Room was good, clean and really comfy bed linens and pillows but it was let down by the check in process. A busy day I’m sure as it was Valentine’s Day, but from 3pm onwards the line was over an hour long and half as long to leave the next day. The pool area isn’t big enough for the size of the hotel and should renovate to include a spa. We couldn’t use it as it was over subscribed right up until closing and again in the morning..The wait to have cutlery delivered to the room was 45 minutes - if this is typical then more staff are needed. Disappointed as nothing was offered to compensate the waste of customers time and even a rose on the bed or something to show some appreciation of the business would have been greatly received :/

The hotel was fine overall — clean, comfortable, and in a great location. However, for the price point, it didn’t feel particularly special. Wait times at the bar and restaurants were consistently over an hour, which was frustrating. There was no early check-in available, and the Gold/club-level guest services area was not open 24 hours, with doors locked right at checkout time — which made departure less convenient than expected. I would not recommend spending the extra money on the Gold/Club level. The added cost didn’t translate into meaningful value or service. Either book a standard room or consider another property if you’re looking for a true luxury experience. Not a bad stay — but at this price, I expected a smoother and more elevated experience.

My 9-year-old and I stayed at the Royal York for one night for a birthday trip. Our first impressions were good - the decor and ambience were lovely, and the service was attentive. The room was clean and spacious, though the bathroom was a bit cramped. Our stay was ruined for us, however, during the middle of the night. We were woken up at 3:30 am by a group of people speaking very loudly in the hallway. The group then proceeded to go into the room next to us, and to have a loud gathering of people, with people going in and out of the room. There had to be 5 or 6 people in there at some points. I could hear everything they were saying through the walls. I called down to the front desk and they said they would send security up. Security arrived approximately 15-20 minutes later, and after they left things quieted down somewhat and it seemed as though some people left the room. However, there were still at least 3-4 people in the room, and over time they got louder and louder again, making it impossible to sleep. I was up from 3:30 am until 5:30 am, and my daughter was in and out of sleep. Needless to say, this really put a damper on our trip. I understand that this wasn’t the hotel’s fault, but what was most disappointing to me was that no one from the hotel checked in with us the following day.
