a few suprises for her birthday. Overall will definitely be going back 😁😀👍

The Steele Mansion in Painesville, Oh was wonderful. All the staff was great. There are 15 rooms and each one is unique. They are decorated in 1800 style which is beautiful. The free breakfast is very good. There is so much to see in this mansion. Look it up and you will be amazed!
