It might not be 5⭐️ But this place was the most chilled out time I have had on a Holliday the room was clean food was up to scratch entertainment was spot on I would definitely come back here it was a stress free Holliday and that wouldn't of happened if it wasn't for the staff thanks for making this Holliday special for me and my daughter 👍
More often than not a bad review is more the fault of the reviewer not the hotel/venue/attraction, don't just use Tripadvisor to leave reviews use it for researching the area and places your planning to visit, complaining that a hotel is full of Russians or Germans is your fault, you can see the by the reviews what sort of clientele use it before you book, not that we find the nationality of guests a problem anyway, We arrived at the resort to be welcomed by the excellent reception staff who booked us into our room very quickly, before we left the UK I had tried to phone the resort on many occasions but finally got through to ask for a room upgrade, I was told that I should wait until I arrived at reception but a note had been made of my request, I was very dubious about this and did not have a lot of faith in what I was told preferring to settle such things before I travelled, I was wrong, on arrival the manager said that the upgrade had been made for me should I still require it and a member of staff quickly drove us the 100 metres to our villa in one of the many multi seat golf cart style buggies that are dotted all around what is a huge village complex. In light of recent terrorist activities the lastest incident being just a few miles away the day before we left the UK it was good to see that entry to the complex is controlled by security guards, fences and manned checkpoints, we felt secure throughout our stay at the village. The villa itself (A Jasmin Suite) is huge and was immaculately clean, sure you can find fault with a place wherever you stay from the best hotels to the basic ones, I judge my stays on the Staff, Cleanliness and the price I pay, value for money being an important factor in whatever you do, it can be a very cheap item but if it is not value for money then really it is expensive and if you can afford the highest prices good on you, but I am sure you still want value for money for what you pay for, so based on that I consider the River Garden Holiday Village to be excellent. The General Manager was constantly on the prowl around the hotel, especially at meal times when you would see him talking to guests and sampling the food, he even took part in the Karaoke with the guests and entertainers and took time to speak to us near the pool to ensure we were enjoying our stay. I have counted 8 swimming pools, the longest pool I have ever seen being right outside my veranda door with another equally large one right next to it. There is a huge pool with smaller childrens pool next to the main dining area and social complex and another next to those for the children using the waterslide. Another lovely pool is located next to the river where there is a bar eating area and the coutresy river taxi to the beach. Wifi is free and in our villa wifi reception is very good, a good sized TV but dissapointed that there are no English channels, there are loads of German Channels some Russian channels and of course lots of Turkish channels, the only English speaking channel is CNN which drolls out nothing but US Election stuff. True most of the guests here seem to be either German or Russian but it is the school holidays in Russia and possibly in Germany too, I would imagine that at the end of July early August it is mostly British tourists due to the British school holiday cycle, travelling around the area as we have all the areas seem to have a high proportion of Russian and German tourists with a smuttering of other Nations including the British, I do know that more than 2.5 million Brits visit Turkey each year so they are around somewhere, apart from the TV we love meeting people from other Countries and Cultures. The food at the resort is good, a very wide variety and always something for the British palate, served buffet style with labelling in English so you know what to choose and there is always ample to go round no matter how many times you go round, the restaurant staff are pleasant and if you require any help (for me milk for my tea) they are happy to go off and get it for you. We took the courtesy boat to the beach nearby a few times, a pleasant trip down the river passing a few of the other nearby hotels and onto a nice sandy beach that has many sunbeds available, a bar serving soft drinks, beer and snacks which are all free as part of your "all inclusive" stay at the River Garden, you can also hire jet skis here which we did and had some fantastic fun on them, they also have Paragliding, banana boat and other watersports available for a reasonable charge. The courtesy boat runs often backwards and forwards between the beach and the hotel with set times available from reception and we highly recommend some trips to the beach, despite being late October there was not a cloud in the sky and sunbathing on the beach or swimming in the surprisingly warm water was great fun, the sea water temperature seemed to be even higher than the hotel swimming pools. Every evening there is an entertainment show next to the main pool by the restaurant and the "Animation Staff" work hard to provide some good laughs and shows with lot's of audience participation for those that want to dance and join in, each night they provide a different show. We hired a car for out 10 day stay and got out and about to the local area and even into Antalya itself, while you don't need to leave the resort at all during your stay we do recommend having a look around the beautiful area, we also booked some boat tours while here 2 from Kemer (about an hour away by courtesy bus) and one from Antalaya and another from Manavagat an hour from the hotel, we also got to visit the main city of Antalya, Lara Beach and Kalderiye. Overall we had a brilliant time for an incredible price and plan to return next year. NOTE: The increased security everywhere in Turkey is a good thing but at the airport arrive at least an EXTRA hour earlier than you would normally plan to arrive, we arrived at 6pm for a 10pm flight and it was just enough time, you cannot enter the airport without being checked through security, then there are the standard baggage check in queues, we then had to queue for a further 20 minutes or more to be allowed up the escalator to passport control as they were only allowing batches of people up at a time, Passport control was not good, most of the booths were unoccupied by any staff and for no apparent reason even the ones working stopped allowing people through a lot of the time, arguments were breaking out as people queued for long periods only to find that the station they were waiting for suddenly became unmanned and they had to move to another queue, children were crying and at one point the Border Control officers had to pass out bottles of water to ease the suffering in the crowded, humid hot enclaves of the airport, we queued for about an hour before getting through customs, Our bags were checked no less than 4 times which is a good thing for security but they really need to sort out better passport control.
I am currently here on holiday sadly leaving tomorrow. This place as many have said may not be 5* standard as you would expect but for the price paid we have had a fab time, myself and my partner and his 12 year old son have been here for a week. We arrived late 11pm and checked in, a young lad in a golf buggy put all our bags in the back and drove us around the site showing us the pool, bars and restaurant also where we could get drinks food until midnight. Then took us back to the apartment where he carried out bags up to the room for us and showed us how things worked and what times things happened etc. We has a great apartment 1st floor large 2 bedrooms large living room and 2 balconies. One which over looked a quiet pool there are 3 of these surrounded by apartments. The rooms are clean and spacious the only down side to the room is how uncomfortable the beds are, they are solid and no good for your back but apart from that the apartments were great they even have a washing machine, great for refreshing beach towels etc, There is a main entertainment pool which also has the restaurant and a pool bar and snacks on and off through the day! There is also a relax pool with a snack bar, bar and toilet facilities near to the river. The river has a boat that every hour or so takes you to a private beach also with a bar and snack bar all included in your all inclusive.
managers of hotel are wild without international manner and they cant speak English . the hotel in 3 star and all. the room were dirty. the services are poor.the woman there called Ayeshe was rude and yelled to people.
this is quite long so please bear with me..... A holiday is what you make of it, and this was one of the best. Lets get my negatives out of the way first. I knocked it down half a star because of it's location, it is not in a nice central location, but there is a bus to the nearest town and it was quite cheap 2.5 TL. I also knocked it down half a star because of the room. I have arthritis and the beds are about 6 inches off the floor, it was also a very high sided bath/shower which was not great for me either. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable as well. Having said that the room itself was lovely and spacious and big windows meant it was light and bright. The food was ok. I was on medication which made me a little nauseous so some days I only ate bread and rice. This is not a reflection on the food here as on days when I didn't feel so bad, I found the food pretty good. Yes, it was mostly chicken and turkey, but is is a Muslim country so I knew food was going to be a bit limited to Halal. However, there were "meatballs" a bit like shaped donner meat, and occasionally there was Veal. There was tonnes of salad stuff, cold meats, cheese and pasta, so there was plenty of options. Most of the desserts seemed to be soaked in syrup, but not a problem if you had a sweet tooth. The staff were brilliant. The general manager was around almost everyday. I saw him talking to guests and staff and playing with some of the kids. He was very approachable should there have been a problem. The bar and restaurant staff were lovely as well if you said please and thank you. The pool bar staff were especially good as when they saw my husband walking to the bar they were already pouring our drinks. However, the biggest praise goes to the entertainment staff. Sam, Mario, Bisu and Ibo were for us the main reason this holiday was as good as it was. They were outstanding. After one interaction, they remembered our names and would come and sit with us when they were between games / jobs. Sam did the mini disco for the kids in the evening and all of the kids loved her and would run over to her whenever they saw her. Ibo did some of the sports in the day time and stood around like a bouncer making sure all was good in the evening. He came and sat with us a few times during the day and played cards and talked about his family.. Mario did a few games during the day and some dancing in the evening. The entertainment manager Maya, was very pleasant when we spoke to her, but she didn't seem to get involved as much as the others during the day. Bisu was amazing, his games were fun, he would shout your name and wave across the pool area if he saw you. He would sit and have a cigarette with you during the day and would share his popcorn with everyone in the evening. In general the grounds were well maintained, yes it could do with a tidy up a bit ( a couple of bushes over grown), but as the whole complex shut down on 31st October, i suspect that all non essential stuff was being saved until then. There were small pools between pretty much all apartment blocks, but we didn't spend much time near ours so cannot comment on them. We did go to the relax pool once and that seemed nice and clean, but most of our time was spent in the main pool area. It was always clean and tidy. The bar staff were very quick to collect cups and glasses that were finished with. They emptied the ashtrays every couple of hours, and there was an older gent whose job seemed to be to constantly look for stuff to sweep up. Apart from the few things I mentioned at the top, the rooms were lovely. Yes they were a bit unloved, there were a few marks on our carpet and the bathroom wasn't in the best condition, but the apartment in general was good. When we walked round the complex there were a few apartment blocks that had builders in, so I would think that they are upgrading slowly while it is open and any works being done would speed up when closed. Reception was lovely and the staff there were very nice as well. I did try to change our room as my knees were causing me some trouble and I wasn't sure I could manage the stairs several times a day. However, as we had booked a promo room, when I asked about changing, the lady on reception said there were no ground floor promo rooms available, but I could keep trying everyday after breakfast. We weren't sure how long we would have to wait to get a ground floor room and we wanted to unpack, so decided that we would just limit the amount of times I would have to walk up and down the stairs and take everything with us for the day when we went down for breakfast. If you have difficulty with stairs, I would suggest you request a ground floor room in advance. All in all, this was a great 10 day holiday, and i would not hesitate to go back, if the same entertainment staff were there, as for us, they were the best part of the complex.
Stayed here 23rd - 30th September. Our room perfect 1st floor as requested. It looked out on to a road but worth it with a view of the golf courses just after it C39-5 and a side view of 1 of the many pools. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food was ok nothing great we didn't go hungry, lunch everyday was burger and chips because we stayed by the relax pool which was ok for us.Main pool to busy so didn't use it. The relax pool was never more than 25 guests also bar and snack bar.Entertainment was more for the German guests ( think no more than 18 English when we started our holiday maybe 30 by the end of it ). The beach nothing special but the boat to get there was nice. The Titanic down the road looks good but at 4 times the price we paid put it out of our budget. There was NO A la carte ( fish ) the restaurant was here but looks like never been used . Would we go back YES
River garden is a great hotel, beatifull houses. Every appartment has a pool near the appartment, also a relax pool and a pool near the restaurant. Good towelservice and great staff! Everyone is friendly! The food is great, a lot of choice and everything taste fresh! The animationteam is great! They are doing a lot of activity's and they help you with erveything you need! We would definitly come back here!
Just stayed here for a week 3-10 September 2016. Was pleasantly surprised by our room which had a sitting room area, terrace and pool right outside. Unless you are super picky there was an abundance of food to choose from and the drinks were fine, lovely cocktails. Enjoyed the quiet pool by the river own bar, plus lunch. All in all for what we paid it was good value and would go again. Special mention of Sam in the animation team who was so lovely and she took the time to come and speak with us everyday
I'm not one to complain normally but this is far from 5 star. On arrival the man was nice and friendly. He apologised that he couldn't help us to our room. As it was only him on. Which was not a problem. I expected the room to to be a actual apartment but it's a studio. It is spacious has a couch and flat screen TV. The pato has a table n 2 chairs as well as 2 sun loungers. With only one mat tho. I looked around and they are all the same. The room was clean on arrival. There is one wardrobe which has 2 drawer 2 shelfs and about 8 coat hangers. 2 bed side units with a drawer each. The bathroom has a shower which is very spacious. Our shower went from roasting to freezing with no notice at all. I went to reception who were at the room within 5 mins to replace the head. The problem is still there. To be honest I'm past caring so never bothered going bk. The bed is awful. Sleeping on the floor would be better and i did sleep on the couch for part of the second night it was that bad. I went to the reception after I saw reviews saying they put mattress covers on it. Which they did. I went the next day to get them to add more which has helped a bit. I honestly can't wait to leave that bed for good. The house keeping for the room is poor as I said it was clean on arrival but they only do the bed and towels and empty the bin. Nothing else at all. Its been 6 days. The complex is clean over all but a few things let it down in this department. The hall ways in the apartments being one. I've been here 6 days and still not seen it be cleaned. No evidence of it having been done any time recently either. The beach is horrible. Really not looked after. Which is a shame as it wouldnt take not much work to fix it. We arrived about 12 at the beach and I told them there was no toilet roll 3 times before it was replaced at around half 2. The place is covered in fag ends which is the tourists fault as they should bin them but there is very few bins around. The food at the beech is burgers that's it. Nothing else. Only benefit is its actually served hot. Food. Now the variation of salads and desert is great very wide selection. Nobody can complain about that. The mains is a reasonable selection. The heat is the problem. The main restaurant is the only one that actually plugs in the hot holds but little good that does when they leave it sitting cooked at the side of it for ages. The food is actually cold as they put it in the hot hold. I went to the snack bar at the relax pool and asked for fresh chips as they were ice cold n the woman did make me them so I won't complain there. The staff are good. Yeah there is communication issues which gets annoying at times but that not there fault that I only speak English. The hotel shop is over priced. They make the prices as they go along. I bought a lilo that cost 75 lira and it was burst at the seal I went bk the same day for the guy to mutter something about English to someone else then pass me a patch to cover the hole. This was faulty at the seal so obviously wouldn't work and didn't. I've been blowing this up constantly for the past week and I still have a week left. There is loads of pools all very clean and reasonable sized. The only issue is every night they move u from the main pool at 5 with 35+ heat I think that's shocking especially when the sign says it closes at 6. It's a real shame as over all this hotel could be really good if the management sorted the food issues n worked on cleaning the beach up. N made the maids actually clean.
What a ruined holiday this was I plead with any British people do not go to this hotel travel republic stated 5 star but was lucky to push a 3 star to be honest , the rooms and pool were nice we did have a broken bed and cockroaches in room though, the food was cold every day and night we struggled to complain because of the lack of English they spoke at the hotel . My husband went to complain when one of the staff hit him them swung a golf club at him , which resulted in going to the police station where the member of staff accused my husband of breaking his fingers which by the way he broke as a result of hitting my husband.whist our Turkish rep witness all this My husband spent from 8.30 at evening until lunch time the day after at the police station was locked in a cell and we didn't receive an English translator until 10.30 am the day he was released, the video footage from hotel conviniently wouldn't load it totally ruined our holiday . We were then evicted from the hotel and had to find another one
