Enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It is very convenient and has pretty much everything you could need. There is a great bar with a decent food menu, an awesome steak house and the staff is friendly and accommodating. Its not the newest hotel in the area but it is nice, clean and a great place to stay.
Really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The pleasantries started the moment I walked in and came in contact with Aarica at the front desk. I was greeted with a warm, friendly smile, a pleasant attitude and a great deal of professionalism. I REALLY appreciate the way I was made to feel welcome. I was recognized as a Spire member & thanked for my loyalty. I understand that this is policy but it doesn't always happen & sometimes when it does happen, it doesn't seem genuine. I didn't get that feeling at all from Aarica. Her enthusiasm made me feel like my business was actually appreciated. I then met Bianca who was the same. Very pleasant, courteous & professional. I had questions about the area & some activities my wife & I had planned to do. They were extremely helpful & as a result my wife & I also enjoyed our time away from the hotel. Thank you! I spend a lot of time in hotels on business and I really appreciate great customer service. I wanted to come back before I even got into the room. Speaking of the room, it was spacious & spotless. The king bed was comfortable & the quality of sleep was great. I met one of the housekeepers as we were checking out who was also very nice. I wish I had gotten her name. I didn't eat dinner in the restaurant but the breakfast was very good. I will definitely stay again when I'm in the area.
We moved from another hotel to this one and could not be happier. The staff is amazing. I wish I knew all of their names. Aarica and Bianca at the front desk are so friendly! Brian always seemed to be around a corner to help. The housekeeping team went above and beyond. From helping to get into a room, searching for an umbrella or just generally looking to help in any way. No matter where you are, someone is looking to help you. Great visit! Also spoke to the GM and I can see why the team is so polite and helpful; she definitely leads the way.
Stayed here a few times and it keeps getting better. Great bar tender. Managers special on a Tuesday evening, free drinks for 1.5 hours. Breakfast is good. Did not eat in restaurant . Staff very friendly. Hotel clean and enjoyable
Very friendly! Tami Mahoney is thrufly credit to her profession!!! Very nice hotel! The rooms are clean, everything to customer satisfaction. Feels very secure and like at home! No problems. Recommended to everyone!
It took me a while to realize this hotel has been in our family for over 20 years. We hosted two family reunions here, and this time we returned to bury my aunt. The staff provided amazing service. Damien, Bianca and the General Manager Darlene are to be commended for making our stay so pleasant. The rooms were very nice, CLEAN and the beds super comfy. Not to mention the location is ideal to shopping and a variety of restaurants.
I came back to Akron, where I grew up, to visit some friends. I am a Spire member and used my points. I will preface by saying that I never wriyr these reviews. I think this is my first. I travel a great deal and am very friendly and understanding of service people. The hotel is most likely under poor management. The worst part was when we came to redeem our welcome coupon for a drink and we got a snack. The cook came out and gave us a look like "how dare you order food now. I want to go home." the bartender, although friendly, told us that even thoigh the kitchen closes in 20 minutes, "he is not sure if we can order because the cook has to come back at 4 AM." I should not be privy to this information. If the restaurant is still open, it is still open. The keys worked about 60% of the time. Reception was often vacant of anyone. The maids didn't replace the soap and shampoo and I found my remote control on the floor after the room was cleaned. My cheery greetings to staff were met with grunts and shrugs. Nothing to ruin a trip or anything, but just a general bad attitude like they are doing you a favor. Akronites are generally friendly and swrvice oriented. This hotel must have worked overtime finding the least service oriented people in the citu, or even the state.
Conveniently located to many shopping locations, clean rooms, and staff. The staff in the restaurant are rude, they rush you to eat and demeanor is not welcoming. Quiet for the most part, I was there during a bball tournament so there were lots of kids running around.
I've stayed at the nearby Fairfield a couple of times in the past, but stayed at this hotel as they were honoring my special rate the night I was in town. I should have just paid the regular price for Fairfield. I was more than underwhelmed with this hotel. For starters, the service was below average and people at the hotel seemed like they did not want to be there. The hotel itself had a strange smell throughout. Then there was the room. There was not an electric thermostat but an old school box in the window, which forced you to choose to sweat all night or keep the air running all night long and wake up shivering. There was also an extremely bright smoke detector that blinked throughout the entire night. I almost covered it with a shirt. The bathroom was not much better. The shower does not completely close and has a half glass wall. I do not know if this was an attempt at being modern, but I'd rather have had a shower curtain and actually be able to set the temperature in the room to a comfortable setting. I would never stay here again as I saw every hour on the clock, and had to hide under the covers to attempt from being blinded by the smoke detector and keeping my nose from freezing. Worst stay I've ever had.
We arrived and we're able to check in early which made it nice being that we had to go to the funeral home for a viewing. The room was average except for the hair that was on the bathroom floor and some wore out fixtures in the bathroom. It also appears that the caulking in the bath tub needs to be redone. There was a team staying there also but we were able to get around the breakfast room with ease. No major problems were encountered.
