I have previously reviewed this hotel favourably for always ensuring I have a firm mattress available when I visit and they didn't disappoint this trip either. In addition though Matthew arranged a free shuttle into the city for my morning meeting and then even though The Deck coffee shop was closed in the afternoon - he opened it so I could meet a client AND sourced a barista to make us coffee. Thanks again Matthew - you guys go above and beyond!

We booked here because our previous accommodation was not suitable on a Saturday night. Whilst this room was not as nice as the other hotel, it was quite and the staff were very helpful and proffessional, one of the best front office staff on our entire trip. Location was good, however, we only stayed one night before flying out at 6am next day. The room needs a little TLC looking a bit worn but had everything we needed. Would stay again because of the front office staff who went out of their way to help me with directions to get a tram to the Mall.

Reception staff were good and consistently helpful to the best of their abilities. The receptionist was most helpful in joining us to your Priority Guest Awards scheme and thus we could obtain discounts. Reception was short staffed with only one busy staff member for a Saturday night when each week the Overland train comes in and the Ghan train leaves on the Sunday and you are the closest hotel to that station. The room was large and clean, but a bit dated. The bathroom was also dated and a bit shabby. Lighting was inadequate in the computer area on the sixth floor and light gloves were missing elsewhere. We could not get Wi-Fi in the room and claims of an Ethernet lead in our room desk were incorrect. There was no desk and no lead and no socket. Night staff came up to have a look, but no luck. There was no sanitary pad bags in the bathroom. When requested from reception they had only large laundry bags. Eventually we found a bag in the bedroom cupboard, but reception did not know it was there. They should be in the bathroom, together with spare toilet rolls. The basin had no plug. The waitress at dinner needs to be briefed on what is in each dish. Ours completely misinformed my wife when she asked if a dish had onions or potatoes. She said no. Both were in the dish and my wife cannot eat onions. The breakfast was very good, with a plentiful and varied buffet. The breakfast staff were also very good.

This hotel is reasonable and has some good and bad points. It is a bit dated and needs some updates ie. carpets very worn, but overall the rooms are well fitted out, bed was ok but pillows were terrible. There is a nice breakfast provided down in the cafe, not free of course, but everything you could want. You have to pay extra for a cappuccino which I think is terrible in this day and age, but at least you can get one, I have stayed in places where you can't even get a good coffee, a real 1st world problem of course. Very noisy at the front on the main road. Overall not a bad stay and location is good close to the city. Don't disregard.

Just arrived now. The good news is that Lauren at the front desk is lovely, very professional and a credit to the hotel. Unfortunately the same lift that wasn’t working in March is still not working in May. Lifts aren’t a luxury and having an entire hotel of guests arrive and depart via the one lift each morning and night just isn’t on. It’s a reflection of a much bigger problem somewhere. I’ll be advising my agent to find me new digs when I travel to Adelaide every 8 weeks from now on.

The staff at the front desk are great. The bed is really comfy and the towels were large and soft. Unfortunately that's where the positives end. We stayed in a king spa room which was on the first floor overlooking the car park. It's old, with outdated mismatched furniture and fittings and in need of a clean. The bathroom was outdated and smelly. There were dents and scuff marks on the walls and the paint job was terrible. The floor in the common areas was stained or ripped. The service upstairs at the bar was slow and not overly friendly and the beverage selection minimum. Again in need of a refurb. Icing on the cake - one lift out of service, and the other you had to go up to go down which was a hassle as we were traveling with friends.

Rooms have been recently painted. They didn’t bother to remove the bed head so it’s a clear paint demarcation around this area. Bathroom nice but little area to put your toiletries. Shower floor gets very slipppery. Generally clean and tidy. BUT the traffic noise is horrendous and the curtains don’t close properly. Overall not a good nights sleep at all. :( front desk staff, very helpful, wouldn’t stay here again, hotel too tired and needs to sort out the lift, which still isn’t working.

Books through qantas due to hugh bonus points offer. Rate was $204/night so seemed reasonable over 4 days. Room was a little tired and needed a refurb. Threadbare carpet. Mini bar was well stocked but I suspect done product needs to be refreshed/replaced due to sheer age. Was noisy too. Meals were mixed. Dinner in restaurant was great. Had the 2 course fixed price included a glass of wine. I had the scallops and lamb blackstrap - both great. I also paid for a side of greens which imo was not necessary as the accompanying salad was sufficient. Room service was prompt but the beef cheek pie and Paris mash was uninspiring and poor quality. Would not order again. Breakfast buffet is ok and pre booked/paid is $20 so not too bad cost wise. Selection is ok. The self serve coffee machine is rubbish and they did not offer a barista made coffee even though the service was clearly available. I went else where the rest of week. The roof top bar was cosy and friendly. Room service was a little mixed and the little thimbles of UHT milk just don’t cut it, and there are never enough. All staff were great. Warm and friendly. Pros. Cheap Cons. Not close to the action, tired Would I stay again? Maybe....

Be extra careful of the bathroom tiles at Rydges, South Park. Whilst the layout is reasonable,floor tiles are a gloss finish with no hand holds and an accident waiting to happen. The room was clean, size was decent with visible wear and tear throughout. Was put in a corner room overlooking a busy intersection. However, on a Sat night, the noise was thankfully subdued. The Deck breakfast is less than average fare for the price paid. And next to no healthy options except basic melon cubes. After sending back two milk coffees which were apparently the barista's version of a short macchiato (attached photo), I asked for an espresso and actually got it. Shame the coffee was bitter. Room service dinner was again not reflective of price paid. Veg crudites, flat bread and dips was very limited on crudites variety, mostly capsicum with tough-to-chew, stale flat bread. Reception staff friendly and helpful

Stayed here as part of a larger holiday, the front desk staff member was VERY helpful, told us about promos for the restaurant, organized a take away breakfast for us for 4:30am, printed an email we needed and was generally friendly. We had dinner in the restaurant which was ok, hubby had pork belly and king fish and I had goat cheese tart and lamb backstrap. The tart was excellent and pork belly was good but a touch bland after the tart. Husband enjoyed the kingfish but the lamb was supposed to be medium and it was over cooked, still edible but could have been better. Waitress was pleasant but person on the door was terrible, rude and vague when we arrived and when I asked for a jug of water to take to my room was told to buy the plastic bottles (2 for $6) - thanks but no thanks. Shane this one staff member let the team down as everyone else was fantastic. If it wasn’t for this one person the rating would have been 5! Room was smart and clean, carpet in the hallways is looking a little worse for wear and one of the elevators wasn’t working, this meant to go from level 2 up to 6, you first had to go down the ground then back up! - there was a notice stating that maintenance was occurring but no dates so unsure how long it’s been like this. Overall good visit and would stay again
