We asked for a room as far from the elevator as possible when I booked, I understand it’s not always possible, but we were literally the closest room possible to the elevator (we didn’t check in late or anything - about 6pm). There was no breakfast - like no food out, all that was left was cereal and a couple bagels (45 minutes left of breakfast, too). There were probably 5 people at the time I was there who also came down for breakfast with no luck. I asked for an extra blanket and was told they didn’t have any… I’ve never not been able to get a blanket at a hotel before.

We come to Braves games once a month and usually stay at another property. Our first time at Tru was a bust. 1 towel in the room and no tv remote when we checked in. Went and asked for towels, told they would have some after the game. Realized there was no remote, family member went back down and asked for remote and towels. Given a towel and remote… A/C was broken. Never got below 78. Turned down to 65 before game, came back and thermostat was still at 78. Went to bed as it was late. Next morning around 8 am, asked for A/C repair or move to a new room. Didn’t get a new room until after 1 pm. When checking out I asked for the first night to be comped. Was told it would be figured out by the manager that afternoon. Have not been refunded to date. Other observations: hotel feels like a college dorm. Both rooms we had were marginally clean. Both rooms had a distinct musty smell. Floors were hardly clean and mold on ceilings in bathrooms.

The ol' bait and switch

We booked and paid for a room earlier in the day around 1:00 pm before we set out on our trip to Atlanta, called at around 6:00 pm to let them know we would be arriving around 10 pm. When we arrived, the room had already been given to an honors member and we were given a walk letter for a free stay at what appeared to be the motel across the street, the hilton spark. The "motel across the street" was in no way comparable to the room we booked and upon requesting a refund Carlos, as kind as he was,was not forthcoming about the "accommodation" we had been given. He then called the Hilton double tree down the street and asked if they had a room avaliable, allowing us to believe it would be covered by our prior purchase. All would have been well if we didnt have to pay 200% of the amount that the room we booked and paid for at the Hilton tru was. I understand sometimes things get over booked, mistakes happen and I am not unreasonable. I would hope that in the future if a guests room was given to someone else they would not send them to the spark and present it as a favor. I dont mean to talk down on the hilton spark, the staff was friendly but it was not at all what we were expecting. I would have appreciated a phone call or email to give us a heads up so we could have made other accommodations of our own accord. Carlos was kind, and helpful but he neglegently misrepresented the facts. The Hilton double tree is nice, but paying double for the room we needed was not in our budget.

I like that the property was close to places to secure foods such as Sprouts. I Did NOT like the fees added when I checked in: $50.00 for incidentals. Parking pass to self Park infront of the building on an asphalt lot. I was told by the registration attendant no further fees or parking pass was needed. When I checked out the attendant informed me I was charged $10.00 for parking. I paid per Expedia which included fees & taxes. If the hotel charges for extras that should have been communicated as I was making the reservation and at check in. There were children running and yelling in the hallways at 9 pm. The next morning the hotel was out of stock of many breakfast items at 7:00am such as milk and pancake mix. The limited Breakfast items which were available were not hot. I will not return to this hotel.
