I have stayed at The Luxer hotel several times and it has always been pleasant. My last visit from jan 20th to 23rd jan 2026 was a different experience. The room was cold and damp. Situated downstairs alongside a much used alleywith businesses and homeless people. The noise was constant and all night! There was no handle on the toilet/shower door so unable to shut for fear of being locked in the toilet. Whe l reported such to reception, l was advised to take my telephone into the toilet with me!! Unexeptable. I was treated ( surprisingly) poorly. As a result of a cold damp bed and room upon arrival, l have ended up being admitted to hospital with pneumonia!. Im not sure l would want to return or that l could recommend this hotel. It has gone downhill!! Very dissappointed and if l could prove the pneumonia was as a direct cause of this experience, l would be suing!

Great staff, perfect location, delicious pastry breakfast and coffee in the lobby. Will stay again for sure. Really appreciate that the front door is always locked and they staff opens it for us. Laundry across the street is super convenient.

The room was smaller than it showed in the pictures. Uncomfortable, there were stains on the carpet, mold in the ceiling of the bathroom, smell, and noise from the street. It was a terrible experience for my family, and we ran away and booked another hotel. I filed a claim with Hotels.com, and for some reason, they couldn't fulfill it, and I didn't receive a refund, despite I didn't stay at the hotel and attached some photos with my claim. Truly a nightmare. Not recommend it at all.

We had a lovely stay at the Luxer, the staff are amazing and the location is perfectly situated to be able to walk to most places. It’s also a 5 minute walk from Amsterdam Central station! Great price too. When we were leaving they gave us a little gift bag full of goodies which was a really nice touch!

Location, location, location. Couldn't be better for exploring Amsterdam. Highly recommend room 401. Top floor, roomy and extremely quiet since it's the only room on that floor. Friendly and kind staff. Reasonable rate for Amsterdam. Can't recommend highly enough.
