Excellent location, great breakfast and munchies in the evening. Nice decorations and spacious rooms, a real suite. Very much felt at home. Enjoyed my stay and will definitely be back. Great service all week.
This is a cottage style Residence Inn Hotel. There are about 15 - 20 buildings with about four rooms or so per building, the rooms are nice and large. The buildings are dated. I would recommend re-building a new modern Brick Hotel. The Staff is EXCELLENT. They had a nice breakfast spread the entire week we were there. The Location is GREAT, central to all of Albuquerque. The rooms are reasonably quiet, as you are next to the highway. There is a dry creek and a nice long walking / biking path following the creek, next to the Hotel. The pool was packed every evening with lots of laughter... If you like barbeque, there is a good barbeque restaurant one block away. Shopping is close. I would avoid the WM, as it's clientele is a bit off the wall...!
Con's: No elevators (choose between dragging bags up stairs, or staying on ground floor and listening to guests overhead). A pair of used underwear was on the stairs. Door opens to outside. Attached to Motel 6. Vagrants walking around area. Dirty walls & doors; popcorn ceiling. A/C intake vent cakes with lint. Noisy A/C, highway noise, wind noise from fireplace flue, and tapping sounds all night from somewhere. Floor didn't appear to have been vacuumed - sock fuzz left over from previous guests. Tub was not clean - rings and feet prints on sides from previous guests. Bathroom sink was clogged. Sheets felt rough, and had ink pen scribbles from a previous guest. No wired internet. No logs provided for in-room fireplace - BYO logs. Checkout desk never asked about our stay. Pro's: Full length mirrors. Cold A/C. Good pillow, medium firm mattress. Full-size fridge. Good breakfast. Nightstand clock (was even set correctly).
I was surprised when I got to this property that it had outside entrances - more like an old-fashioned motel. The neighborhood was pretty industrial and didn't feel very safe. We were fine and our car was fine, but I was uneasy. I prefer inside entrances and didn't check to be sure this property had them. The desk clerk was very nice and the breakfast was robust. Our room was spacious and the kitchen well-equipped, so if you're forewarned, you'd be fine.
We have stayed here twice while driving to AZ from WI. The first time was ok but the place was worn and not real clean but i can deal with that. The second time was scary. When I went out to my car at 6:30am I noticed the car next to me was missing it's wheels! It just happened minutes prior to me walking out to the parking lot! Very bold of them also since two police cars were parked in the lot also (they were staying there for a training class). One officer said last time they stayed there a car was shot up full of bullet holes in the morning! In addition to that the bathroom floor was covered in long black hairs...not ours..and a bowl I was going to use in the kitchen had dried green food stuck inside. I will never stay here again!
Wish my rating could be more of a 3.5. Stayed here for one night for business. As a woman traveling alone, safety was a major concern. The area feels a bit sketchy the later it gets in the day since it's tucked away from the main road, but once I was in my room I had no concerns. The hotel was located minutes away from where I had my business, so that was nice. It was also conveniently located to restaurants and grocery stores. I had to check out prior to breakfast at 6:30, so can't comment there, but the kitchen was useful in preparing a breakfast in my room. The couch wasn't very comfy, but the bed wasn't bad. In the morning I discovered that the shower hadn't been cleaned (hairs on the wall) and that my hairdryer did not work. Wasn't the best hotel I've ever stayed at, but the convenient location would make me reconsider staying here again if back in Albuquerque for work.
I stay here every month on business. It is conveniently located to everything in Albuquerque, and is my hotel of choice when I am in town. It takes between 15-20 minutes to get to/from the airport and 10 minutes to downtown. A Walmart is across the street as is a World Market. A whole Foods is down the street, 2 minutes by car. A shopping mall and movie theater is 10 minutes away. the hotel is always clean and tidy, and the front desk staff and helpful and accommodating. The breakfast is hot and tasty. There is plenty of parking.
After a long day on the road it was refreshing to have dinner served when we arrived. We had a room with 2 beds and a fireplace, perfect for 3 tired travelers. I have stayed in many hotels and thought the "upper end 5 star" was always somewhere I needed to stay ON this trip I was thankful for the help at the front desk, the service, the dinner, water, sodas snacks and breakfast. AND they had coffee in the morning, huge bang for my buck.
We just completed another fantastic stay at this hotel. The rooms are always extremely clean with plenty of cozy amenities, and the beds are top-notch comfortable. But what sets this hotel apart is the professional and friendly staff. They welcome you truly care about providing the best service. The food is always fresh and they mix up the variety so that you're not getting the same thing every day. We always stay here traveling to and from our spring break destination; we've stayed in lots of hotels across the US, but truly this is a quality experience for minimal cost. (Wisconsin K-9 units must also love this place, because every time we stay here there are always WI K-9 units here, too, and it's fun to see them walk their dogs!)
Stopped in here for an overnight stay. Not real familiar with Albuquerque, but assumed from the map that this hotel was along a frontage road...it is not. It's actually in behind some other buildings, but we found it on the second trip around the block. Agree with some other comments that the room seems a little dated. The couch was uncomfortable, but we loved having a fireplace! Slight issue with other guests standing right outside our door talking and smoking cigarettes. I addressed it with the front desk and someone was immediately to ask the guests move elsewhere.
