Firstly, they charged us for "late check-in" without letting us know in advance. Such a "warm" welcoming.... When we first arrived, we never get to realise we need to walk up 4 floors to reach to our room, and 4 of us were like having 8 luggages in total... and once we got into the apartment, we found that the place is a completely nightmare. We saw used cigarettes on floor. The supply they provided is insufficient, as we clearly stated we have 4 people coming in, but the towels they provided were good enough for 3 people only. In he kitchen, the washing machine was unable to put the detergent capsule to clean dishes. And there was only little washing detergent provided by the house, as if everything In the house were used by previous guests. In the bathroom, no body wash or shampoo were provided, however what they gave us were 8 tubes of body lotion... and he worst is, we doubted that the lotion were used by previous guests, as you can tell the weight of the lotions were different. Most of all, the keys for the front door is the same for our apartment front door. Though we noticed there may not the other guests in the same house, we still felt a bit insecure for our property. And referring that there was robbery in their apartment, we won't suggest people with goods chose this house.
This is a great location to visit Amsterdam! A clean, spacious apartment, with 2 luxurious bathrooms a Nice big kitchen, WiFi and laundry facilities. Just steps away from a supermarket, the city centre and the Heinekenexperience! We hope to be back in may!
little apartament but in a very good position....perfect! near the house: heineken experience, albert cup market, the museums are just to 3 min walk. dam square about 15 min walk. in the streets there are a lot of restaurants, fast food and bars.
Our family of four, two adults and two kids, stayed at the Jordan-9 apartments. The location was perfect -- near sites, cute shops, two grocery stores and the market on Saturdays. The apartment was very comfortable, well laid out and had just about everything we needed including a washing machine and dishwasher. Martin met us at the apartment early and was very nice and helpful. The company included a booklet about the apartment with directions for the espresso machine, washing machine, etc. The only thing we could have used was a freezer. There were two winding staircases which didn't bother us at all but could be difficult for others. We also used the recommended taxi to the airport.
When we arrived at the apartment there was already a person waiting for us to give us the keys and explain the features of the apartments. The guy was very helpful and also gave us a few tips about the city of Amsterdam. The location was very good, we rented bikes for everyone and could visit every part of the city with little effort. The apartments were well equipped with everything that we needed.
I stayed with 3 friends and they did not want to give us more than 2 keys for the house, the bathrooms started to smell badly the night we got in for no reason. They gived us only 1 towels each, there where no soap on the sink, the dish soap was more water than actual soap, there is no way to understand wich dispenser you shold use in the shower and there is no stop the water to go everywhere in the bathroom. The sofa sheets where 2 single orizontal and not 1 double bed sheet. There is no way to properly open the window because of locks. There where no salt nor winegar nor salt in the kitchen. We met a maid and he was rude tu us. The guy that showed us the apartment was really friendly and helpful thought. Also the location is great for museums
The apartment is very confortable and no far away from the centrum (20 min to Central Station walking). Recomanded for a family; you will have relax at home and all tourist options near. The apartment has all complements that is exposed in the web.
We had a wonderful experience. Martin and his friend from the agency met us at 2p and showed us around the apartments. They familiarized us with the local area and were very positive. The rooms were clean, well lit, roomy (for Europe) and provided the basic amenities that someone could need. We were on level 2 (which was actually 3rd floor) and had a balcony. The views were nice. They neighborhood was safe and quiet. We had friends staying on the ground floor and their only complaint was you had to climb down steep steps to get to the bedroom (basement level). This is hard for elderly or disable individuals. This is good to ask when booking. Also, we arrived at 12:30 and I called the # that we were told to call. They confirmed that they could not get us in until 2p, nor did they have a place to securely store our luggage (although the website did say the same on booking). The cleaning crew was done before 1p, and they tried calling to get us in early, unsuccessful. Regardless, this was stated on website, so not Cityden's fault. Overall, we were very pleased with Cityden and would recommend it to anyone.
197 Connexxion bus form Schiphol Airport takes you to within a 5 minute walk from the apartment. Easy directions to meet up with representative. Perfect location, within minutes to Van Gogh Museum and within 10 mins tram to city centre (Dam Square), very safe area and nice and quiet in the evenings. V good security system. Apartment was perfect, 1 good size bedroom with ensuite, 2 kids shared a double sofa bed in living room, which also had a breakfast bar/diner and kitchen - with washing machine and dishwasher. WIndows in bedroom and lounge opened and for a family of 4 it was ideal for us. Only negative thing was the bathroom did not have an extractor fan or a scent spray so there was a consant stale smell coming from the bathroom, I think if we were going to be there for any longer we may have mentioned it but we bought an air freshener and used it everytime we went in the bathroom. Overall we would happily recommend Cityden Apartments, they were easy to deal with and conversed via email without any problems. Had a wonderful time in Amsterdam, made easier by staying in such nice accommodation.
After one night in our booked apartment we were asked to leave and go to another one as there had been a booking issue. (we had booked and paid in full, in January for a July 7 day stay) We obligingly moved from a 3 bedroom apartment to a 2 bedroom apartment thinking they were offering a 3 bedder. They called it a 3 bedder because they had a flop down wall bed in the corridor !!! Beware!!! They must get lots of complaints as they dismissed my claim on a partial refund. Expedia as the booking agent could do nothing about it. Breach of contract doesn't seem to exist. Leave Cityden and Expedia well alone is my advice as when things go wrong there is no recourse.
