The fire alarm went off at 1:45 am. Everyone evacuated outside, and we stood out there for a pretty good length of time - in the light rain- until finally the alarm turned off. No hotel employee, no fire department, no explanation. When I asked at the front desk the next day, the clerk didn't know why it happened ("Maybe a malfunction") and said the overnight employee was new. She could not give me any discount for the inconvenience because I paid through Orbitz. I used to travel A LOT on business, and have never been evacuated in the middle of the night by a fire alarm. If only they had an employee trained to turn off the alarm when it malfunctions! I'll be staying somewhere else next time I have to stop in Amarillo. (Too bad, because it was a really comfortable bed!)

While traveling cross country with a 90lb dog there are few places willing to accommodate us let alone at a reasonable price. This location did both! Thank you.

I liked the freshness of the facility and its accessibility.

This is obviously a newer property, but not worth the money. There are several other newer options that are less expensive. And, there was nothing that said we would be charged an additional $23 on arrival for a pet. We were just passing through for the night and didn’t know enough about the city to look further.

Easy access to interstate. Clean. Friendly staff. Good breakfast.

Meet son half way to deliver his dog . Staff was very friendly

Very accommodating even with a very late check in

Beautiful hotel, comfy room, close to airport. Only down side is it’s a bit noisy. Could train staff to adjust door so they done slam.

Nice new hotel. Rooms spacious, tiles at room entrance look a tad grotty. Fridge was noisy. Breakfast was similar to other la quintas.

Nice and clean and right down the expressway from The Big Texan.

The room itself was nice and spacious. The free breakfast was great. However, the AC in our room was not working satisfactorily. It could have just been the room we were in though. Can't speak for the many other rooms in the hotel. Don't trust Google Maps on this one as it took us to the wrong Laquinta.

I have stayed there 3 times over the last few months traveling through Amarillo. Nice and clean each time. It’s also pet friendly which is a plus.

Barbara, Thank you for reviewing our hotel. I apologize that the alarm disturbed your stay. I will address this concern with my team. Again I apologize and thank you for choosing La Quinta.
