The restoration was impressive, to say the least! Room was fine as far as comfort. The only real issue, was that the room was very poorly soundproofed, and was situated next to the stairs to the third floor. Foot traffic from the stairs telegraphed into our room all night long. Ugh! Made it almost impossible to sleep. So, overall, decent hotel. Just don't rent anything on the second floor on the stair side of the hotel. We were in 203, quite possibly the worst room in the place. Third floor or non-stairway side on the second floor.

We had an amazing time. It was a suprise for my wifes birthday. She loves old places with history, character and architecture. She was in love at first site. The staff was so kind and helpful. They even helped with a few suprises for her birthday. Overall will definitely be going back 😁😀👍

The Steele Mansion in Painesville, Oh was wonderful. All the staff was great. There are 15 rooms and each one is unique. They are decorated in 1800 style which is beautiful. The free breakfast is very good. There is so much to see in this mansion. Look it up and you will be amazed!

The Steele Mansion is a really special spot. I love its history and its genesis: it has its roots in the city's foundations and is linked with Lake Erie College across the street. Eventually it got sold, went into rentals, then vacancy. The owners have lovingly restored it from a shell to a gorgeous, pristine and comfortable place to stay.

Even Better Than I Hoped!
