Our first time staying at this hotel. Checking in was easy with pre registration and girl at the desk was very nice. Communication by text with info and updates was much appreciated. Room was comfortable and clean and had a nice view of the water as well as overlooked the hotel pool. The ear plugs left for guests was also a nice touch as the music stayed loud till late. Will definitely look to stay again

There is no place like Cherry Grove, and as the summer bustle winds down, The Grove Hotel is the perfect place to chill. Nightlife options still avail themselves, but there's a nice lull and the beaches nearby are both dog-friendly and nearly empty. While a simple hotel room, the most important features are covered-- crisp, comfortable sheets and duvet, the perfect king mattress, a fridge, great bathroom lighting, and a comfortable armchair. Some complain about the the noise-- and yeah, this is Fire Island-- ear plugs come in every room. It tends to be a bit quieter after Labor Day, but it's always a delightful stay. Would be nice if a kettle were available in the ice room-- but we brought our own French press and boiled water in the communal microwave (a must for those of us that like coffee a special way or may want to drink it before the espresso bar opens). But what makes the trip always special is how incredibly kind, witty, and welcoming the staff is. It's a privilege to be able to bring our pup along-- one of the reasons Fire Island has been a second home to me for well over a decade. I only started staying at the Grove Hotel a year ago and truly appreciate Alan's hospitality at the front desk. This year they hotel implemented a new texting system, checking in throughout the stay to see how everything went and it was a really nice, non-intrusive way to feel tended to. Thanks for everything-- definitely recommend!
