Nice place but pics can be misleading. The place is not as updated or renovated as the pictures look. I’m being biased here because I’m really picky when it comes to rooms and I know this is an Inn and not a hotel, but for the price, I felt like we were expecting a newer and updated room. Everything inside the room was old, worn out, and somewhat ugly. It felt like a motel 6 inside. Our sink barely spit out any water from it being so old. Overall nice place outside and great location but don’t think it’s with $250+ per night when I felt like our room was at a motel 6

My husband and I stayed at The Pelican Inn and were extremely disappointed, especially given the $300+ nightly rate. When we arrived, the hallway was lined with bags of dirty bedding and trash. Our first room was unbearably hot even though it was cool outside, and the ceiling fan did not work at all. Two maintenance workers came in, had my husband troubleshoot the fan for them, and incorrectly insisted the fan switch was for the fireplace. The whole exchange felt unprofessional and dismissive. We were given a new room, but right outside the door was a large bag of garbage that smelled terrible. After moving it, it left a puddle of foul liquid that was still there the next morning when we checked out. This second room was also overheated, and the fireplace was warm to the touch even when turned off. The “partial ocean view” patio was shared with other rooms and surrounded by dry rotted wood. That night, the bed frame squeaked loudly with every movement, making for an uncomfortable stay. We later read reviews and saw many guests reporting the same issues with maintenance, housekeeping, and outdated rooms. Friends staying at a sister property experienced similar problems, suggesting a wider issue across the company. The only highlight of our stay was the Ancient Peaks pop up tasting room, which was the main reason we booked here in the first place. For the price, this hotel simply does not deliver. Until meaningful improvements are made, I cannot recommend The Pelican Inn or

Great beach view, and very pet friendly Although the door to the hotel was not soundproof even a little bit and had big gaps so the light and sound traveled. We could hear everything outside our room and above us. My dog is sensitive to noise at night so everytime he heard someone walking he would bark. I think a simple fix of making the door more airtight would be helpful. The bed was decently comfortable but the mattress felt uneven.

Our "ocean facing full view" patio room was below beach level so we could not see the beach. The room was old not like in photos. There were numerous fly's in the room. Disgusting! Called to upgrade to a balcony and was told I had to cancel thru Expedia and then book thru the hotel. Later I recd an email offer from the hotel to upgrade my room but I had to "Bid" for the upgrade and that 8 other people recd the offer so I should "bid the highest" to ensure I would win the opportunity to upgrade and pay the difference at arrival. The clerk that checked us in was very nice! She was the best part of our stay. We will NEVER stay here again.

Overall it was a really nice stay. The property is pet friendly which was a huge plus. The rooms are updated but not entirely. Some of the furniture could benefit from being replaced. I did appreciate the hard wood floors a lot since most hotels nearby don’t have them. There was plenty of parking and the WiFi worked great. I would definitely stay here again.
