Rented the canal view with private bath. 5-stars for the location, view, and charm. Great location and view of the canal out of the large windows in the den area. Very roomy apt with a huge bathroom. Many cafes and shops within 5 min walk. It has the look and feel of a real dutch apt. 3-stars for the amenities: room could use a mini fridge, cleaning only occurs on every 3rd day, and although bath towels were plentiful, they were dingy and smelled mildewed after 1 use.

The location is wonderful. It is in a historic house and is situated on one of the oldest canals. It is conveniently close to the train station, restaurants, and historical sites and neighborhoods. The hop on hop off boat is right across the canal. The host was accommodating and provided us with information as we needed it. We had a first floor suite with a view of the canal. It contained all the essentials needed for an Airbnb. It does not claim to be a hotel which was why we chose it. It allowed us to experience a living neighborhood. We would both return here.

Never been so dissapointed with a ‘hotel’ before! I can’t even call it a hotel, it was more apartments. The host was very unhelpful. They had no reception so I couldn’t get help when I needed. The website did NOT state it was a shared bathroom! I paid a lot of money for the two nights, way more than it was worth. The stairs were so steep, there was no elevator and super narrow to the point it was dangerous. He took a €200 REFUNDABLE deposit which I have never got back. I paid around 400 for the two nights I was meant to be staying there but felt that uncomfortable I paid another £500 to change hotel; I must have been in this place for around 1.5 hr before leaving. I tried to find the host/owner and of course he was no where to be found. I also emailed and called numerous times to let him know we were not staying and to get the deposit refunded but no response from him! DO NOT STAY HERE! This was my 3rd trip to Amsterdam and it was horrendous! Wasted so much money and will not refund me, let alone respond. Would rate it 0 stars if I could!

Convenient location and very nice suite. We were met at the prearranged time and were helped with bringing our luggage up the three flights of stairs. Stairs were very narrow but manageable. The suite was clean and we were given good advice on local areas of interest. Only stayed for the weekend but wished we would have stayed longer. The Singel canal area is beautiful. Quiet and close to the flower market and Rembrandt square.

We arrived on Friday 12 Oct and warmly welcomed. This beautiful apartment building in a great location to explore amsterdam. We stayed on the 2nd floor and the room had the extra bonus of its own roof terrace. We had a room only deal and travelled 20 meters to have breakfast in a little cafe beside the canal.

No reception, no waiting lounge, no toilet. We arrived 15 minutes early. A rude man told us to leave and wait for the manager. I was not feeling well which i told him he said; then you shouldnt travel! Aweful experience. The towels were tiny and smelled like sweaty shoes. The stairs are scary and almost impossible to walk with a suitcase. The floor is old wood and squeeqs with ever step. Products from prior customers are left for usage which i guess is good for the Environment. The bed is comfortable and location is good. With the price we paid it is my worst hotelexperience ever. Oh i took a little paperbox i thought was garbage in which the sugar and milkpowder was put. I put some jewellwry in it. 4 hours after check out they write about this small paperbox worth maximum 0.5 Euros. They charged 10 euro.

Terrible location. terrible smell. no tv .shared bathroom that didn’t lock just no value for the price of it the website didn’t say anything about sharing a bathroom and the stairs are too steep then charged an extra 200 euro after I checked out and got home for no reason and said I can’t get it back

Suites aan de Singel is a short walk (15-20min) from the central station. As this is a bnb style hotel we arranged a suitable time with the host to get our key. When we arrived, the host was there to greet us and show us to our room. He was very friendly and super helpful and even offered a laundry service for a great rate. The room was perfect, great lighting, lots of space and storage, lots of places to charge our phones/cameras and very clean. We chose to pay the extra for a room with its own bathroom and view of the cannel, which was worth every euro, it was wonderful waking up and looking out over the water each day. This place is located in a great neighbourhood and is a short walk to transit, many places to eat or for entertainment, there was very little street noise, even with our window open. With out a doubt we plan to stay here aging for our next visit to Amsterdam.

Our room was absolutely beautiful and was huge! The suite included a lovely sitting area overlooking the Singel Canal, a humongous King-sized bed, plenty of closet space, an incredible travertine stand-alone bath tub for two (I have no idea how they even got it up onto the 3rd floor!) and a separate (but private) bathroom, accessible by going across a common-area stairwell landing. The host was on time for our arrival, helped with advice about what to see in the city and how best to travel, get tickets, etc. Although we never stayed for breakfast, it smelled delicious!

Ideally situated, in a quiet and central part of Amsterdam, a short walk from shops and restaurants. Ever wondered what it would be like to live in one of those old, typical houses by the canal? You can get that experience, in a spacious, well decorated room. This is not a hotel, but a guest house, and this comes with a few minor quirks (the owner has to be notified in advance of your exact arrival time, and the check-in/check-out window is narrower than in a hotel). Not a big deal, totally worth it!
