Best Western Blue Tower Hotel

We knew this hotel was out of the city centre but at a price of 200 euro a night you would expect to get what is advertised as a 4 star hotel . We had emailed before the trip and specifically requested that our room be one of the refurbished one as promised and upgraded to executive room as per email and offer from best Western. Not what we got at all Even though we had spoken to receptionist on checking in. We had a also checked by email that the upgrade offer was actually to a bigger room than we had booked but ended up in a smaller room . The double bed mattress was way too small for the base and so over 4 nights we regularly banged our shins when going in or out of the bathroom . There were 3 elevators but never all working at the same time. 3 desks at reception but never more than 2 open at the same time. Our room was tentatively cleaned on the morning after arrival but the following day - not at all. Strangely a do not disturb sign was put outside our room on more than one occasion but not by us which saved it being cleaned ND towels changed etc.

Liked this hotel. Good first impressions which are so important I think. Staff were great and checked us in quickly and gave us a nice room. Very clean and nice bed which was very comfy. Bathroom good and cleaning staff came in and did a good job and left clean towels etc. Was quiet at night and we slept well. Liked the location and thought the price was very good for the great standard the hotel gives. We'd stay here again.

This hotel is little far from all actions in city. However is in goid and safe neighborhood. Rooms are specious and good. Staff are friendly. Doent have much to offer, but is goid value for your money.

We weren't too sure about the hotel when we arrived late at night on bus 21 from the train station. It seemed to be in a less-desirable part of town and was on the far side of a dark plaza. But it ended up working great for us. We had the hotel breakfast one day, but most other days we just picked up food from the grocery stores right next door (which don't take most credit cards, by the way). The map at the hotel was really handy for figuring out bus and tram routes. It took a good 20 minutes to get into the city each time, but it was easy. Thanks to another TripAdvisor review, we knew to buy 3-day bus passes from the iAmsterdam shop, so that made it super easy to get around. Definitely worth it. The hotel was comfortable. Wifi was good in some places and spotty in others. The staff was friendly and helpful.

hotel is really good and clean but it is far form the city center. near the hotel there is tram station which you can reach center 25 minute. Around hotel is not very safe to walk alone in the night..

Hotel was clean and tidy with modern décor. Friendly and welcoming reception staff. Easy to get to on public transport from the airport, a 10 minute train ride followed by a 10 minute bus ride, about 3 euros per person for each. We had travel information emailed to us by the hotel on request. The room again was clean, tidy and modern but was a bit dark with a dingy view of apartment windows opposite and a big pillar in the centre of the room. Breakfast is 10 euros if you book the day before (a bit cheaper than standard price) but was not that great. Food not very hot, a few things had run out and it took some time for it to be replaced (half an hour or longer) although there were always staff present, replenishing food did not seem to be a priority! Location is a bit far out from town, a 15 minute tram ride. We bought a 'hop on hop off' ticket which was valid for an hour so had to buy each time we got on a tram. Would recommend you buy for a longer period (48 hours) for ease of travelling and hopping on and off, we did not realise we could do this until the day we left. The trams no londer accept cash as payment only card (from the end of March 2017) so worth looking into tickets for a longer time period. All in all, it was fine and fit for purpose, which was to sleep and shower!

You can reach the hotel from Schipol airport by bus number 69. From the hotel you can take bus number 21. To go to Dam Square just take tram number 14. You can take tram number 7 to go to Rijksmuseum, Hardrock Cafe or Haineken Experience.

This is a good hotel for visiting Amsterdam. Approx 20 mins from airport by taxi €40 euro.or 45 mins by bus using bus, metro travel card €12.50 for 48 hours.it is minutes from bus or tram into Dam square which takes 15 mins. Next to supermarket and fast food outlets in a residential area it is a good base. Hotel is tidy, rooms good and staff helpful ,polite and courteous.good value

Room spacious and light. Great views. Staff are very friendly and affable. Airport shuttle bus available. Location ok, a bit far from city. Bus 21 takes you straight to city centre/ rail station. Would highly recommend 🙏

We stayed here for just under a week on a business / study trip. We chose it primarily because it was cheap at the time but it turned out to be a fantastic place to base ourselves. The hotel is outside the city in the western suburbs but is well connected to the central station and Amsterdam centrum by bus and tram. The room was better than I had expected: spacious, stylishly furnished with a huge TV, a good sized desk and a Nespresso machine. Good free WiFi that supported video conferencing and my company VPN. The hotel has a 24 hour reception and the staff were wonderful, always on hand to help us out with anything we needed. The area is not exactly a tourist hotspot, but there are two shopping centres at the rear of the hotel and plenty of cafés and take away places within easy walking distance. All in all a good stay and I would have no reservations with booking another.
