It's more like a zoo with cats running around holes in the wall so I know they have mice I'll never stay here again
I felt safe, the rooms were comfy and clean, and the cat would hang out with me! Loved it!
This is an old run down hotel in desperate need of maintenance. The room we stayed in had huge cracks in the ceiling and walls. The furniture was broken and torn. The bathroom had mold growing everywhere. Paint was peeling off the walls. The door jamb was split and the dead bolt did not engage properly. Curtains and carpet we're old and dirty.
Hotel is great for travelers that aren't looking for any frills. Free parking, quiet area, walking distance from little five points and marta, and nice employees. The rooms are nothing exceptional but I was very comfortable and it is in a very safe area. Would stay here again in a heartbeat! (Don't plan on eating the breakfast, just go down the road or next door to one of the great options they have in the area)
Great experience!! Walking distance to lots of neat restaurants!! Close to downtown. Very quiet. Very "SoHo" type of hotel!! Will gladly stay there again :-)
I wasn't expecting much, i was looking for an inexpensive hotel to spend one day. But i like this hotel. It is small and old, but very maintained and unique.
We had a great stay. The only downside was lack of water pressure and temperature consistency. Small inconvenience for a reasonably priced hotel in a great location.
I would stay there again. My son wants to give it 5 stars. I know my wife would not like to stay there. It's a conundrum. Perfectly located. Really perfect location. Great restuarants a few steps away. Parking is good. I was comfortable. Local artists displayed in halls. Very clean. But... Shabby. That's the friendliest word for it. Know how far off the typical corporate chain hotel you're willing to go. This hotel that I would go to again is far from that (but just as clean).
We went during Dragon*Con for the event. The staff was friendly, wifi worked amazingly, parking lot was always full but we never moved our car. Overal the experience was nice and our room was clean. They served breakfast and it was fairly good.
I use this hotel often when I need to be in the Highlands area first thing in the morning and do not want to fight traffic, its nothing modern and fancy but does the job well for the price, always friendly staff, comfortable room.
Place was falling apart. Our toilet would only flush every 20 minutes, the shower took about the same about of time to get warm, and the bed was hard as a rock. The neighborhood was also pretty loud late at night and the staff was unhelpful. WORST PART was the "continental breakfast." There was cereal, stale bagels, and coffee. No eggs, no butter, no water. Safe to say, I will not be coming back.
This was a really cute hotel. The rooms were small but the location was great for our needs during our stay. Everything was clean and well kept; we will definitely stay again!
My fiance and I met at the Highland for SantaCon in ATL. The hotel was very close to our meet up spot. The outside of the hotel looked super nice. The staff was amazing! We were upgraded and put on the floor we preferred. The room was clean and convenient to get to. The hotel was obviously an older place with exposed pipes in the room and older hotel type furniture. However, we found it quaint and with character. The art work in the hotel gave it personality and I loved being so close to everything! We've stayed in other hotels in Atlanta but none with such a historic feel to it. The price was right, the staff was great, and our event was super special. We are planning another trip to L5P after the new year and the Highland Inn will be our first choice!
I stayed at this hotel to be close to all the hot spots In Virginia highlands. Everything was easily accessible. The staff was great and it the hotel was very clean. It was quite and relaxing. Very charming.
I have stayed here before. Love the place. Mattress a little soft, but still, I'll be back.
This hotel is very vintage which is ok The only problem is maybe they need to stain the bathtubs because they look a bit cruddy and the window Ac/ heating unit is very loud when your trying to sleep
The hotel is located in a nice neighborhood. Charming old hotel, but is well maintained and clean. Free parking is a big plus. Everything seems fine, our TV was not working on our check-in, we were upgraded to a large king room after 2 transfers (2 rooms with TV not working). One only thing we didn't like about this hotel is the lack of elevator. We have heavy luggages and my husband has to bring them up to 3rd floor then down again on check out. But will definitely recommend this hotel.
The staff at this hotel is young and very friendly and helpful. The hotel is a bit aged, with exposed pipes, but the paint is all fresh, the carpet and bedding clean, and plumbing functional. The hot water is a bit erratic, but it works. The television is large, if that's important to you. The bed is comfy. The breakfast adequate. There's a good coffee shop right up the street, and an excellent BBQ joint next door, or a vegan restaurant if that's more your style. Walking distance to Little 5 Points, and the Jimmy Carter Center, as well as good access to MARTA stops.
The hotel would have met expectations but for lack of telephone service in its Room 342 and generally poor internet or WIFI service in the hotel.
We booked The Highland Inn for four nights, so we could attend the PGA Fed-Ex Cup golf tournament, but due to rainy weather, we only went to golf at East Lake two days. We didn't mind a bit, however, because our hotel was in such a great neighborhood. We left the car parked (free!) at the hotel and walked to nearby attractions, shops, and restaurants, such as The Carter Center, Ponce City Market, Java Jive, Manuel's, and Paris on Ponce. Cafe 640 and Sweet Auburn BBQ flank the hotel, and the food is delicious at both. The Highland Hotel is described in some reviews as quirky, and it is, but in an European way. The vintage furnishings, old movie posters, live potted plants, marble-top tables, and brass key tags reminded me of my first trip to Paris in the late 60's. If you require a heated pool, full gym, slick check-in counters, and plastic key cards, don't book here, but if you're looking for cozy nostalgia, friendly desk managers, and easy access to one of Atlanta's most happening areas, book NOW!
