Greeted with super friendly staff. The girl on the reception (think she was American) was so nice and informative. However the room smelt so bad. It was okay once we had some air flowing in from the window but that shouldn’t really have to be the case. Showers were also pretty gross smelling and mouldy around the top. Didn’t even go in the kitchen and lounge as it was always full of noisy people. Pretty noisy during the night and early morning too with very creaky beds. HOWEVER, the location is so central so if you don’t mind paying for what you get then this place is ideal for exploring the city. Within walking distance of everything. Also the wifi was really good and secure parking was a bonus too! And all the bedding was clean.
The only positive about this place is the fact that it is so central to the CBD. Our room was dark, damp smelt like mould. I have also arrived home with bites all over my legs which I can only pin point to the room we stayed in. Would not recommend JUCY snooze.
My friend recommended this place to us for our over nighter for Ed Sheeran, I’m glad that was all it was! We booked a double room and they booked a twin. Our key card didn’t work, we weren’t shown how to work the lights, our tv didn’t work, and the smell! I woke up after an hour being unable to breath properly from the chemicals they had used to clean the place. Opening the window helped but if that wasn’t bad enough.. our sink dripped and flooded the bathroom floor. Lastly when I turned the shower on I found out it didn’t just spray forward but across the room in all directions.. probably the lowest quality place I’ve stayed in. We paid $160 and vowed to never stay there again! Not worth it in he slightest. If you do book go for a twin room which my sister got.. their room had none of what we had and was cheaper!
Had a nice time with this hostel. Though its a little bit of a workout to reach them, as you gotta climb a small hill. Had a difficult time since Im with a 20kg luggage, but without it, its fine. Its a 15min walk from Queens street but since its spring, we dont mind. We appreciate the workout though. Just be a lil bit quiet at night as you might disturb the folks next door. The room we took was a 3bed room, but shared bathroom. The 2 bathrooms were down the hall; it's big and clean. They also open their kitchen very early. We're lucky that there's not much of visitors back then, so we had the kitchen, couches, basically the whole 'sala' to us (we're just 2). Unfortunately, the room doesnt have a TV and the door, its so heavy, it creaks. It's not that far from the marina, so you can appreciate the sailboats and their marine museum there and get a chance to understand their history.
Self machine check-in and check-out, unfriendly staff, pay 15 NZD for parking, dirty bathroom, mini room. Backpacker lodges offer a much better value for money. Next to airport but far from downtown. Would not stay here again. The worst during our New Zealand trip.....
The location is awesome, staff were super friendly but it was so noisy! The doors are really loud when they close and there really isn't a way to close them quietly so you can hear people basically all night long. Also people smoke on the patios with the doors open so all the smoke wafts down the hallway or into the rooms with open windows which was a little unpleasant. I would stay for the location but that's about it. The room seemed clean but the carpet was really dark so a little questionable...
I have stayed here for one night. This was a group tour so I did not book it, it was the operator. We had a two bed room. The room was decent size but very-very basic. The bathroom was also okay, nothing special also very basic. They only give you a soap there is not shower gel (I missed it, but is me...) The hotel - or more like hostel - is located centrally, so if you do not want to do anything else but only sleep, you might consider it. (I am over 40 so I tend to go for a hotel.) The staff was very nice. There is no breakfast.
It is only 5 min walk from the Spark arena so a great stay if you need to go there. Parking underneath is great too as everything else is close by so can be walked. Good restaurants / cafes at Britomart close by. The rooms with the ensuites have aircon which was great for muggy summer nights! We booked 3 rooms a long time ago and one of them was a cheap twin with shared bathroom which was at the very bottom of the building where it was a bit dungeon-like. That was perfectly fine, however, we later found out that they had the same rooms also a level up and we felt that we could have been given one of them instead given that we spent $400 there and booked 6 months in advance. Will request that next time. We also heard from our friends that they couldnt turn off the aircon as it was too high up and no remote so they were very cold. Other than that a great stay! Tip: Get a room at the bottom level. However, there is a great little outdoor area on that level to sit and have a BYO drink with friends instead of spending a fortune at cafe's!
We stayed here one night as we were going to a concert at Spark Arena. We booked a private double room. The room was nice and clean, it was a great location, 5 minute walk to the stadium. We had a double bed with a single bunk above. My only complaint would be that I kept hitting my head on the bunk above, when I sat on the bed and when I was in bed and I'm only 5'3. Would be great to have a chair that you could sit on. Bathroom was clean, staff were very friendly. I would stay again, just have to make sure I have a room that doesn't have a bunk in it lol.
Great budget accommodation, very central Location. Close to britomart, airport bus services and Queen St. I have stayed here twice in a private room with ensuite. The facilities are getting a little dated/worn but will happily book again if coming to Auckland as it is only a 5 mon walk to the stadium.
