I chose this hostel because I had an early and late flight so it was a good place to stay, for one night, next/near to the Skybus stop. Bad points: There is no free wifi, the rooms are smelly and dirty. No light or plug next to the beds. The bathrooms are not very clean and/or broken and the kitchen is dirty. Is it because of the customers and/or of the staff? I don't know but I don't think I will come back.

Booked a room with two single beds, when I get to the room, turns out there is just one double bed, which is inappropriate as I am staying with my brother. I go to reception and asked to be put elsewhere, I get a much smaller room with a bunk bed. Room was tiny, and bunk bed was unstable, made heaps of noise when getting on and off, and swayed heaps. There were no rails for the top bunk, and the wood holding the top bunk up was loose, looked unsafe. I ended up staying elsewhere for my trip, and because there is a no refund policy, meant I was out of pocket for the accommodation I had already paid for, but didn’t use. Customer service wasn’t awful, but could be better. I have previously stayed here and it was fine, but this time was a complete let down.

I booked a private room. But the walls are so thin, I could hear all the conversation in the other rooms. Besides that, the kitchen is small by the number of guest. there isn´t a luggage store. If you need to check out early, you don´t have any place to leave your baggage since the place where you can leave your baggage opens at 09:00am.

I am sorry that I need to be frank. I chose Nomad as I have bought accommodation package voucher with Kiwi Experience Bus, but I regretted a lot and I switched to YHA later on. Female dorm costs $30 a night, bus facilities are poor like a dirty & small disorganized kitchen, shower room for both female & male is also not so clean and wifi is not free in the dorm. I switched to YHA which is also near airport Skybus but it costs only $22.5 per night!! but with clean large kitchen, independent shower room and is much cleaner.

Central location and super helpful staff. Mad travel next door got excellent deal for hire car. Room was very basic and airless, only good for sleeping! Lots of good eating places nearby, good because kitchen facilities squishy!

Loved how affordable it was and how close to city center it is! Beds were really comfortable and the staff were the nicest people you will ever meet! Met some really cool German people who will now be lifelong friends

The beds were Horrible, I actually got bitten. They were also the most squeaky bunks I've ever slept in. Doors were very load all night long. Very noisy until about 5am from the street. Very dirty and unhygenic! Never coming back

I stayed here in May - the room was very cramped and the sheets were stained. The kitchen is tiny and it takes about a year to get up to (lift). You have to keep an eye on your food all of the time because pesky birds are always flying around! It's okay for a few nights if you're not fussy and it's near the kiwi experience pick-up/drop off stop. I wouldn't recommend long term stay - there's cheaper/cleaner hostels in Auckland with wifi etc.

Staying in a 10 bed dorm is pretty cramped and messy at times. The beds could be better. Great communal kitchen with everything you need and clean showers and toilets. Good atmosphere and an ideal place to meet new people. Value for money.

I had booked two nights here a couple of months previously and when I arrived they said they had no record of me on their system. I showed them my confirmation email and they said they would see what they could do. I said I had no problem rebooking if they had any spaces left but the man at the counter said that they were full but they would ‘throw someone out’. At this point I left as I was put in an awkward situation and didn’t want it to go any further. All in all, a pretty bad experience as I was left to find another place to stay that night which wasn’t ideal as it was after 9pm
