Jucy Snooze

It's a decent location, just 5mins from the main Queen Street. Countdown (Woolworths) is 5mins down the road and the SkyBus shuttle drops off 10mins down the road. The rooms are adequate, spacious but got very cold at night! The bathrooms seemed clean but very dated, same with the kitchen - clean but old. The average guest seemed to go along with the building too, as its majority 30yr olds plus. So if it's making travelling friends and partying it's probs not your scene. If you're wanting a tidy, easy stay then this will do the job

It has it's location going for it, but that's about it. Inside it smelt like my nan's house and the bed was pushed up against the wall, as well as really uncomfortable (my partner slept on the floor it hurt his back that badly). We were in a private en suite room and it just was not set up for 2 travellers. Considering we stayed at their sister property in Christchurch the night before, the difference was drastic. The Chch hotel was slick and felt clean and airy, the Auckland one just felt rather depressing and grimy. The car park is really awful, it's underground and tiny. I realise that space is at a premium in the city centre, but even our tiny rental car struggled to manoeuvre into the position we were assigned, plus to pay $15 for the experience seemed like a bit of a kick in the teeth. If you have anything larger than a golf cart I'd suggest finding an alternative nearby car park. My other gripe is the fact we had to pay $10 for wifi, whereas it was free in their Christchurch property. If they can do it free at one location I don't see why they can't in the other, plus it was really rubbish and slow. On this trip I have been relying on wifi to catch up with my family and plan routes for the following day, but the connection wasn't strong enough to Skype. I wouldn't stay here again. It would probably be acceptable for solo travellers or backpackers, but even with my fairly low standards I was disappointed.

Very basic backpacker-type accommodation with private rooms available. Excellent location. Must pay for wi-fi unless sitting in reception area: owner should reconsider as free wifi is the norm now for almost every kind of accommodation.

Jucy Snooze on Emily Place is a conveniently located basic necessities hotel in downtown Aukland. The room was neat with clean bedsheets and towels and shower with hot water. The room also had plenty of instant coffee and tea bags for in-room hot beverages after showering. Although we were only in the room at night, the television with new zealand cable was a bit lacking, but not a big deal. Jucy Snooze hotel was conveniently located in downtown Aukland and walking distance to the pier. The various staff manning the front desk were extremely helpful especially organising and reserving a diesel fuel minibus rental for my party of 6 to be returned in 16 days at Queenstown instead of Aukland.

I thankfully was only staying here for one night - I would've checked out early otherwise. When I arrived the woman on front counter was unfriendly and unhelpful. Room smelt stale and horrible. Bathrooms didn't feel clean. If you want any extras it'll cost you - wifi, early check in, late check out etc ... everything seemed to be a money milker. At the very least the location was good. Would not stay here again or recommend it to friends.

great location and very clean. Staff were very helpful and friendly. great to have a reasonably priced car park in the middle of the city. This hotel is only five minutes walk from the viaduct. The room was spacious and had a fan.

Good stay for a low budget hotel. Location is perfect to explore the city. For a quick stop over absolutely ok. The shared Shower and Toilets could be renovated. Friendly service personell. Quick check-in and check-out.

We planned to stay at Jucy Snooze for 3 nights however checked out of our private room with bathroom after the first night. It was very noisy, the beds were uncomfortable and the bathroom had a musky smell (there was no ventilation or windows). The reception staff were very unsympathetic to our concerns when we checked out. If you want a super cheap, centrally located hostel and can sleep through anything in an uncomfortable bed, this place can work for you. I would recommend spending a little more money and finding something different though.

Stayed here for 1 night. Being 3 senior adults the main thing that we didn't know about was the flight of stairs we had to carry our bags up. To be fair the man behind the desk offered to help but we refused, being the independent people we are! It was basic but you get what you pay for. We stayed at the motel side, the other side being a back packer hostel. No air conditioning or ceiling fans. Did have tea and coffee making facilities. Close to Auckland central so good location.

If like us you want somewhere clean and comfortable to sleep, Jucy Snooze is the PERFECT hotel with a city centre location and somewhere to park your car. Yes it's a hostel, (albeit with older guests than you would expect) but the room had everything you would get at the Hilton, except perhaps for a chocolate on your pillow. It is perfectly located a 10 minute walk from Queen Street and about 15 minutes from the Harbour which has bars and restaurants to suit every taste and budget. I would definitely stay there if ever I was back in Auckland.
