While the hotel met all my basic needs and was clean, it is the noisiest place I've ever stayed at. The walls are paper thin so you can hear every door open and shut, every shower in the room next to you and the people above you walking around. I unfortunately was next to the exit door also, which slams when you let it go. Aside from that, the staff are all friendly and it is convenient to food, shopping and major highways.
I had an awful experience at this hotel. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. A dog barked the entire time and we were there to take the bar. We didn't sleep at all and management did nothing about it. The rooms felt gross as well. We left early just so we didn't have to stay another night.
I believe that I received value for the price of my hotel stay. While the rooms need some upgrading, like the carpet, the hotel was clean, comfortable, everything worked and the staff was very friendly.
AC did not work and was super loud. Made it impossible to sleep in room. Also, the room had a bad smell. Although I liked the layout of the room with the kitchen and a study desk and room. Wish they took care of ACs and smell in room!
We were surprised to see a very small lobby with a very warn carpet, but we hoped the rooms would be different. It turned out that there was only one positive thing to say about the motel. That is the woman behind the counter who checked us in and was very nice and helpful. We were given the keys to our room, and they didn't work. We went back to the desks, and the keys were keyed again. We went back to the room, and we opened the door to a room that had not been cleaned since the last person was there---the bed was unmade, etc. We were given another room. Old and with burned area on the counter, but what I would expect in an inexpensive hotel---not close to a three star. I tried to use my computer and could not get any indication of available wi-fi. I took the computer to the front desk, and the nice woman got me connected. I then tried the small TV. No signal!! We were going out to Trader Joe's, and the woman said they would check it out. When we returned it worked. She told us the wires had been disconnected. Finally, I found that the stations available included FOX News and not MSNBC. I am an older person who has traveled a lot. This is the first negative review I have written. I am not going to use Priceline's bidding again.
We won tickets to the Taste of Country Music Festival 2017 from our local radio station. With our family schedules & full time work schedules, we found ourselves doing what we beg our 6 children NOT to do. We waited until the last minute to book a hotel for our stay. We ended up staying Friday night, June 10th at a NASTY DIVE. Not even worth naming here. We were booked to stay Saturday night June 11th as well & we knew as soon as we walked in that we would NOT be staying a 2nd night. Wish we hadn't stayed the first night, be we were sooooo exhausted from traveling that we just couldn't drive around any longer. We cancelled Saturday night & my significant other immediately said look up a phone number for "Extended Stays" . Oh my gosh!!!! One of the best decisions we have made during travel. It was unfortunately an hour away from our destination at Hunter Mountain, but it was so worth the travel & time & price. Thank you so very much "Extended Stays of America"!!!!!!!
In my travels, I always know that I will have what I need in a consistent way when I stay at Extended Stay hotels. The kitchen facilities make meal preparation easy for one with dietary restrictions, and also saves money, not needing to eat each meal out. The staff is always friendly, and I know I will be comfortable whenever I stay here.
My mother and I booked a stay at the Extended Stay America on Washington Ave in Albany for two nights. It was so awful we ended up staying only one night. First things first, the entire stairway and upstairs WREAKED of cigarette smoke and marijuana. I immediately called the front desk to let them know at which time the employee apologized and said she'd come spray some "good smelling stuff." I asked if we had accidentally booked a "smoking" room and she said no. The smell was so bad and pungent it literally woke me up out of a dead sleep several times throughout the night. Second of all, the room was filthy. (Mostly the bathroom and kitchen area.) I wouldn't even use the shower - there was hair and grime built up and a wooden shower seat that had begun to rot away. The kitchen had a dirty fridge and no silverware, dishes, or utensils, not that I would have used them anyway. Upon checkout, I informed the desk attendant of my concerns, and he simply looked at me with no response. I submitted a comment outlining my stay to the Extended Stay America website, to which I also received no response. You could not pay me money to stay in this establishment again. Poor, poor experience.
We booked this hotel for graduation weekend at University of Albany. Very convenient location as it is just across the street from the school. Checkin was quick and easy. Our room was clean. Kitchen seemed in good shape, but it wasn't something we needed to use during our stay. The Grab-&-Go breakfast had more choices than last time we stayed in this hotel, which was a nice surprise. It's basic at best, but the coffee was fresh and we were able to grab something to eat on the run. While Wifi was included, I was never able to connect my phone to it despite multiple tries. The price seemed high for what we got but it was graduation weekend so we had little choice. It's a good hotel, if we need to, we'll stay again.
We made a reservation at this property in the expectation of a 2.5 star hotel. It was more like a 1 star. The first room we received smelled of urine so we were place in another room which did not have that funky smell. The carpets were old and dingy. It was in need of some rehab / remodeling. The breakfast was merely a muffin and some coffee and packages of oatmeal. Quite noisy for a while but did quieten down after a bit. Not recommended.
