We just visited this hotel and it was perfect for what we needed. It was cheep and only 20 minutes on the metro from central station. The room was very basic and small but it had a comfy bed, a good working shower and a TV so I couldn't have asked for more. The staff at reception were very helpful and really nice. Would definitely stay here again.
A quiet motel-style hotel opposite Gaasperplaz Metro station in South-East Amsterdam. Rooms are clean and quiet, and arranged in a motel style with external walkways and doors direct to the secure car park. Pricing during our stay was a competitive 65-70 Euros/night. On-site meals are available at breakfast lunch and dinner, reasonably priced. Being opposite the Metro station there are excellent public transport links to central Amsterdam with a direct Metro service every 10 minutes (20 minute journey time). Being at the end of the line, there is also no noise from passing trains. A nice park and lake adjacent to the hotel if you fancy a stroll. I would certainly consider using this hotel again if making another visit to Amsterdam.
Myself and my partner stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of November. Having never been to Amsterdam the hotel was easy to find and right next to the Metro station which was fantastic. On arrival the reception staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The room was very basic, with basic amenities but perfect as a base, the room was clean (apart from the floor, which was a little dirty but not a problem just wear socks to walk around in). The beds were comfy enough and as we were on the 3rd floor there was hardly any noise. The bathroom was clean and the shower was in perfect working order. One thing I will suggest is ask for plenty of tea & coffee, milk & sugar as this was not replaced daily & we had to constantly go to reception & ask for them to be replenished. It’s definitely worth buying a travel pass at the hotel if you have no car as these were definitely €22 (each) well spent. Having the metro station right next door is definitely an added bonus, the metro trains were frequent & took about 30 mins to get to Amsterdam central, just perfect for us. I can’t comment on the food as we never ate at the hotel. Overall my partner & I were very satisfied with our stay, thank you to all the staff at Hotel Campanile.
Did not have any expectations but was pretty disappointed from our stay. The good points: close to the motorway, free ample parking and a Metro station just across the road. The bed points: Small, run down, claustrophobic room.Very, very basic room-no hair dryer,no fridge, not even a rubbish bin. It does the job if you are on a very tight budget, but I would not return.
We stayed here as a stop off driving from Germany to the UK. The hotel is in the south-east corner of Amsterdam, extremely convenient for the motorway network and right next to a metro station for easy transportation into the city centre (around half and hour). It's no frills, relatively cheap, the room was good enough, my only issue was the floor in the room had clearly not been cleaned properly for some time. Other than the floor, the room was perfectly clean. There are very few amenities around the hotel, other than by driving, but it's a perfect base for stopping off and getting into town easily.
I stayed 2 nights in room 220. I was visiting Amsterdam for the Netherlands vs Sweden qualifier game. I was very surprised the metro and bus station was right beside the hotel. I didn't get a chance to visit the park behind the hotel. I checked in around 1 pm and my room was ready and the maid arrived with my towels. My last trip to Amsterdam I stay in the Leidseplein area and this room was a lot bigger. I didn't have breakfast or dinner at the hotel so I have no idea on how good or bad it was. I did visit the small food hut outside the hotel" Patat met mayonaise" should fill you up for a day or two. The city tax was a few euros, not a problem. If they had a small fridge for drinks and cold meals that would be great but cut into there margins on breakfast and dinner. If you don't need to sightsee and you are going to an Ajax FC, Netherlands game or concert at the Amsterdam arena. Then try this place out. I had one problem the shower plug didn't work in the bathtub and I reported the problem to the front desk but it wasn't fixed by the time I came back to the room. I just a had bath instead first time in years.
Excellent Staff. Great Attitude! Room was surprisingly large for Amsterdam. Super quiet at night. Big window to look on the green surroundings. The nearby (150m) Metro Station has a lift for those with sore feet or lots of luggage. The trains are efficient, clean, safe. I stayed in room 109 for five nights during the IBC Conference and the Metro/Tram combination took just over 20 minutes to the RAI front door. I was treated to one free breakfast and it was good...Buffet style with more than sufficient choices, competent staff.
We had a room overlooking the lake. The meals and drinks are a bit pricey but they put in extra effort to accommodate vegetarians also there is a fast food stand next to the hotel that is open until 8:30pm. The train station is only 50 meters from the hotel. There is a kettle and coffee/tea in the rooms but no refrigerator.
We stayed 6 nights in room 216. Very close to the metro station, bus station and to a beautiful park. Small food place next to hotel, with very good and cheap street food. Be careful, the city tax is not included in the price. The rooms look much more appealing in the photos than in reality.
Located very close to the underground station it is a good place to stay if you want to visit Amsterdam without your car. We appreciated the kindness of the personnel and the room we found which was quiet and clean. In addition this Hotel is pet friendly and this enabled us to have a great time in Amsterdam.
