Where to start in describing our wonderful stay at Kemaya Casita? It is one of the most organized and thoughtfully equipped rentals we have stayed at. They have truly considered everything you may need to make your hiking vacation perfect. A quick tip: go check out the Casita BEFORE you go shopping for groceries and supplies! We stopped at Whole Foods (very close by) before we checked in and found that we didn’t need the coffee, sugar or toothpaste that we picked up. We were initially worried about the lack of a stove, but we had no problem preparing meals with what was provided. The room was very comfortable with good cooling via the mini-split. The bed was comfy, the shower was great with plenty of hot water, and plush, absorbent towels were provided. Everything was clean and smelled fresh. Those are the expected for a rental. What we didn’t expect were things like hiking poles, fanny packs with water holder (I have GOT to get me one of those!), snacks for the trail, freshly ground organic coffee, sunscreen, flashlights for evening/night hikes, and even Poo-Pourri because, well you know. The owners were onsite but unobtrusive and allowed us our privacy. The neighborhood is quiet and beautiful. Our favorite part is that there is a trailhead just a few blocks away that takes you to Sugarloaf, Keyhole Cave and various other hikes depending on your time and stamina. Sure beats having to search for a parking spot!
