Justin Coffman, the General Mgr., has this place on the fast track for making raving fans! He's instilling the attitudes it takes to be leaders in Guest Satisfaction. We stayed for a week recently, and yes, they are renovating, but I've seen a lot worse. And the finished rooms are brand new and so nice. The staff is still a little inconsistent, but our housekeeper was superb, and the desk clerk at check in was excellent. It was nice to have Security guarding the property, though the area doesn't seem bad. And it's right next to the best BBQ restaurant in the country~ Rudy's! The breakfast was less than stellar, but I believe the GM will have that corrected quickly. Sometimes it feels like hotels consider customers as commodities to be tolerated, and to extract every dollar they can from them. It's rare to find staff that care enough to do whatever it takes to make their guests satisfied. But that's exactly what I found at this Residence Inn. I found myself feeling a little disappointed, and voiced my opinions to the desk clerk. I'm used to hearing "oh, we're sorry" and you leave and stew about it the rest of the day. When the GM heard about it, he reached out to me, and wanted to hear all about it! After our conversations, I became a "Raving Fan", and will never stay anywhere else. I like being appreciated for my patronage, and knowing that the staff really cares!
I stayed in the Residence in for only one night but overall it was pleasant. The location is pretty convenient for my needs. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was helpful and friendly. My room had two large flatscreen TVs, a king bed and a fireplace. A full kitchen is provided. I was in one of the newly remodeled rooms and there were a few remodeling glitches (missing bottom door sweep and broken fireplace damper) but overall pleasant. The free wifi was a bit troublesome to connect to and I was never able to upgrade to faster internet so the wife was pretty sluggish. There is a Rudy's BBQ at the end of the street and a Walgreen's pharmacy nearby.
Breakfast was horrible, dried up eggs. They are undergoing renovation. Having said that, breakfast should not be so poor. I went to FDesk to tell them and breakfast attendant is sitting having a break in the office. I guess its 30 minutes till the breakfast closed so we don't need to keep it up to standard?? WOW! I had to go out to eat. Several families came in and left. Breakfast attendant seemingly does not know quality. I asked are we getting more eggs she said she keeps them low portions to prevent drying...NEWS FLASH...they are already dry strategy not working! Also, it's in a shady area. The hotel's area declined and seems very shady. They have security but I would choose other areas. This is definitely not a Marriott quality hotel can't recommend. Choose another Residence Inn as this is not is a good area.
Very friendly service and they went above and beyond to fix problems with the internet in Bldg 1. Road noise usually doesn't bother me, but this was very, very loud. Recommend asking for a room facing away from the interstate. Breakfast was okay and just as you would expect from a Residence Inn. Would consider returning, but will wait until after the renovations are complete.
The main office was closed for renovation and the sign had an arrow pointing right to get to the temporary office. I didn't understand, because I followed the second sign, also pointing right, around to the back of the office building. I circumnavigated the office before realizing that the office for check-in must be somewhere else. I then noticed the flag set up next to a guestroom now serving as the office. The clerk at check-in did not apologize for the haphazard directions that I found confusing. However, she was very nice. The room she gave me was in Building 13, I think, and upstairs. It was on the east side of the property and facing east - which looked towards a storage space rental, if I remember. The south side of the property faces the I-40 highway. The hotel is one block south of the Menaul Boulevard thoroughfare. I found the room very nice and comfortable. The bathroom was clean, but it had a timer to control the light. It turned off on me when I was on the toilet. I had used the shower just prior and I think I turned the timer halfway (15 minutes or so). The hotel offers breakfast but I didn't sample it. At the moment, I believe the breakfast is also in a temporary location. The hotel rooms should look really nice after the renovation, but I found them to be just fine as is. There was a free bottle of water for me, waiting in the fridge, which was nice. The cable TV options were meager, but I don't think that's very important.
As usual, Residence Inn provides nicely spacious rooms that are great when traveling with family. Staff in both the evening and morning were super friendly. Note that the office and breakfast room have been moved to another building while theirs is being renovated. It was a bit hard to see the signs for the temporary office location when we arrived at night. Breakfast was excellent and included many hot and cold choices. My only complaint was that the temporary breakfast room is way too small. I’d recommend taking food back to your room if at all possible. I wish they had used one of the bigger apartments to house this area.
I've just spent a week in this place. They structure is new, very well arranged. We had for five days a two room suite, with a very comfortable leaving room, including a wonderful fireplace. In the week end I was alone in a single bed suite. Everything is clean, well placed. Complimentary breakfast is excellent. But what makes the different is personnel! the most friendly of my long business travel experiences. Jacob helped so much with my issue with wii-fi Melinda is more than a wonderful supporting people Debby (?) so professional I'll go back
My room was very clean and well kept. The kitchen had all the necessities for a short stay (coffee maker/filters, pan with lid, toaster, towels, soap, dishes). This was also very central to all the places we were going. And quick trip to the airport.
I did a lot of research on Marriott Hotels with a 2 room setup that was centrally located and this one fir the bill. There were many positive reviews despite the renovations that have been going on since the summer. There is still no lobby or dining area (just one of the rooms doubling as this area) After our first day, our keys stopped working and we went to make up the pullout bed and found no linens. They did get a small bag of linens to us and the employee who brought them, thankfully, ran back to the office to get another set of keys as they ones we had just had re-keyed still did not work. We were surprised to see security on the premises walking the parking lot 24/7 but our friends told us that there is a huge homeless population right near the property. The room was OK but is in sore need of an update. It was impossible to get the HVAC system to work properly unless it was off and the air handler is in the main bedroom on the first floor. Be warned that is you booked this room during winter so you could use the fireplace, it is not a gas fireplace, you must use a chemical log, and none are supplied.Everything in Albuquerque is 15 or so minutes away, so if you want a 2 BR room - choose the Residence Inn at the Albuquerque Airport location. We stayed there after returning from Colorado and were pleasantly supposed at the difference between the 2 properties. Clean, updated and attentive staff and the pullout was 100% more comfortable.
Stayed overnight at this Residence Inn and found it to be like the others we have stayed at; lots of room, comfortable bed, clean and well kept. In fact they had closed off part of the units for renovation to make sure they were kept up. The unit was quiet and we had a great night for sleeping. Several eating establishments were close if we wanted to walk to one. Hot breakfast is provided in a small dining room.
