location about a mile out of centre but there are plenty of trams hotel was lovley but one moan is the tea and coffee in the room was a bit hit and miss it was every thing out of coffee machine which did not allways work a small kettle would of been handy and the wfi was very weak you expect more for £150
The hotel was clean & the people working there was lovely. Fair bit away from central but it was a nice bus ride. Only down side was the area as it was really rough & felt anxious walking round day/night
We loved to have a wide and clean room, not so far from Amsterdam Centrum. The tram and the bus to the city center were just out of the hotel. We found very useful the possibility of a free luggage room before check-in and after check-out.
There is a Nesscafe machine in the room, which was nice. It's very clean and all things look perfectly placed, it was just tiny, there is no where, but the bed, to open your suit case if you have a full sized case, so with 2 of us it was comical. We were only there 2 nights so it was no big deal but if we were looking at a week I'd ask if there were a larger option available. We didn't get the breakfast but the room for it looked nice.
Good hotel in Amsterdam. Everything has been good. A bit far away from the city center, We have used the tram, are around 5 stops until Dam Square. We were in the 8th floor where you can see the city from the top. Amazing 😊
there were a few problems with our rooms when we arrived, but these were remedied straight away and we were given free breakfast for our stay which was great. staff are excellent, friendly and helpful, couldn't do enough for us
My friend and I booked this hotel for a last minute break for 3 nights. we stayed in a room on the 7th floor and the room was of a good size however one of the ceiling boards was missing and there was no refrigerator. Our hairdryer also broke during the stay and instead of fixing it reception gave us one to borrow and asked for a deposit of 10 euro? The hotel breakfast is 15 euros a day, however there is a supermarket next door so we chose to get food from here each day. we purchased i amsterdam cards for 60 euros for 2 which gave us access to over 40 tourist locations and included transport, which we felt was worth it.
Hotels in Amsterdam are notoriously expensive, particularly in the city centre and main tourist areas. If you want a comfortable hotel and are prepared to stay a 25 minutes tram journey from the main tourist attractions and not break the bank then this hotel is a good choice. The hotel is located in the suburb of Bos en Lommerplein which appears to be a predominantly Arab/Turkish neighbourhood which is both quiet and easily accessible to the city centre. Within a 5 minute walk at most from the hotel, you have trams connecting you to downtown and to the area where the main museums are. There is a bus that connects you to slotterdijk railway station where a train will take you directly to Schipol airport and all including in your daily travel pass. The room we had, a triple, was spacious and comfortable and even had a nespresso machine in the room. The bathroom was very big with the only downside the lack of a mirror above the sink. This is a large hotel, we were on the 10th floor but if this doesn't bother you then give it a try. Breakfast was extra but in our view good value as you could fuel up for the day and not have to worry about a big lunch. Also very handy is a decent sized supermarket next door to the hotel where you could effectively self-cater.
I was on a two day visit to Amsterdam. The hotel is a little far than expected from city center, however, the nearby tram and bus station made it easily accessible (20 mins) from dam square. I was surprised that it was a non smoking hotel. Every time at night u need to go down in front of the hotel to have a smoke. The nearby area didn't feel safe at night also. The air conditioning wasn't working at all. There wasn't a fridge in the room (don't know why?!!!). I didn't ask about both cause i wasn't really planning to stay in the room alot. Wouldn't be here again and i won't recommend. Positives: nice staff and free wifi.
Me and my friend stayed here in February and had a really pleasant stay. We was slightly sceptical at first as it had a few mixed reviews about it being dated. On arrival it was clear to see that a lot of renovations was happening within the hotel as a lot of works men was in the lobby carrying chairs and tables. We checked in quickly with a friendly guy behind reception and made our way up to our room which was lovely. Nice and modern decor and spotlessly clean. We was more than happy considering the price we paid to stay here too. The hotel is in a great location with a supermarket just around the corner, there is a tram stop just walk away which takes you directly into all main stop off points and it also runs till really late which is helpful. Over all if I return back to Amsterdam I will definitely be staying back at the best western blue tower.
