Hotels in Stanhope

"The hotel location is great, easily walkable to the town centre and also the train station. On the negative side we found the room on the warm side, and opening the window did mean that we were subject to traffic noise and sirens during the night. The positives were that the spa is a great asset, just to be able to go and spend a bit of time relaxing even if you don't have a treatment. The highlight was the breakfast though, literally everything you could ever want was laid out! "

"We booked a superior room having selected the hotel as a ‘pet friendly’ destination. However, on arrival it became clear that the hotel is (at best) pet ‘reluctantly accepted’. Pets are not allowed in any public rooms and only standard rooms are available for guests with pets. The standard room, was reasonably spacious with a large double bed and bath. However, there was no fridge in the room and only plastic tumblers provided but no glassware at all. The disappointing experience was alleviated by some wonderful staff who did their best to mitigate the problems to the best of their abilities. Since we were unable to take our breakfast in the dining room, as we were informed that unless caged our dog could not be left alone in the room, we offered breakfast in bed at no extra cost. Overall, despite the best efforts of the staff, the hotel can not reasonably be described as pet friendly and that is reflected in our overall rating. "
