Great location to be in the center for everything. but hotel room itself is not maintained well. you will see spider webs, stained bathtubs and broken chairs - please check room and check in with the reception before you decide to compromise for the location

All is great that is given by God, which is the ocean view, all else is terrible. Properties at such conditions should be banned to occupy such a great view and location. VB must have some standards for the beach line properties. I found a bag of rotten food left inside the microwave. Dust everywhere. Seemed never deep cleaned. Bad odor. Bed frames are the cheapest type you can buy from Amazon. It was wobbly and squeaky all night. In Europe you can stay at a 5 star hotel at this price level. Only positive impression I had was the nice receptionist who was helpful and accepted to cancel the rest of my stay.

The concierge is very very helpful, respectful check in went quick especially that this was my first trip to Virginia Beach. The rooms are very welcoming and clean I am very satisfied I'll definitely come again and recommend!

Awful place. Do not go here!! It’s not clean at all!! Whoever gave a good review stayed at a different place. From the front desk to the rooms it’s gross. The beds had sand. The floors had dirt on it. Not renavated at all! And no front desk staff is available, you have to pay for everything additional. Place has people hanging out by the doors. No security. Also if you make book through Expedia they won’t give u money back at all. They said because the hotel took my card they couldn’t do anything. Whatever you do do not stay at this property unless you want bed bugs and a nasty dirty place to stay. Pictures posted!!!! Whoever is the manager should find a different career.

I love the fact that it was right there on the beach. Beautiful view of the beach from the balcony. But the actual room was very dated and poorly kept. I could hear the people in the hallway and next door to my room. Furniture needs to be replaced. The water pressure in the bathroom shower and sink was very poor. The beds were tiny. 1 remote for 2 TVs. The tub had a spot that was worn down, you could see a brown spot where the white gone.

This isn’t hospitality, this is slum and greed.

We chose this hotel specific to the price, location and view. We booked an oceanfront suite. The hotel attempted to charge us for our stay well before checkin. We arrived a little late around 5:30p. The hotel elevator is life or death, 3 day out of order. Our rm smelled like mildew/urine, the bathroom was the worst, a constant odor like something is wrong with the plumbing. Immediately I run in to pee, there was no TP, no hand soap. The kitchen sink was used to wash my hands just long enough to realize it didn’t drain, that water stayed the entire duration, and couldn’t use it. The room was dirty from the couch, table, bathtub, even the beds had yellow stains on the bed protectors. The pull out mattress is literally springs, zero comfort. The pool was disgusting, a thick foamy layer across the top, brown across the edges and bottom, it’s not safe. Housekeeping was never seen on our floor, never checked in, I had to ask for TP, trash bags, clean linen etc. I was told they’d bring us clean sheets and blankets on 2 separate days, again we never seen anyone. I often seen the hotel staff sitting on a bench together facing the beach.Why stay? Leaving seemed more of a hassle than just staying, it was a holiday, we had driven 10hr’s,our focus was outside the room,my kids were anxious and so on,we chose to rough it. Icing on the cake, the first time we heard from hotel staff,was to tell us one of them hit our parked car 30min before checkout.Later staff try to bribe for a pos review.

This property is totally neglected. There were broken door handles. Water was leaking from the recessed light on top of the sink in the bathroom. There was no soap in the bathroom. Mold on the mats in the bath tubs.

The property and room was in poor shape- faucets were not functioning properly, the shower had very little pressure, cabinets were missing doors, and the floors weren’t swept. We had a window in our bedroom that opened up to main hallway that opened up like a drive-thru window and the blinds in the bedroom were also broken so the bright light from the hallway shined right where we were sleeping. There was also mold on the ceiling and there were cockroaches in the bedroom. Very disappointed in our stay, as one night cost us about $400, and we could’ve stayed in a motel that was nicer than this “resort”. The reviews written were very deceiving as the 10/10 cleanliness that was said about this place was far from the truth.

I would give zero stars if I could. Our stay at this hotel in Virginia Beach was absolutely awful. The room was infested with bugs—we couldn’t sleep at all. We had photos and videos as proof and showed them to the front desk, expecting at least some level of concern or assistance. Instead, the manager told us to “take it up with Expedia” and completely dismissed our complaints. When we tried to explain how unacceptable the situation was, he cussed us out and walked off saying he was “out of here.” We didn’t even get a single penny back. Horrible customer service, disgusting conditions, and absolutely no accountability. Do yourself a favor and book literally anywhere else.

The room we had was under the pool, which overflowed and leaked through the ceiling. Both the living room and bathroom had water dripping through. We did get moved to a new room but it was not a good experience overall. The parking situation was also quite difficult. We would not choose to stay at this property again.

Staff at the front desk were very nice. Housekeeping staff were very nice. The hotel isn't the worst but definitely needs a lot of upgrades. The building is old and could use renovations and not just a coat off paint. The furniture is on the cheap side. Pool was decent. Elevator was fast. Parking wasn't a headache. The separate bedroom is nice but there isn't a way to get air conditioning in the bedroom without keeping the door open. Overall it was ok for the price. Didn't see any bedbugs, mold or anything super scary.

Do not stay here! The photos make Sun and Sand Resort look clean and tidy. It's the opposite. Our "suite" was dirty, the furniture mismatched, broken and there was sand on the ripped-up floor. There was trash outside the door, the walls were dirty and the beds looked nasty. We walked right out. Of course, the friendly (not) desk person refused to refund us. Disputing the charge with our credit card company. This place needs to close.
