Hunting Retreat Cabin

We arrived at the specified time to find the cabin had not been cleaned. We attempted multiple calls to the management company, but messages just kept going to voice mail. We then sent photos of the uncleaned cabin through email and Marie called us back. She apologized for the oversight and had provided us with another option that suited us MUCH MORE. In my opinion, the cabin photos don't accurately depict the "cabin feel" that you get upon arrival. The cabin felt more like a hunting retreat in the mountains rather than a relaxing get away with modern conveniences.

Beautiful views

If you ever need a break from the metro area, this cabin is perfect! Less than two hours from Denver but you feel so much farther. This cabin has beautiful views, comfy furnishings, and access to Fairplay for any food or beverage needs. I really loved my stay, especially the fireplace heater, and will definitely return!

Private and Cozy

We stayed here during a Breckenridge Ski Trip while our daughter was home from college. We like staying in Alma and this place was the perfect place for 4 of us and our dog Jaeger. It had everything we needed to prepare breakfast and dinner. It was nice having both a Keurig and a coffee pot for our use. We will definitely make this a preferred location for future visits in the summer and winter!

Excellent!

My husband and I were extremely satisfied with this place! It was perfect. We wanted a secluded mountain get away and that is exactly what it was. It was close enough to Breckenridge for day activities. They got the driveway plowed quickly and our dog was welcome, and he also loved it. 10/10. Definitely recommend.

A quiet slice of heaven!

The cabin is tucked neatly in pine trees next to a little creek. The first night I went outside with it lightly snowing. It was silent. I live on a busy street in town and the silence was healing. The only sound was the creek running soothingly in the background. The cabin was a dream! It was very clean and well taken care of. Even with temps dropping into the 20s, I barely needed the heat on. I sat quietly in front of the full picturesque window with the gas stove running on low. It was a distance from everywhere I went, but the drive was stunning from every direction. I needed to get away from noise pollution and I found the perfect spot. This is on my list to visit again!

Needs thorough cleaning and updating

Nice location if you like remote. We do. The place is a dump and the property manager is unresponsive. Dirty wall to wall carpet with dirty area rugs on top of the carpet. Broken blinds. Food in the kitchen sink. Coffee grounds in the coffee pot. Filthy stove. All the furniture is from a previous century. We left early the first morning of a 4 day lease. Washed everything including the dog as soon as we got home. Still no response from the property manager after calls and emails. Don’t even think about it until after the health department determines if place is fit for human habitation.

STRESSED

Nice property. Biggest complaint is that we did not get our access code until 30 minutes before our arrival. We had to contact the manager driving down the road. He said the automatic sender malfunctioned. He also failed to respond to a question I asked last week. Biggest complaint on the property, bad shower valve. Almost impossible to adjust the temperature.

JUST PERFECT!

Wow, this place is awesome! I loved it! Nice and roomy, beautiful location. The stream really added to the stay. Also loved the gas stove fireplace. I didn't get a chance to hike the surrounding area, I had fishing on my mind! I will definitely come back!

Nice place just outside Alma, CO, just as 'advertised'. Among the trees, there is a great little stream you can listen to all night. Close to Breckenridge but nice to be away from the crowd. The suggestions of things to do were spot on and we greatly enjoyed our time!

Sorta messy, had to contact owners for check in just 2 hours prior to arriving, they said they would contact me first. Doesn’t seem like it had been cleaned really at all, and SO SO many spiders.

Nice place to stay

The cabin was exactly as expected. Good space for two couples to stay at. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything we could need. Large selection of CD movies as well. If visiting in the winter with snow, make sure you have a good snow capable car.

Perfect Cabin Getaway

My partner and I stayed at this cabin for four days and if we could change anything, it would only be staying longer! It provided us the relaxation and solitude we were seeking, with plenty of personal touches throughout to make it feel like home. We especially enjoyed the DVD collection (Harry Potter!) and the fireplace for cozy nights. This cabin is a gem! Thank you for having us!

Excellent Stay!

My family and I stayed here for a quick getaway to Breck. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. We stayed up playing board games in the kitchen area all night😊 Would definitely come back again!
