Ticks most of the boxes for a comfortable out of town hotel. Clean, tidy and reasonably well managed. Signs of age especially in the restaurant as the seat covers are well worn. We enjoyed our stay though somewhat disappointed that the bar was closed and no alcohol was provided in the restaurant. Seemingly they have signed up for AA or something? The hotel is close to the Airport so it is noisy so light sleepers beware! Access to and from the airport is good as the bus service is frequent. Likewise travelling into downtown is served by bus and or tram every few minutes throughout the day with the bus/tram stops just a very short walk from the hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone on a budget as we were.
I have to say it was actually about 3/4 years ago since I stayed at this hotel but nevertheless my visit was truly pleasant. It's a little out of the way from Dam centre but easily accessible by trams which were frequent. Hotel very clean, staff welcoming and great English speaking. Plus breakfast also included in deal I booked and it was absolutely delicious. I have recommended people to stay here and some have done so too
This was by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in only saving grace was a comfy bed,the twin room I was in was tiny for two people barely enough room for one person although it appeared clean on closer inspection there was hair in the bathroom a stain on the headboard and a used condom lying outside of our window, within 20 minutes of arriving we had someone banging on the door when I opened it the young lady barged past me (I and my friend were half naked)and insisted we were smoking which we were not whoever was in the room before us had tied plastic bags around the smoke detector and by me spraying deodorant as we had just come in somehow set the alarm off a ten minute argument was only calmed down once the lady calmed down and could see it was not us however we were threatened with being thrown out of the hotel at 11pm all this within half hour of our arrival,we were then warned we were on the watch list one more mistake and we were out.our room was cleaned again during our stay but the used condom remained throughout our stay and is probably still there, the rest of the staff were ok although the staffs English could be well improved, the hotel is in a residential area but we found everyone outside the hotel to be very nice.
The best thing about the hotel is its proximity to the 69 bus (to the airport for access to flights and to Keukenhof Park) and two trams (7 and 14) that go directly into different parts of the city centre. I was travelling with my brother, so I also liked the fact that the placement of the two single beds in our room allowed for privacy. The view from our room was pleasant, looking over water and canal boats (although very sunny in the morning, so could be very hot in summer). We weren't bothered by noise. The bedding was comfortable. Most of the receptionists were very helpful. The location of the hotel may look a bit dodgy at first, but the taxi driver assured us the area was perfectly safe and that was certainly our experience.
If, like us, you prefer to get away from the giant tourist attraction that is the canal ring try this hotel. It's a quiet area with nice views of the lake, but still has enough restaurants and bars to keep you happy. It's quite a long tram journey but the staff are lovely, the rooms clean and it's all very good value. We'd stay here again.
This hotel did not meet my expectations considering the money spent. The room was not as described prior to booking. We knew we would have twin beds from the description prior to booking, but they were supposed to be side by side. They ended up being end to end in a very small room. I'm not a conspiracy theorist but I do believe a switch was made on us. The bathroom was tiny and the shower leaked water into the bathroom with every use and we were running out of hot water this morning. It wasn't all bad, of course. The staff was great, the restaurant was good and access to transit was fine. Transit is important because you're 25 minutes from downtown. This was a next to last minute booking so we didnt have many options in Amsterdam. This is ok if you really need a place to stay, but it shouldnt be your first choice.
Stayed here for 4 nights in April. Meets all basic expectations, cleanliness, helpful staff, nice breakfast, comfortable beds and rooms. This hotel is not in the centre of Amsterdam, but has good public transport links with trams right outside the door and a train just down the road. Travel into the city is approx 25mins from the hotel. If you are mobile and happy to walk woth no car then this hotel will be fine for you. There is a supermarket next door which is handy. The only downfall is that the rooms do not have mini-fridges. There are a couple of other turkish places nearby to eat if you fancy eating locally, otherwise city is not far away and a few nice options along tram 13, 14 and 7.
Don't be put off by first appearances - this is an extremely clean hotel- great housekeeping . Tea & coffee making facilities in room are a welcome addition - restocked every day . Bathroom products are also replenished. We didn't eat in the hotel but there are three supermarkets in the immediate facility which is great for breakfast (breakfast €10 in hotel pre- booked at reception). Not a great variety of restaurants nearby so we ate in the city before returning at night - also no bar but wine sold in supermarket. Transport to and from Central station and Dam square is very accessible from this hotel. We travelled with two young teens and the tram in particular was a great way to see more than just touristic Amsterdam. Would recommend this hotel as one away from the hustle and bustle and especially if you like to discover the city you're visiting.
Comfortable stay and very nice hotel; favourable position in the city to reach the centre and quite close to the airport. I would recommend this hotel to families too due to its cozy and welcoming atmosphere. Moreover it's not noisy at night and you can rest well.
A good location away from the centre of Amsterdam but had very good transport facilities to get to the city centre. Although there was a large ethnic community in the area this did not cause any problems. The staff were very friendly and helpful ,nothing was a problem to them. The rooms and Breakfast were very good with the T.V. showing BBC channels . Although there is a charge for parking at the hotel this was included in our hotel bill,Overall an enjoyable stay
