Very basic little bit old dated hotel, it is okay for short stay, breakfast is very simple, but free. Location is very good, 5min drive to downtown, shopping and dining walkable distance. Recommended gor short stay, because price is very cheap.

Great place clean and quite! Access to our particular room was tricky but overall great value

Horrible hotel! Very disappointed! We were not sure if we were going to make it to morning because hotel is not safe. No locks, ice cold rooms that you have no control of the AC, very expensive for the condition of the hotel. Also, there were lots of bugs, bugs EVERYWHERE in the room! Will NOT go back!

Older dated property beds were clean but old burn marks in spread and torn curtains were visible in some units. In spite of questionable maintenance parking lot was full . On two occasions found people sleeping in cars in the parking lot and large motorcycle group crowd in parking lot Friday and Saturday nights.. very meager “continental breakfast” and only 2 tables in the badly maintained office area. Large property on a hillside. Not an easy trek for some folks to the breakfast area and no place to park around the area.

This was the absolute worst hotel stay ever. They had a bunch of rooms in the back of the building that were flooded, they rented them out with sopping wet carpets and damp, dirty bedding. We were offered two other rooms which were in even worse condition so we had to end up driving back home in the middle of the night and cutting our vacation short. The sad part is all three ladies at the front desk were well aware that the rooms were in this condition and all tried to blame one another for renting them out.

For $55 you can’t beat this place. It’s not a five star hotel obviously, but the mountain cabin feel was perfect. The room was clean and the staff were very pleasant. I was a little uncertain at first sight, but I would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone who doesn’t need anything fancy.

The room was not good.. had issues with water pressure in sink and furniture was tearing off

The Hillbilly Hilton. Hokie and not the worst, but 2 stars at its best..

Laid back 50's vibe, friendly staff and good value...

Fun place to stay and the staff was great!!!! For the money I don't think you can get a better value in Asheville.

The hotel staff was very nice however the room was awful. Every corner of the room had cobwebs and bugs in it. Not to mention in the restroom I am fairly confident there were rat droppings everywhere. And when you looked under the sink, you could see a fairly large separation between the wall and carpet so I’m sure that’s where every creature makes the entrance. There should be a much bigger focus of thorough cleaning of the rooms and also trying to ensure no critters make their way inside.

The hotel is an older one and does show age, but it has some interesting stories behind it. The steep drive from the street to the motel office and then the next hill to the second building were a surprise.

Thank you for the feedback! Some of the rooms can be a chore to get to but that comes with the age of the establishment! Glad you came and stayed with us.

Thank you for your review. We always appreciate honest feedback. The hotel is many decades old and some features have incurred wear and tear over the years.
