Met or exceeded every expectation. Not sure if I got some kind of super-secret deal, but this hotel delivered FAR more than I expected for the very reasonable price I paid. I travel to the Detroit area on business multiple times a year. I don't know how I never had this place come up on my list before. It will definitely be a "go-to" for me in the future. BIG place. Really much larger than most Best Westerns. A few miles out -- but close enough to downtown to be reasonable for daily attendance at conventions and the like. My single queen room was large enough. It was clean, the bed was new enough, the door had a modern lock, the bathroom was large enough. No complaints at all. More amenities than 95% of Best Westerns -- if I had a longer stay in mind this would be an excellent location. It has an indoor pool and hot tub, a guest laundry, the building wraps around an outdoor courtyard with a gazebo and garden. And the breakfast was also better than I find at most Best Westerns. I had fresh scrambled eggs, hash browns and biscuits w/ gravy. There was also a choice of cereals, yogurt and a variety of fresh fruit, and a choice of breads (and toasters). I compare to other Best Westerns as a point of comparison because, well, I have stayed at many Best Westerns and it is a Best Western. But my experience at this hotel compares favorably not only with other Best Westerns but also with Holiday Inn Expresses or Marriott Courtyards.

The front desk staff was very friendly - no complaints there. Our room however did not meet cleanliness standards. It hadn't been vacuumed before our stay so there was debris all over the floor making it impossible to walk barefoot on any of the carpeted surfaces without stepping on crumbs, pebbles, and whatever else was on the floor. The dishwasher had a Band-Aid in the bottom of it which was disgusting. The showers also never got hot; there was warm water but no hot water for a shower despite having hot water in the sinks. Overall it served it's purpose of a place to sleep but the photos and the presentation online made this property look much nicer than it actually was.

Very helpful staff. Accommodated a later check in. I appreciated having a first floor room in the back as a single traveler. My scoring has more to do with the room and the breakfast. I have stayed at your property several times before and the water has never been harder. The smell of the water coming out of the faucets is awful - not to mention the taste and the impact on my hair texture and color. Ugh. The bed was clean and comfortable but the chair and ottoman was not clean. Lastly, I eat a gluten free dier and the breakfast options are pretty limited. Will I say at your property again? Probably, based on location, but I'd truly appreciate better water.
