When you walk in, there was a kiosk with a guy from India who could barely speak English no life person to talk to. It took 30 minutes of me asking over and over and over what he said to check in. The cards didn’t work I had to go get them to get the cards magnified magnetize for the right room. When I got in the room, the bathroom lights barely came on and it was a really loud humming in the light fixture spiders all in the bathtub nasty stuff all in the bottom of the tub where we didn’t want to take a shower. The light fixture outlet behind the bed was so broken. The light would not stay on and the water came up brown when you turn on the sink at first for the first 30 seconds before I turned clear. That was the room. Breakfast was a different story waffles bread Steil biscuit and horrible gravy was breakfast. They were the worst rancid sour waffles we’ve ever had. They were unsafe made us sick no matter what we did not get the middle to be cooked when it was cooked it tasted so sour terrible and it took an hour to get the taste out of our mouth. Overall was a horrible experience with no human interaction to speak of.

Front desk not friendly. Breakfast was cereal and bread., room dirty, bedspread iron burn, non smoking room steaight up cigarette smell, and bathroom smelled like a hair perm.

The Inn at Ophelia's is the best place to stay when exploring Independence Missouri. The second floor rooms are very comfortably furnished. The restaurant below is excellent. Independence Square, where Ophelia's is located, has historical sites related to the Santa Fe, Oregon and California Trails, Civil War Battles and President Harry S. Truman.

Visually the hotel is stunning, hotel staff was polite, friendly, and helpful. There are two elevators for six floors and wait times were 2 to 6 minutes to get up to your room fourth floor. My wife was trapped in the bathroom immediately upon arrival she physically could not open the slider door because it had come off the rail. It is a solid wood door, so I had to physically pick it up off the ground and open the door for her.. We called the desk and the staff was up in 10 minutes and fixed it in five minutes and it was over with. And then showered only to find water covering 30% of the bathroom floor and out into the hallway of the room and put up at the first bed. We did not complain about this. We just put towels down and requested extra towels.. The caulking along the sink was completely fallen off. Really looked like cheap shotty work had been done in various places in the bathroom, around light fixtures are in the shower, There’s a hand hole in the shower that was completely loose. You couldn’t possibly use it or it would come out of the wall.. Bets were amazingly comfortable coffee pot was tiny, but worked fine. My room view was of the roof air conditioning system. Really a huge downer! I paid $250 to stay in that hotel one night and they charge my card another $50 for a room deposit in case we stole anything and they charge $20 parking which never was mentioned that I read. Three days later and I still do not have my $50 room deposit back. The restaurant weak!
