We travel a lot so I'm not a picky hotel person, persay. I do expect a Holiday Inn to be pretty decent though, based on past experience. We stayed here last night on our way from Florida to Texas. The room size was good and the staff were friendly. Unfortunately, the room smelled terrible. It smelled like marijuana and cigarette smoke that had been badly covered up with fake scent - our clothes and hair smelled terrible. The paper thin floors - ugh - no sound proofing. The people above us started running and yelling loudly from 5-7am. Already bleary-eyed - the ONE hotel elevator was not working. Good times dragging a family of fives luggage down the stairs. The breakfast was hot and good - nice variety of foods available. Wouldn't stay at a newer Holiday Inn again based on this experience.
We stayed in Room 403- we just spent half an hour chasing a massive roach around the room trying to kill it. It got away and now we don't know if we'll be able to sleep. VERY UPSET. WILL NOT RETURN. Horrifying.
Even though they are doing a renovation the hotel was clean, staff was friendly and location from the interstate is very convenient. They let us park our motorcycle under the front entry not for weather but because that area has surveillance cameras. Will stay here again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Holiday Inn Express, Alexandria, La! The hotel is beautiful and very clean with lots of ammenities. Every single staff member was friendly and courteous; the manager, front desk clerks, housekeepers, maintenance and the kitchen staff. We arrived in town well before the check-in time so called the hotel to see if we could check-in early. Lorna was very friendly and helpful and even though our room wasn't ready yet, she called to let us know as soon as it was. The complimentary breakfast was awesome; one of the best in the business! Also the hotel is conveniently located near everything we needed.
Stayed here January 8, 2017 as part of a cross country road trip. I have been impressed with the upgrades Holiday Inn has made over the last few years. Clean, modern, and furnished well. Great customer service. Richard was very helpful during my stay and was very friendly during the check in process. He was able to provide me with some toiletries as well. Parking lot is well lit, area seems safe, and it is across from a nice church.
We stayed for one night on our way back from Pensacola Beach to Dallas. The hotel has modern look and was probably renovated recently. We could smell fresh paint in the room and was little hard to bear. I used my car air freshener to make it little bearable. The breakfast was typical holiday inn express breakfast we had before. There are few restaurants close by. Not a bad place for a short stay.
Beautiful, new hotel. Excellent customer service. Richard went above and beyond his job expectations to accommodate me in a comfortable room and to make me feel like a valued customer. Cheers to great customer service ! I'll be back on a future business trip and will stay with y'all again.
Over-all the place is not terrible. The hotel is going for a resurfacing but needs a extensive face lift. The lobby has new modern furniture, but the elevators and hallways are shabby, not chic. The mattress are low end and the air conditioning was off in the room. The room smelled stale but after the filtration was turned on it was bearable. We checked in late and left early. The price was a little expensive for the hotel but we were glad for a bed.
I stayed here for ten days in early June. Yes, it was under construction, I get that. I was on one of the floors that was completed and it was disgusting. I stay in a LOT of Holiday Inns. I'm platinum and will continue to stay in Holiday Inns. This one was by far the worst. It wasn't even that old. Simply dirty, unsupervised, and no effort put into keeping it up to Holiday inn standards. There were stains on the floor of the elevator lobby that I passed day after day. My room seemed to never be vacuumed, dusted or cleaned. The worst holiday inn I've been in yet, and I've been in a lot of them, worldwide.
Clean and comfortable all the way around. Excellent beds. Breakfast included turkey sausage, which was a pleasant surprise for this person who does not eat pork. Updated furniture. This hotel does not have a restaurant or bar, but both are within easy driving distance, and the staff is friendly and helpful with directions and recommendations. In fact, they seem to have an agreement with Cajun Landing Restaurant - which will give you a free desert if you mention you were referred by this hotel.
