Everything about the Chocolate Turtle was perfect, Keith and Denise have created the rare thing of a B&B you don't want to leave. On very short notice Keith catered for me being a vegan (sorry Keith my bad!) and the breakfast were always superb.
We chose to end our road trip through parts of the Southwest by staying at this quiet and lovely Albuquerque B&B. The setting is just wonderful for morning coffee and breakfast -- an open patio and back courtyard overlooking Sandia Mountain, with native plants, cheerful birds, bunnies, and the occasional roadrunner. Our room was very comfortable with all the necessities at hand. (The bathroom sink has a cabinet with counter space and drawers for our "stuff". Note to B&B owners and hotels: pedestal sinks don't cut it!) The best part of our stay was the hosts, Keith and Denise. They are warm, welcoming, fun, and wealth of information on the local area. We'll likely go back just to see them again!
My wonderful IN 70 yo cousins loved Chocolate Turtle—I was out of room at my house. They said it was extremely clean and peaceful. Had a wonderful stay. No problems with reservations or check in. Said they would definitely stay again.
There were seven people in our party, 4 adults and 3 children. Everyone enjoyed our stay. Our grandson that likes bird watching liked the back yard and found several species, including helmeted guineas. The rooms were comfortable, quiet, and decorated with bird themes. The breakfasts were great. The blueberry pancakes were wonderful. We would certainly stay at the Chocolate Turtle again.
Having never been to New Mexico before, I booked this place for a week stay so that I could use it as a home base from which to explore the state. What I didn't expect, was that the owners would have such a beautiful property in such a beautiful location, where every single detail has been attended to with such love and care. Everything from the breakfast to the bathroom soaps has that extra touch, as Denise and Keith have clearly gone the extra mile to make sure their guest feel right at home and taken care of. I can't recommend this place enough!
Very welcoming home and host couple Denise and Keith. They provided excellent advice regarding a winery visit and restaurant selections. Excellent accomodations and Kieth made us an awesome breakfast. He even moved the time table up an hour so we could catch an early flight.
My wife and I had never been to New Mexico before and we went to visit a relative who moved there and built a home. We elected to stay at The Chocolate Turtle Bed and Breakfast first, for its convenience and second, it was so highly recommended by people visiting the area. We were delighted with the accommodations and the location. Our hosts, Denise and Keith were simply wonderful and made us feel totally at home. We can't say enough good things about them. But one thing must be mentioned and that is the delicious breakfasts Denise prepared for us. She is a terrific cook and she claims that Keith (who was ill during our stay) is the normal chef and does equally if not better than her. You can be assured when we return to visit we will again stay there. Thank you Denise and Keith for everything.
First the approach:'as you turn off Rte 528 to head down toward the valley below, you have a glorious vista of the Sandra mountains. About half way down on the left, the Chocolate Turtle is a welcome sight. The adobe construction is attractive in the outside and simply MAGNIFICENT and Warm on the inside. Our daughter and her friends stayed here for her wedding, and a majority of the wedding party joined them for a farewell bagel breakfast on Sunday morning. The couple who own and manage the place couldn't have been more gracious or hospitable. They even joined in the conversation and added several delightful details. Rooms were spacious, beautiful, well-maintained and comfortable. Highest possible recommendation!
My husband and I traveled to Corrales, NM October 1 and stayed at the Chocolate Turtle B&B. What a delightful visit! The inn has tons of charm and views to die for. Our hosts, Denise and Keith fixed fabulous breakfasts on the patio and provided information about the area. We will definitely return and also recommend.
I had some friends visiting from Rhode Island and were looking for an experience more than just a hotel and this B&B was great. Owners were great and very helpful with suggestions of things to do and see. Convenient location for doing things in both Albuquerque and Santa Fe. Would certainly recommend this operation.
