I really liked my stay here, it’s self contained apartments which are well maintained and cleaned on a daily basis. Spacious with air conditioners, tv fridge and cooker. It’s behind the main run of hotels which is nice as the front is very noisey. Highly recommended
Me and my friend stayed there for 3nights,located in station 3.we stayed in room number 10.Room is clean and distance to the beach is less than 5 minutes by foot.15minutes to Station 2 but there are plenty of three cycles can be hired with affordable price.Awesome location.Try the massage at the beach area.It was cheap and wonderful! Great people! Great food! Definitely will be back again in Boracay!
We enjoyed Boaracay. The underwater walk is an experience for me and my wife. The seafood in the market area was very delicious and the most freshiest anyone can have. Its very affordable although one have to bargain
Firstly the apartments are basic, but so is the price. That said, everything I needed was available, in fact there were more kitchen utensils available than I have had in 4 and 5 star apartments. The staff (especially Steve) were very friendly and helpful with the local area. I moved the bed from under the AC as it was too cold and I didn't want an extra blanket so found a happy medium. Big fridge, big screen TV and even a mini bar. There a shop just on the corner for essentials and a laundry 5 mins away. If you leave early give them plenty of notice so they can be around to hand back your key deposit. Only negative was the squeaky gate (good for security I imagine) and my noisy fridge - it sounded like a 747 taking off. Overall a good value stay very close to the beach.....on the classy and quieter end of the island.
Travel sites claim it's 3 stars, TripAdvisor claims 3.5 stars. I am hesitant to even give it 1. I try to be understanding and lower my standards when travelling in developing/under developed countries but this place is AWFUL. Let me start by saying that this is not even a hotel. It's an apartment building. I suspect only a few of the rooms are rented nightly, but I could be wrong. I booked on "Hotwire" so it was one of those deals that you don't get to see the hotel name before booking to get a discounted rate so going into this I had no idea these were apartments when booking. Since this isn't a real hotel the signage is terrible (we walked past it two times) and none of the locals seemed to know where it is. When we checked in at the "office" (just a ground floor apartment with a small sign) and it is closed and locked, and this is at 4pm which at most places I prime check in time. There's no one anywhere around the building to help us (legit 0 employees - not even a security guard). 20min later an employee appears and let's us in. Terrible service. The single employee checks us in then asked for a cash deposit without explanation of why (never been asked for cash deposit from a hotel before). Reluctant, I said he could put a hold on my credit card that I used for booking. He said they couldn't do that to which I said I was not comfortable just handing him cash, especially since no one is in the office 24/7 so I don't want to go without if they aren't there when I need to check out. Then he asked to scan my passport, another request I found odd. I asked him why he wanted to do that to which he had no answer, so I said I wasn't comfortable doing that. He then gave us the key to our room and that was the end of that. To no surprise there was no elevator and no one to help us carry our bags the 3 floors to our room. Sweet. We get in the room and couches are stained, floor is wet because they unplugged the fridge and didn't dry up the melted ice, and the wifi only worked in the corner of our bedroom. The power went out frequently but that may be an island issue so I'll give them a pass on that one. The positives were that room is very spacious. The air conditioning worked (but only in living room and not bedroom), and lastly they had good cable TV. Very very grateful we only booked for one night (itinerary for our trip changed so we had to grab something for just a night) otherwise this place may have ruined our stay in the beautiful Boracay. Would never stay here even if it was free.
The room is actually pretty decent considering it seemed like it took forever to walk to the actual apartment building. It was close to the beach which was also a plus but there is more. There actually needs to be a front desk or someone to handle checking in and checking out at anytime. Problem #1 the remote control in the apt didn't work. We informed "management" it wasn't working and someone came to the apt to see the problem. He basically look at the remote and said, "you'll have to change the channel on the TV. The remote doesn't work" I'm thinking, "umm okay! That's it?? No one is going to fix it?" The answer was, "no" smh Problem #2 upon arrival, the manager/owner, Steve checked us in when we arrived. He then asked for a $1000 pesos key deposit ($20) that was sprung on us on the spot. Speaking to several people in town and throughout our travels in Boracay, everyone said that was an outrageous amount of money. Deposit for keys are never more than $100-$200 pesos max! Problem #3 Our flight leaving was pretty early so we checked out At 6a except there was no one to check us out. We knocked on the managers "office" door but there was no answer. We called the "office" number, no answer! Our driver called the "office", no answer! After 20 mins of trying to get in touch with the manager we had to leave because we were holding up bus of people. Long story short, we never received our $1000 pesos deposit back but from what I've read on previous reviews, this wasn't the first time. Do yourself a favor and stay someplace else!
Very close to the beach and the room had a full kitchen so we could go to the market and cook ourselves. Very spacious studio style room with a balcony. This definitely beats renting a hotel room and you feel much more like you're living there rather than visiting. Staff was friendly, accommodating and kept our suite clean. A little tip, the reception is based in the owners suite which is located in the last suite at the far back on ground level so if you have trouble checking in just go to that door and knock! enjoy :)
Station 3 is the wrong location for me, very quite away from the action, I like station one or two so I can party , This property is not on the beach but just a few mins walk to the get to at the back, large rooms + cooking facilities are pluses , but the location and being on Station 3 is a huge deal breaker and poor value for those who like some action where they are staying ... I do believe staying on the beach desirable if staying in Boracay and eventually found a hotel beachside on station I that met all my wants and needs , do your research well before choosing a hotel in Boracay .
I stayed at Roxon Apartments for a week in October. Although, I enjoyed the stay, it was very hard to reach someone at the front desk. Since there is no real receptionist desk, rather the owner's apartment, it was very hard to reach the owner the day of my checkout. While he was previously notified that I would be leaving at 5 am, I requested to be turn in the room key and receive my return deposit that night but was assured that someone would return my deposit that morning. Of course, this did not occur and the owner remained with my room deposit. Please make sure that you notify them of the day you are leaving and at what time so that this is avoided. On a positive note, my stay was quite enjoyable. The location is literally a one minute walk from the beach(station three) and it is relatively quiet at night. I had one issue my first two nights. My balcony door was missing a lock so anyone could easily come in and out with ease. But that was fixed once I let the owner know of the issue. I stayed in a one bedroom apartment which was cleaned everyday. Also the gate to enter the hotel does not require a key. You can easily push the gate and enter, which means accessibility for crooks and such. INTERNET IS NOT FREE. YOU WILL BE CHARGED PER DAY. Also, please purchase some ripe fried bananas from the young lady who sells them in the alleyway on the path to the beach.
I recently stayed at Roxon Apartments for 10 days during july to august, the owner Steve took care and helped us with transportation to and from the island which was very convenient. The location of the apartments is about one minute walk to the beach (station 3) and about 15 minutes walk along the beach path to station 2 which I really appreciated due to the calmness at station 3 (station 2 is very busy and crowded) The apartments are great, so is the service and the cleaning of the apartments. I'd love to stay at Roxon Apartments next time I go to Boracay.
