Perfect location in Amsterdam if you want “city centre” but away from the red light district - my boyfriend and I wanted to avoid staying near this area for obvious reasons and were v happy with the location of this hotel. Breakfast is fine, staff are lovely. Good transport links - the tram to the train station is nearby. No complaints and would stay here again.
The hotel was clean and the beds were extremely comfortable only thing was, 4 people sharing a room proved to be a little tight as the rooms are quite small. The shower was very small and was shared with the toilet therefore it was quite squashed however if you just need a place to crash I don't have any complaints. Staff here were very friendly and helpful, check in was very easy. Location is about 20 minute walk (pretty much in a straight line over all the bridges) to the main square which isn't too bad as it allows you to see different things as you walk.
Nice but small rooms. The rooms are clean and neat. Be sure to get a room above ground and in the front of the hotel. Very centrally located in Jordaan. Close to center, shops and restaurants/cafes. A bit boring breakfast. The bacon was cooked and not fried. Please teach the cook how to fry bacon. The staff at the reception were very frendly. I would definitely stay here again.
Just arrived home from one night in this hotel . The hotel is only 15mins from Dam square . Straight forward east walk over the canals . The hotel is situated in a clean quite area of Amsterdam but not to far from the madness . The room was lovely and modern just a few things that could make it perfect . A bit of extra dusting , there was a fair amount of cobwebs on the ceiling and bedroom wall , one of our towels had someone else’s hair wrapped in the towel ( as seen in pic ) so just some attention to detail and this would be the perfect gem of a hotel . Thanks for our stay :)
Very easy to get to from the airport via transit. Rooms are updated and clean. Very close to major attractions (within walking distance). Staff were friendly, they always said hello when you went by the front desk. They offer discount coupons for some main attractions such as the Heineken Experience. Main downside is that for the price I would have expected a continental breakfast to be included but breakfast was an additional 10 Euro per day per person.
Comfy bed and pillows. Noisy rooms, due to wafer thin walls and fire doors banging during the night. No hot water and when complained very unsympathetic. Manager never available and hides from guests!
Overall loved it x Well positioned location Close by to Ann Franks house Short walk to city centre Rooms (3 of them one in basement, one on ground floor and one on second floor) alllovely and clean Staff accomodating. A little confusion with the breakfast as 5 booked to one room and paid for in advance 10 euro each .not complementary as on their website .Receipt given to identify this .I thought as i booked hotel that it would be simple to book under my room number as Main guest rather than the 3rooms.....sorted very quickly when explained .
I was a little wary from previous postings as to what to expect. We had a basement room, but it was clean and comfortable, quiet, and the 1st rule of a accommodation was met: a good night's sleep. The room doors did not slam shut. Breakfast is available but we chose to eat out, plenty of places to choose from all within walking distance. Staff were accommodating. Location is perfect. Bus 397 from the airport stops at the top of the road - 6.50 euros, compared to taxi at 40 Euros.
A standard hotel with no wow factor. Breakfast not included but for an additional cost you get a basic breakfast which appeared unlimited. A good location to the city and on a busy street with basic amenities. Staff were fine and rooms were basic; a standard budget hotel. Cleanliness wasn't a problem. Our room was on the second floor and we had a nice big window to let in light but others from the group were in the basement with a very small window so it was quite dark and dingy at all hours of the day.
We had multiple problems over our 2 night stay. One, we were placed in the basement (level -1) of the hotel. Nonetheless, we only complained as the room was damp, including the bed mattress!! and nothing dryed. The floors and towels also remained wet. As the room was so hot and damp, we had to have the air-con all night, which was freezing. We requested a room change and were advised they were full and all they could do was change the setting of the air-con to suck out the dampness. This setting did not change anything and again we advised the staff, however each of the 3 staff we spoke to over the course of the booking did not seem to really care and just knew we would be gone in a few days (this is how it felt). After the terrible experience, we wrote 3 times to the hotel to ask for an explanation and some sort of compensation. In 2 weeks we have not received any reply. As such, they leave us no option but to write a public review. Overall, this is an expensive hotel in a nice location. But there should not even be rooms on level -1 and there should definitely not ever be damp rooms. I would recommend to simply book another one of the many other hotels in Jordaan Amsterdam that actually care about the clients.
