The Outrigger was an amazing place to stay. We walked out the door and to the beach about 100 yards away. We went snorkeling right off the beach and saw turtles, and so many beautiful fish and coral. The people who ran the Outrigger had many complimentary, fun things to do at the hotel every day, like weaving baskets, hula dancing lessons, and learning to play different instruments.
All of the people working there were very friendly and helpful. If we have the chance to go back to Maui, we would definitely stay there again.

A little aged, but otherwise excellent resort for families with teenagers and toddlers. Their cabana and ocean beds rental were reasonable and convenient. Hotel restaurants are ok. Typical overly expensive and mediocre flavor; however, you have Plantantion House, Merriman, Sansei, and other Kaanapali/Lahaina restaurants to try. Also, nearby Honolua Store is perfect for more affordable dining and drink options.

The location was great if you have a car- close to many things. The resort was a little smaller than I would have anticipated and did not have a hot tub. The beach is beautiful here, the pool was a little cold in March, hence a hot tub would have been nice. I loved the free hula class offered. The rooms are a little outdated though roomy and I like the sink in the common area especially when traveling with family.
