It was my first experience in Abuja. It is a comfortable hotel, but very expensive. Good decorated rooms, small reception, but good. The staff are very friendly. I only wish the cleaning had been more thorough, especially in the bathroom...

Typical Nigerian - provide the lowest possible quality and service while charging the maximum amount you can get away with. Damp, smelly and cleaning really poor. Intercom telephone in the room was so dirty I had to clean it before using. Fridge was filthy as was the cooker. Cheap foam matress so you'll have back pain after a few nights. Paid more than $2,000 (discount rate) for a one month stay. Only good thing I can say is that it's in the middle of town.

Bad service, not real clean, breakfast was included but never served. Would not recommend to anyone. Rooms were very dull and plain. Internet was included but never worked. TV reception was not very good with limited selection of channels.

In a city where even a horrible hotel room costs upwards of $300, Sigma Apartments is a relief. The apartments are reasonably priced and include daily housekeeping. The location is great, with plenty of restaurants and bars around. Wuse 2 is considered one of the few upscale neighborhoods in Abuja and the Aminu Kano Crescent - off which Sigma is located - is filled with restaurants and bars. The pros: 1. Clean and well serviced. 2. Location is great. 3. On-site restaurant, pool, and gym. The cons: 1. The internet. I stayed here for two weeks and they would give me password for two days only. I had to get a new password every two days. Is it really that difficult to give me one password for the entire duration of my stay? Also, internet is an additional N3000 for two days. 2. I was supposed to get two water bottles per day, included in the stay. I didn't receive anything for the first 3 days and then I finally called them and asked where is my water that you promised? They sent one bottle that day and then it stopped again. I got tired of asking, went to the supermarket and bought my own water. Don't promise me something that you cannot deliver. Sigma can easily get a 4/5 rating if it wasn't for the irritating internet situation and not giving me the water they promised in the rate.

Sigma is halfway between a hotel and serviced apartment blocks. on the plus side, the apartments are a good size, staff are friendly, there is adequate security and there is a good buzz about the place. To work on: the gym is small and some of the equipment doesn't work properly. Yet, several people go there, a credit to the gym staff! Maintenance can be an issue; leaking showers, broken appliances etc. These usually get fixed but it can take a few "reminders"! If you can put up with the niggles its much better value than the big hotels, especially if you are in Abuja for more than a few days.
