My wife has blonde hair. We found multiple long black hairs in shower, the floor around the toilet, and in the sink area. The place was ok but it sure makes me question the rest of their housekeeping practices as well.
Residence Inn Suites in Amarillo TX is a great place to stay for business or leisure travel. The rooms and facility are clean, modern and comfortable. The suite was nicely furnished and the kitchenette was equipped well. The bed/bedding were super comfortable. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We truly felt welcome there. The pricing was competitive and the location was very convenient. Good dining and shopping in close proximity
Special thanks to Amber and Keisha for the upgraded Marriott Rewards room, it was most appreciated, especially with that fireplace that with a flick of the switch threw on flames and much needed heat in the early-morning cold of Amarillo. Fitness room had weights, indoor pool and hot-tub, breakfast the usual RI fare (along with those delicious hand-packed fat-free yogurts). Only downside: no daily newspaper, as Marriott is apparently halting this guest perk. Note to management: Please pass it along that we are more than unhappy about this. And other readers might want to also note your dissatisfaction with this change in policy in your reviews, so it makes it back to Marriott.
Friendly staff and easy check in. Super convenient on and off the freeway. The place to stay if working at one of the hospitals on Coulter. Easy access to Cadillac ranch and local venues. Mall is just down the street.
I have stayed at a number of Residence Inn hotels and have been always pleased with the stay. This Amarillo hotel was no different. The room was clean. The beds was extremely comfortable. The kitchen offered everything I need so that I could cook myself both dinner and breakfast. The staff was friendly and courteous. I would definitely stay here on my next visit.
We just had a fantastic stay at this hotel! I have a really bad back and because of the great beds I had a fantastic sleep! The breakfast was amazing! We also needed to do our wash and they had the facilities right down the hall!
In the process of moving to a rental home for the winter months with my wife and our pups. Residence Inns are very friendly toward animals so we always try to focus on them when we travel as some hotels will not allow. But in this case we were pulling a small UHaul trailer behind our vehicle. When we arrived, there was no pull through parking for the vehicle, so I spoke to the front desk clerk who I believe was named Audrey and she could not have been more accomodating. Helped me find a place to park and feel secure for the night that nothing would happen to the vehicle. Nice hotel as you would expect from the Marriott properties. Good Breakfast - again with a nice lady who was very accomodating. Cannot speak high enough about this staff.
Recently stayed here for two days for work. I've stayed in many Residence Inns in the past so I knew what I was in for. Apparently, this is the best hotel in Amarillo and close to my work location. Here's the review: Location: 1 mile away from my work location so great for me. Target 1 mile away. Lots of fast food places around. Not much else. Two concerns though. It's located right on Highway 40 so you WILL hear lots of road noise , especially if your room is facing the highway. Harley Davidson is close by so that doesn't help as well. Front Desk: Probably the best thing about the hotel. Check-in person was very courteous but didn't say much about the amenities of the hotel. I asked for toiletries and got them right away. I asked for a room change (more on that later on) and received one right away. Only fishy thing was that I noticed a charge on my credit card when I received the bill underneath the door. The room had been pre-paid so I wondered why I received a charge. I inquired and they said that they billed "accidentally" at the higher rate. Not sure if this was a mistake or an attempt to squeeze a little more money. Seemed kinda shady to me. Room: Here is the main complaint(s). Upon first entering the room, I noticed an OVERPOWERING ODOR. It smelled like a mix of cumin and sweaty armpit. It in the front of the room but not where the bed was located. It was also in the bathroom. The room was a little warm (75). I set the thermostat to 68 (from 70). Maybe they just turned it on. Just got off the plane but work started in 1 hour so I figured I'd take a quick shower. No soap, no conditioner, no shampoo. Ok then, no shower. Came back from the job and went back into the room and still that terrible smell. The room was even warmer at 76F. Still no soap. I was extremely tired so I went to bed. I smelled but hey, the room smelled too. I woke up in the middle of the night sweating profusely. It was still 76 despite turning the thermostat to 65. In the morning, I requested a room change and received one promptly. I also requested toiletries just in case there was nothing like in the first room. The odor in the second room was not as bad but still there. I am not sure whether it is the cleaning solution they are using or some other scent the cleaning staff is using/wearing. At least the thermostat and A/C worked. Otherwise, room was dated. There were stains on the couch. Overall not as bad as a Super 8 Motel. I've stayed in those in my younger years. But definitely not worthy of Marriott brand. Overall: If this is the best that Amarillo has to offer, then I will definitely not stay longer than I need to. I will request the Holiday Inn Express next time. A colleague had told me that it was not bad. We'll see.
This hotel is a revitalizing experience for a guy road weary and stuffed in a van with 3 other people for three weeks, but i feel like id say this in no matter the situation if i chose to stay at Residence in Amarillo. Even the front desk does not seem like a "hotel check-in" but more like a stay in a town home or something like that, and be greeted with a smile and a cookie, yes, i said it, complimentary cookies! Right by the front desk is a place to purchase several "home" amenities that you may not have with you, and it is a wide variety of things to fill your needs. The hotel also has a really great outdoor patio for those late night hangs, or if you wanted to spend the afternoon taking advantage of the grill! The rooms are great, equipped with "full-size" refrigerator and stove, yep, a full size kitchen right in your hotel room. So whether you are traveling with a family, a band, or just need space to yourself from your travel buddy, these rooms have two rooms within them, two bathrooms, and a pull out couch. this place feels like home, and you have to stay here. 10 out of 10!!
I contacted the Residence Inn because it says "pet friendly" on their website. I called their front desk and was told there is a $100 non-refundable deposit. Way too steep for my family---and we ended up at LaQuinta Inn with no deposit!! So, LaQuinta is truly "pet friendly", whereas charging a non-refundable $100 deposit for a pet is not!!! Most pets are cleaner than the majority of humans (if you count babies, toddlers, drunks, "Spring breakers", teenagers, millennials, and slobs!!).
