Holiday Inn Accra Airport

Good location near the Airport, disappointing room and bathroom. Blocked shower, got stuck in the elevator when the room card stopped working and the Open door button was not working, nor did the emergency one. I had to call reservations from my cellphone in the elevator. Laundry took 2 day to come back. Nice new gym with the basic equipment you would need. Good food variety in the buffet restaurant and some really friendly and professional housekeeping staff and waiters. Not worth the high prices charged.

Visited Holiday inn Accra airport between 17th and 29th April. Good location only 1.5km from airport, nice std of rooms, in room safe and good tv system with comfortable beds. Good pool and nice well equiped gym. Great breakfast...sets you up well for the day. Staff are friendly and helpful. Not cheapest...look for online deals..but overall worth the cost for shorter trips.

Reasonable hotel if you are a single business travel without your family. Rooms are average and the breakfast area is reasonably good. The rooms are average but of a standard of a typical Holiday Inn - but there are better. The staff are very helpful and the bar area with its several TV's showing various port options is really good. You can sleep really well and the temperature of the room is very acceptable for a good night's sleep.

Had a lunch with colleagues. Food fresh and tasty. I liked goat meat soup. Grouper was a bit dry. Environment is excellent, free internet and just nice place to relax. Prices are high, but the service worth what they ask. In general positive impression.

I am a gold elite member and I have stayed at this hotel quite a few times and always have nice things to say about the staff. They are as above and always have a smile for everyone. The let down for me on this visit was the bathroom condition, the lack of decent running cold water and hot water for shaving and showering. There was also a leak from the basin and having been left with only one towel? I did report these matters and most were dealt with in a timely manner but it still disappointed me at the time. I have been told before about the ongoing renovation work but have yet to experience a room that has been done? Also, unfortunately the room I was in, room 117 was on a lower floor so was quite noisy. Noise from the pool and the lounge bar below but this has to be expected and I will obviously ask for a room change if it happens again. I have to add that the food was good in both the restaurant and the bar and there is a good selection of beers and spirits. Below this review there is a box to comment if this is a no smoking hotel or not. There are "No Smoking" signs everywhere but there was an ashtray in my room and you can always smell smoke in the corridors.

This property is just a wonderful hotel 2 minutes’ drive from the Accra International Airport – when there is no traffic. On my first night I found my room a little fluffy like it was a while was kept clean but from the second day I really enjoyed the hotel. My room had a very nice view on the swimming pool and the vicinity. I was a little disappointed with the size of my bed. For a single room, the bed was really very small and the result was a very big room with enough room. The food was very good except the deserts. I really did not like their cakes as they had a strong taste of palm oil. However, the local dishes were really a plus. In the gift shop you’ll find lots of interesting goods at really affordable prices. In a nutshell, this Holiday Inn was a nice experience and their friendly staff was readily available making my stay a good one. I would likely go back there.

5 of us met for dinner at the Holiday Inn . The variety of food available was impressive, right through from soups and salads to grilled fish and meat . Well planned to suit all tastes and diets . The service was also attentive.

I was there for three nights. Overall, this is one of the better holiday inns I have stayed at. My room was clean and spacious, the staff very pleasant and professional. They were doing some renovations on my floor, so the hallway was a bit messy, but quite understandable and there was no noise during sleep hours, and I wasn't disturbed at anytime I remember. There is a small but nice gym and a very nice pool. There are multiple eating options and the food was good all three times I ate there. The included breakfast is quite good.

I didn't stay there but I had lunch there while I killed time before my flight home. They have a lounge at Kotoka airport and will pick you up from there and take you back to the airport FOC. The bar restaurant is reasonably priced and has a varied menu. The staff are very pleasant. They have free wifi but it is a bit slow. We noticed one fellow traveller seemed to have booked a room too perhaps for half a day?

We stayed for three nights after arriving in Accra. The first night was not that great because our room although cosy, was not spacious enough (we had eight pieces of luggage and there was barely room to move around). Fortunately a larger room became available the next day so we were moved. This room (a deluxe) was spacious, had a good view and came with a genius phone that allowed you to make local and international calls (to India, Germany, UK, USA) for free. Note that to the other party, your number appears as a UK number. It also served as a tourist guide of sorts and recommended places to eat and things to do. Even better, you could carry this phone around with you. This is the first time I have come across something like this (and I have stayed in a couple of hotels) so Holiday Inn ranks pretty high in my books! There were occasionally a few connection issues but those were resolved by the staff as and when they came up. Above all, the staff are some of the most friendly I have encountered in a Ghanaian hotel and the food though expensive, is very gooood. The downside was that some facilities appeared to be in dire need of replacement but I understand renovations are ongoing. I’m hoping that the Holiday Inn is given the facelift it deserves. Would recommend and would stay again.
