I waited a week to be sure this is objective and unemotional. Usually I post constructive suggestions for improvement in a private message to the host. In this case, I’m posting a public negative rating to protect the integrity of the VRBO listing system.Property description inaccurate. Good points:Near Botanical Gardens.Quirky fox theme.Price.BUT far outweighed by the bad:Access from street is hard. Steps up, wobbly handrail, more steps down. Very unkempt entry. Dirty steps. Door needs paint. Concrete uneven, loose plaster. Steps down next to big mess! No light switch inside entry door; flashlight needed to find switch for other room. Almost tripped where step down just before finding switch.Misleading description: Should say HALF kitchen. Shocked no stove or toaster; tiny fridge. Thick frost ate up space. Water dripping into fridge. In listing photo, mistook fridge for dishwasher. Listing: “air conditioned.” Unable to find thermostat; contacted host. Replied promptly: a/c controls upstairs in other unit. Contact host; he’ll adjust temp! (not even in property’s guest handbook) First night cold; next day asked for raise of 2 degrees. Reply well after in bed—unable to get the remote to work—sorry.Housekeeping poor. Large cockroach in shower. Closet floor dirty. Vacant space next to shower full of hair dust. Lighted make-up mirror dusty.No tissue, NO SPARE TOILET PAPER! Had to ration the one roll. Unforgivable!Very memorable, but never going back!
