Jucy Snooze

Stayed on the night of 10th October. I Checked in at 9.00pm after a 3 hour exhausting drive to Auckland. After The guy behind the desk took my payment for the room he then asked for my license which i had forgot. HE THEN ASKED ME TO LEAVE AND THAT I WILL NOT BE CHECKING IN. I have stayed here many times before and my profile was even on the system. Obviously this staff member is not trained in reading let alone customer service. He then apologized to another guest for my behavior which was not in all disruptive. Its a shame one staff member can ruin the reputation of the place but this was beyond rude and as management I would hope you act fast on this before you get many more negative reviews. You would get better service at a one star hostel down the road. This place has sunk. I'm ashamed that I have recommended Jucy to people before.

This is a really good budget option if you just want a place to crash in Auckland City. A warm friendly welcome by the helpful staff, and the parking option is very cheap and convenient. The location is fantastic and you can walk to all the best spots around Auckland City like The Viaduct, Britomart, Sky Tower etc, the area is fun to walk around day or night. Very close to some lovely cafes and restaurants to suit every taste and budget. I took my 14 year old twins to Auckland for a night and stayed in a quad room which was basic but all we needed. Unfortunately you can hear almost every noise, but if travellers are just a little bit thoughtful after 10pm you would get a good night's sleep. Sadly while we were there a couple of European men arrived about 2.30am and thought it was OK to stomp through the building, slamming doors and talking loudly, then have a sit down outside the rooms and have a big loud chat. Reception staff eventually did ask them to quieten down but only after I complained. Would suggest anyone coming in late is asked by staff to be quiet and thoughtful. That said, if you do stay here just be thoughful of other guests if you arrive after 10pm! Would definitely stay again though, and recommend to travellers and families for a short stay at very reasonable rates. Pics are from around the area.

An awesome place to stay, So close to everything in Aucklands CBD, Really friendly staff who were very helpful whenever i had a query or needed to know how to get somewhere, The room was very clean and comfortable as was the bathroom, Id have no problem recommending Jucy Snooze Auckland as a great place to stay to any of my friends who are heading up North.

Well-placed in a quiet square very close to the bottom of Queen Street. Staff friendly and helpful. Building is functional and smart-hostel style. No lifts so some stairs to carry luggage up. Rooms basic and a bit weary but pretty clean, beds were comfortable, and the place was quiet at night. Points off for a) hairs found on the duvet and spare pillow b) the broken window latch which meant noise and cold air could not be shut out! This looked like it had been broken a while. This is a very economical but safe, convenient and clean place to stay in Auckland CBD, and I would stay here again.

nice hotel in the city if you like backpacking or normal rooms with shower/heater/tv etc,no restaurant but 5 mins walk into town centre and close to all you will need and also the pier is close by-walking uphill to the hotel is good exercise and parkland is close also,5 min walk to skybus to airport was great as well-handy to everything.

I knew not to expect much from this no frills place BUT, I overestimated even with that. I realize that staying in a big city is expensive, and this was cheap, but it was really not worth it and I have stayed in a wide range of places in my life. Definitely more of a young persons/back packers kind of place with some private rooms. To be fair, check in was fine and the staff is very nice and helpful. It reminds me of an old creaky noisy dorm and the rooms are like cells. A bed, a little table and a small rack with 4 hangers. No mirror, chair, radio, clock, or bedside lamp. Since I never turn the tv on, It didn't bother me that there wasn't one here. The shared toilets down the hall are fine with me except that the sinks are with the showers, so if they are being used, there is no where to wash your hands. I heard murmurs of "no hot water" but it was ok when I took a shower though to be on the safe side, I was very quick. No towels are in the room but you can get one with a $5 refundable deposit. The windows do open but very noisily. Lots of hall noise as well without any thing to dampen it. Bring your earplugs. Box spring and mattress on the floor was not too uncomfortable though not great. The location is good for walking the town, though a little hard to find. Really convenient to Univ. of Auckland. The rooms are on several floors with no lifts. It did seem clean and secure. 30 minutes free wifi per 24 hour period, only in the lounge. There is a tv and kitchen facilities to share there. It was a learning experience for sure. Next time it will be airbnb for me, even if they are a little farther out.

The location is great, close to pubs, restaurants, Queen street, shopping, buses, train station and the ferry terminal. Place was clean and staff very friendly. Room is basic but bed comfortable and the place was warm. Only problem is the acoustics as this is an older style building. Sound travels and the old floor doors squeak and room door locks bang shut from guests use can be heard on the third floor and from the floors below including guests in the lounge & kitchen; chopping and cooking downstairs. At night such noise can concern some guests. The facilities however were fine.

Great location very central with car park which was a bonus. Comfy beds great shower & toilet Super for friends visit to Auckland definitely recommend Wifi in communal areas & 24 hour reception who were friendly & helpful

We booked and ensuite room after staying in the newly built Christchurch location in Jan. It is not as new or purpose built as the Christchurch hotel/hostel but for $85 for a large ensuite room with very helpful staff who go above and beyond I can't complain. It's very clean and warm.

Needed somewhere to stay last minute, just for the night, close to downtown Queen Street - and this was the best option. Good price point and I was still able to get a private room with my own bathroom. Super close to where I needed to go, easy to find from public transport. Nice and quiet, felt safe and secure. Was able to store my bag during the day while I was at a meeting - staff super helpful and friendly. Perfect spot for a quick stay for a solo traveller - would recommend!
