The room was perfectly fine burt it had three flies in it when I arrived. I was able to kill (2) of them before I went to bed and then the last just before leaving in the morning. I hate flies.
The bed was so comfortable that it was very hard for me to get up and get going.. I could have stayed in that bed all day. Best sleep I had in a long time.
Don's waste your time or money. My husband and I stopped after a long drive for a little rest. The hallway smelled of old smoke and cat pee and hadn't seen a vacuum for a long time. The room was old and dated with stains on the sofa. There was no toilet paper in the bathroom and the towels and wash cloths were filthy. I woke up after 2 hours to feel something crawling on me.....BEDBUGS...gross. We immediately gathered our belongings and checked out. I told the lady at the front desk and her response was "Oh my" we will have to look in to that. I have filed a complaint, hopefully the owner will acknowledge my concerns but I highly doubt it. Horrible place!
Very very slow check in process. My first key wouldn't allow me in my room. I thought it would be rekeyed, but was told, "oh the battery is dead, move to another room". The Rooms were filthy. The window was unlocked-ground level, so I did not feel safe. The bedding had not been changed from the previous customer. I could not use the shower as I felt I would be dirtier after. At check out, I shared all of this with the clerk...and he offered me $5 off? Absurd. Keep driving to the next city!
The room was fine for what I needed, which was to sleep after a long night at work and a couple of hours on the road. the staff was friendly when I arrived as it was 4;30 AM and I probably woke him.
We can recommend this property if you are looking for an economical stop for the night. We have stayed in several Super 8 properties over the past few years and found this one to be a good choice. Our intention was to stop at a competing property on past Davenport, IA on our way home from South Dakota. This was a pleasant property and the breakfast was more than adequate for us.
I reserved a room here for a night simply because it would be about 8 hours driving time on our trip west. The woman at the desk was nice but first said she did not have a reservation for us but then did find it. When we got to the assigned room, the door was open, the tv on and someone lying on the bed. We went back to the lobby and she did not know who would be in that room but assigned us another. The security lock on the door was broken. The wash clothes and towels looked like they had never seen bleach and the material was very thin. Same for the bed sheets and one top sheet was torn. The beds were far from new but comfortable enough for one night - don't think my back would have taken more.
We pulled in at about 11PM exhausted from our trip, only to have to wait approximately 20-30 minutes to check in, as so many others were coming in to the office to complain about room problems. (One man had actually been sent to a room that was already occupied). When we finally got checked in and sent to our room, the key didn't work. My husband went up to the front desk to have this resolved; when he came back we got into our room, which was absolutely filthy...not even made up. Filthy sheets crumpled on the bed, towels lying all over the floor, and that was just what we could see from the door. We never crossed the threshold; we went to the front desk and asked for a refund, the woman said we would have to talk to the manager the next day and gave us a card. We actually ended up staying at a place across the street; not great, but clean. The next day, we were assured that the refund would show up on our card, which of course it never did. Do not book this place, it was a nightmare.
We were desperate for a hotel along the way to Omaha. We got a last minute reservation here and in retrospect we should have just slept in the car. I'm do not have super high standards, but this hotel is horrible. The lower level smells so bad I cannot even breathe in the hall. The room itself doesn't smell too bad, but the hall smell slowly seeps in. The carpet is so dirty I don't want to touch it with my bare feet. Behind the hotel are piles of garbage. Only stay here in an emergency and then make sure you get a second floor room - that's not nearly as stinky. Can't wait to leave here!!! This cements my view that Super 8 is to be avoided like a plague!
I called prior to us going down to Adair, the man told us it would be $65.00 per night plus tax, I said okI would like 2 rooms for 2 nights. I gave him my Credit card Number and every thing else he would need. When my son got there he said he needed a credit card, my son said ok, but do not charge anything on it, We got there about 1/2 houR later and he asked for my credit card, I gave it to hime and he charged it. My son called me yesterday, August 16th, 2017 and said the guy charged his credit card $190.00 which made him overdrawn. I called the motel and his daughter answered and I told her I needed to talk to her dad, she said he would be back after six . I said ok and I tried up until 10:00 pm last night and got no answer
