Good decent size room with satisfactory facilities. Housekeeping cleaned our room every day and always topped up our tea/coffee sugar etc. Bathroom was ok and television had various languages to watch. Only room for improvement would be provide 4 pillows for a twin room, rather than 3.
Stayed here in December with my boyfriend for three nights and was pleasantly surprised at how nice this hotel is for the price! It's cheap because it's outside of the city centre but it's a two minute walk to the metro which takes you straight into the centre so it's definitely worth keeping clear of the centre to save some money! I think a day ticket for the metro was €7, and they had an option that worked out cheaper for 48hours etc so it's really no problem if you're going for a short break in dam. The hotel itself is an easy drive from the airport, we pre booked a taxi online but I think you can get the train or metro directly from the airport. It looks like an American motel from the outside but the room was really nice and spacious, and the staff were all really friendly. There's a heater in the bathroom but you can only turn it on for 15 minutes at a time using a dial which sits above the toilet. The hotel lobby has a range of maps and discount cards, which you can use during your stay which will save you money if you're planning on going out in the day. Overall it was a really good stay and I'd recommend the hotel to anyone purely because of how convenient it is and how much money you'll save!
I have been staying at this hotel on and off for nearly 20 years now and it is testament to Lisbeth and Eric who have been the managers here all that tine. It is always a pleasure to stay at the hotel and all the staff from the bottom to the top work as a team and nothing is ever a problem them for them. OK , you get what you pay for and the place and the place could do with a lick of paint in places but you cant fault the place for location and friendly staff
Okay, for the record: I'm a scouts girl so I'm okay with no hygiene. If you choose so. Seen as you pay €80 per night, I think you are entitled to a working toilet at least.. The beds were okay but.. The cushions were so small as if they were for children. There was only one plug so you can't load the batteries of your phone and camera simultanously. The window can only be opened if you are big (luckily my partner was there to help), there was a lot of noise outside but also in the other rooms and you could hear everything. There was no fridge. It was really hot in there etc.. (I can go on.) But the worst? The toilet didn't flush so you could go but you couldn't flush and then your room takes over that odour. And the sink didn't run through so we had to brush our teeth above the shower which was hard to do because the bathroom was so small. When checking out I told the lady at the desk about the toilet and the sink (the rest is not so bad but just something you have to live with for a couple of days). She said 'okay I'll pass that information' and we had to pay full price. Okay they are a budget hotel so they shouldn't care about customer satisfaction. But really they should because that's what modern marketing is all about. Well doesn't matter. I won't go there again, I hope you won't either and if you go there I hope you get a better experience. :)
I work for a coach company and stay at this hotel twice a week. I come here on my own after dropping passengers at Amsterdam. I find the rooms adequate and the staff to be very friendly and helpful. I've walked into reception at 8am and at 1130pm, and the staff have always welcomed me with a smile. The trip into the centre of town takes approximately 20 minutes by train and the station is literally across the road from the hotel. It's not a 5 star hotel but you get a comfortable bed, nice shower, tasty breakfast and lovely dinner. Recommended!,
Affordable clean rooms, good wifi, and no frills. It's very close to public transportation but is far away from the central area of Amsterdam. For example, 37 minutes by public transportation to get to the Rijksmuseum. Also, I think tour groups use this hotels because there were 3 coach buses parked in the lot when we stayed but luckily we didn't hear any commotions when we slept.
This is a bit long but really worth to mention… We stayed 2 times 4 night each time during Oct. The first time we got the rooms at the upper floor and it was really good, also the service was amazing, especially at the reception a guy named Luca, usually he’s there at the night shifts. He is the best guy that we got service from, always makes you feel welcome. We also asked for the laundry service, and we were told that its 10EU for up to 5 KG. We had a really nice time there, so we came back:) The second time we stayed was a different story. We got the rooms at the second floor. Unfortunately we had clogged sink… We went to the reception and met Liesbeth Dasbach. We told her that we really want to take a shower and wash our faces so we asked for another room. Without looking at the computer she told us with an angry attitude, that this is not a reason to switch a room and tomorrow we will have someone to fix it. Then she just went back at her office without saying anything and did’t come back. At the 2nd day we went to ask for the laundry service again, mesured the bag and it was 3.7 KG, went to the reception and Liesbeth Dasbach was there… But for our surprise the price now is 15 EU and not 10 EU like in our previous stay. We asked if there was a price change and she told us “no”…So we searched a bit and found the receipt from the last week of 10EU written on it. We showed it to her and she told us that she doesn’t care because now we have a lot of laundry (she didn’t even measured it) She was really angry at us and told us that 15EU is the price and there is nothing to do about it. We told her that we never had this before, no thanks and we went back to the elevator while she is shouting on us that it’s a lot of work to make it… From that point during our stay every time that we passed through the lobby while she was there we felt really uncomfortable… The rest of the stuff was amazing!!! The other lady that is working in the reception was very kind as well, she explained us about the transportation and also Luca:) And about Liesbeth Dasbach, We will not come back there as long as she is working there…
I've been there in October with a friend. The hotel is nice. You have 2 coffes to go for free in your room every day and it's just awesome. Staff is really kind ,God Wi-Fi the hotel is in front of a Metro station so perfect to visit amsterdam if you don't want to stay in the city center. The restaurant was simply perfect ! Hope to can come back !
The hotel is well kept, rooms are small, but clean and tidy and well soundproofed. The bathroom is surprisingly large and the fresh towels are changed daily. The hotel has a large free car park and is right next to the subway (metro line 53 - 20 mins to get to Centraal Station). Comfortable beds. Very good free WiFi. Friendly staff, fluent in English. Hairdryer to borrow (free) at the reception desk. Nice little garden to enjoy for a coffee, a drink or a snack. On the terrace that surrounds each floor you can find here and there wall-mounted ashtrays.
Having had problems with our original accommodation and having virtually no options left due to a huge convention in town we didn't know anything about this hotel on booking. However, it was so easy and quick to reach from the city centre by metro and its park-side location meant it was lovely and quiet. The man at the reception when we arrived on the Friday night was friendly, welcoming, fluent in several languages and incredibly helpful to us and to the other guests there. It was without doubt the best service I have ever received in a hotel. The person at the bar that evening was also friendly and the housekeeping staff were excellent. Thank you so much for a lovely weekend!
